I visited the website after doing a search for trendmaker home builders. Trendmaker change their name to Tri Point but it also looks as if they changed the style of build to the homes. So they weren't my style but may be someone else's.

They failed to repair and find a solution to address the situation. They will leave you hanging to dry. Third party contractors will point fingers at builder and builder will tell you to notify the contractor and no one will take blame leaving you with a ton of repairs to a new build.

The first-rate quality home that Trendmaker was once known for is not what I purchased. My new Trendmaker home have lots of problems. The problems are all small but a new home should not have so many things wrong with it. My wood floors have lots of scratches, my bathroom cabinet drawers stick, my carpet is lumpy, my bathroom grout color does not match, brick mortar does not match, my kitchen appliances are scratched, shower wall tile is uneven, flooring squeaks, nail pops, bathroom mirrors and shower glass is scratched, windows are drafty, faucet leak, chipped moldings, lots of wall dents, and many other small problems. When Trendmaker finally make repairs, sometimes the repairs are worse than the original problem. Sometimes customer service says there will be no repair or they ignore my repair requests. I wish they would provide the same customer service that they do when you are signing the sales contract. When they are trying to sell a home Trendmaker will roll out the red carpet and give you the best seats to their “dog and pony show”. After you move into your new Trendmaker home, the customer care does not care. The customer service will tell you anything and everything to keep from making repairs. The company is the worst. Hopefully if you purchase a Trendmaker home, you are one of the lucky ones that don’t buy a home that need a lot of repairs because if you do “Good Luck”.

I live in one home built by them and they refused to give me the blue prints and plans. If the house is mine, why such reluctance on sharing it?

We recently bought an inventory home in the Hidden Arbor subdivision in Cypress. Trendmaker has had a long history as being a top home builder so we were very excited about our purchase and I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of our new home. Our problems have all began after they started the construction of three new homes on our cul de sac. The subcontractors have driven through our yard 4 different times and some days I can't even pull in my driveway. One day there was eleven vehicles and two trailers double parked in the street. My wife and I have sent pictures and voiced our concerns to the salesperson and the superintendents multiple times and have gotten no response other than to get our yard repaired. Getting the yard repaired just seems like an opportunity for someone to drive through it again... We have basically been told that the homes will be completed in another 45 days and then everything will be fine. Their lack of interest in the problem is what is most disappointing. Our complaints have basically been dismissed.

The Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA) protects people's ability to share their honest opinions about a business's products, services, or conduct, in any forum, including social media. Is your company complying? Contracts that prohibit honest reviews, or threaten legal action over them, harm people who rely on reviews when making their purchase decisions. But another group is also harmed when others try to squelch honest negative reviews: businesses that work hard to earn positive reviews. The Consumer Review Fairness Act was passed in response to reports that some businesses try to prevent people from giving honest reviews about products or services they received. Some companies put contract provisions in place, including in their online terms and conditions, that allowed them to sue or penalize consumers for posting negative reviews. What's the penalty for violating the Consumer Review Fairness Act? Congress gave enforcement authority to the Federal Trade Commission and the state Attorneys General. The law specifies that a violation of the CRFA will be treated the same as violating an FTC rule defining an unfair or deceptive act or practice. This means that your company could be subject to financial penalties, as well as a federal court order. To make sure your company is complying with the Consumer Review Fairness Act: Review your form contracts, including online terms and conditions; and Remove any provision that restricts people from sharing their honest reviews, penalizes those who do, or claims copyright over peoples' reviews (even if you've never tried to enforce it or have no intention of enforcing it). The wisest policy: Let people speak honestly about your products and their experience with your company. We brought a Trendmaker home and it has been problem after problem with our home. They never repair anything, and the customer service is the worst. Since we been in our home, we've had sniffles, sneezing, coughing, and headaches. My neighbor said they have problems with getting Trendmaker to repair things and they always make excuses to avoid doing repairs. My neighbor and I filed complaints against Trendmaker with the Texas Attorney General's Office, Consumer Complaint division. We were encouraged by another homeowner that filled out the online complaint because they are also having problems with Trendmaker repairing things. We were told the Texas Attorney General's Office monitors customer complaints and if they get enough complaints about a company, they can file a civil lawsuit acting in the public's interest. I think that means class action. Also, my neighbor emailed me the following newspaper articles because we have been having allergy/mold symptoms Texas Couple Says Construction Defects Caused Mold Infestation, Sues Home Builder RICHMOND, Texas -- A Texas couple sued the builder of their home in state court on March 1, alleging that construction defects by the defendant caused mold growth that will require extensive remediation and replacement of their possessions (Nick Smith, et al. v. Trendmaker Homes Inc., No. 19-DCV-260160, Texas Dist., 400th Jud. Dist., Fort Bend Co.). Homeowners Say Mold Growth Caused By HVAC Unit Made Home Uninhabitable RICHMOND, Texas -- A defective air conditioning unit installed in a newly built home caused mold growth that rendered the home uninhabitable, a couple says in lawsuit against the builder of the home filed June 20 in Texas state court (Daniel J. Mech, et al. v. Trendmaker Homes Inc., No. 19-DCV-263661, Texas Dist., 400th Jud. Dist., Fort Bend Co., 2019 Tex. Dist. Ct. Pleadings LEXIS 11803).

The design of the homes are lovely. The sales lady is so nice and funny and Daniel; one of the contractors is amazing. The problem is once you buy the home all warranty repairs take forever. They are done without attention to detail and sloppily. The customer service is just awful. I wish I could recommend their homes but I can't.

My Trendmaker Homes’ consumer experience has been rather disturbing. To name a few incidences, a Trendmaker representative breached my confidentiality and created a safety threat and I notified law enforcement about the threat, Trendmaker sent quite a few confidentiality agreements with enticements for repairs, Trendmaker stopped my home repairs because I did not sign the confidentiality agreements. I filed for arbitration to resolve the problems. My first arbitration proceeding was vacated because Trendmaker breached the rules of arbitration. After the second arbitration, I received an award letter that Trendmaker disputed against. I filed for mediation after arbitration for Trendmaker to adhere to the arbitration decision letter for remedying my home’s building code violations of slopping, sagging and deteriorating structural defects as well as many other home defects. Most troubling, Trendmaker’s representative came to my home unannounced and most definitely unwelcomed and disputed my request to leave the premise until I attempted to call law enforcement. In addition, Trendmaker technically infringed on my civil liberties (right to privacy) by attempting to transmit audio from within my home. If I had known that I would have had such an awful consumer experience and that Trendmaker had so many legal problems as noted in Fort Bend County Texas district's public court records, I would have never purchased a Trendmaker home.
