I have never had worse of an experience trying to pay a bill, they have restricted my account to cash only or certified funds. They gave me less than an hour notice to walk to my local US Bank and send them a wire transfer. They didn’t provide me with the correct information so now I’m going to call again and wait for an hour, do you guys have 1 customer service rep? Please put effort into your job and actually help people thanks

I went here to get cash from my Washington credit union account. First surprise was no drive thru ATM, so I parked and walked up to the ATM, got my cash in $20 denominations. I needed a $50 bill so I went inside to exchange the $20s. I told the teller what I needed and everything went wrong from that point onward. Since I didn't have an account with Selco they refused. I explained that I have an account with another credit union that has an agreement with them to provide free ATM services and I had just used their ATM. I was told lobby service was not part of the agreement. But I did have an account with another credit union that allowed teller service. I had to provide my account number, my ID, my address, and my last 4 of my SSN. The teller then deposited my cash and turned around and withdrew the same amount and gave me the $50 bill that I had requested from the beginning. I walked out of there feeling very irritated and mad. I had a simple request that was made into a complicated and time consuming process! I felt like customer service was reserved for their customers only, not people in general. I am in the process of deciding on a local credit union to move my account to, but after that big production by Selco, I crossed them off my list as a possibility. Why do we have to make life more complicated than necessary? I just wanted to exchange the money from their ATM into a $50 and a $10 bill from their teller. There was nothing shifty or underhanded in my request but I felt like a "2nd class citizen" by the time I walked out. Oh just for clarification I was the only "customer" in there, so my request did not take time away from their real customers. Common courtesy and customer service seems to be a lost art and I miss it, especially from businesses.
Thanks again Nancy for bringing this to our attention. Because of your feedback, Branch Operations updated the non-member request to exchange cash policy to better accommodate these types of situations. Thanks again for your feedback! Hi Nancy. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience, and we understand how frustrating that must have been. Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent branch visit, we will pass it along to our Member Experience team to help improve the shared branching experience.

I love Selco, I have been a member for awhile and I am very pleased with them. I travel a lot with work and never have trouble with my banking.
Thank you very much, Wesley, for the kind words and for being a SELCO member.

LOVE Selco Credit Union. We have banked at different institutions (both personally and for business). Selco is by far the best!! Very friendly, great to work with and finance with.
Thank you so much for the nice review. And thanks for being a SELCO member.

Don't finance any large purchases using Selco! Selco was the preferred financier at a dealership nearby and they seemed to have a good rate so I went with them. And hey, they were local so it was nice to support local biz. I deeply regret not just sticking with my normal bank (USAA) for the financing though. Selco's customer service was horrible; first I wasn't able to enroll in their online payment portal so I had to mail paper checks- which as a millennial was the only time I've ever mailed payments via USPS, so I guess I learned a new skill that I should have known anyway. When I was finally able to enroll in the online portal it was incredibly difficult just to login and to navigate. I feel like every time I called or had a question it was a painful experience. This experience became one of the greatest regrets of my mid 20's and is now a common joke among my close circle of family/friends, as in "don't get Selco'd".

I always been helped right away. Busy is busy and they do their best to take care of me. Been banking for a while know and never had any problems. Great and friendly service. I haven't used all their services as to why I didn't give a five star. I do wish there are more branches available since I don't like going to different banks even thou community banks work together.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Hector! You likely know this already, but if you do ever need to find another nearby credit union where you can get service on your SELCO account, you can use this resource: https://co-opcreditunions.org/locator/

If you are from somewhere outside oregon and you travel here to make a large purchase, these folks wont honor the shared branching feature over your ATM limit. Its my opinion that this credit union is bottom shelf quality. Just got off the phone with my credit union and they told me that its not how shared branches are supposed to do business. If this is the case maybe someone needs to teach their tellers the difference between CANT vs havent before and dont know how. At anyrate, thanks for turning my flight, time, accommodation costs and dining costs a huge forfeit. Smh, 2020 and you folks are all kinds of failure.

The staff in Salem are outstanding, as is the staff that anerwers the phone on the 1 800 number , they have all been friendly, kind, and most importantly knowledgeable. Shelby has helped us with a couple car loans, the last one was totaly handled over the phone. I have never left or hung up the phone without feeling like a valued member and without all my questions being answered or the promise of calling back with an answer which was done quicky and efficiently. I appreciate and thank you all.

This place takes forever. Everytime I have brought my father in it has taken 2 hours. Stuck either waiting in the car for him or in the lobby apparently they needed my signature for my fathers Tacoma for some strange reason. The people going in and out of there are creepy also. Same guy from long ago wanted to stretch his ego and tried to make sure I felt intimidated decided to make sure I heard that he goes to the Gym to work out. People that go in there wearing plain clothes act like they are actors or hired security they are nothing more than thugs who try to control. It's a credit union the same employees have worked there for years. I don't like signing my signature without knowing what it's about and why I am signing it. I was left in that situation where I felt I didn't have that choice. When he finally came out to the lobby I felt awkward and he looked uncomfortable that I was in there. The 4 woman huddled around talking occasionaly looking at us. Yet they could have used Allllllllllll that time helping the two Gentleman waiting in the lobby as well. The guy it still wearing the bright Neon shirt and Overalls as well after all those years ago from going in there. By the way there was a pen left there on the floor. I don't owe debts and I make no plans owing anyone either. Those ladies that have been working there for years should know this by now. Reminds of the sickos and government stooges that referred my father to go in there.
