Great Customer Service... I am writing to you to express my appreciation for the excellent customer service which we had received from the Credit Union Personal Banker was very warm and accommodating, and very helpful to my wife and I with our personal car loan, I hope that this is the kind of service that will be present in all your OCCU Branches permanently as this is exactly what the customers want to have. Thanks again.

Oregon Community Credit Union was great when it came to vehicle loans, so I thought I’d give them a shot when it came to everyday banking. Awful! Problems every time I turned around, and not even a call center to assist if it wasn’t traditional “banker’s hours”. In most cases they corrected their errors, but that was only after hours and hours on the phone. Their 3rd party bill pay system is haphazard at best. Their internal processes and practices are sorely in need of modernization, including their training and customer service. I should have walked away when the representative at the branch was getting chewed out for messing something up earlier in the day in front of all the customers in the building, ridiculously unprofessional. I’ve closed my checking account after less than three months.

They may be a credit union but they lack the friendly personal touch of one, and operate like a large bank without your best interest at heart. I can't recommend OCCU.

We opened an account with OCCU because we were moving to Salem. We wanted to go with a local credit union instead of a big bank. Opening the account was great, they were super friendly and everything went smoothly. When we were ready to buy our home we met with the lender in their office. She was very nice but very slow. The housing market in Salem was moving quickly and we couldn't get updated information quickly enough to be competative. It was really frustrating and ultimately caused us to go with the lender that our real estate agent recommended. During the homebuying process we needed statements. Because their online statements come in the form of a pop up neither my husband nor I could get them to actually populate in our browser. I'm open to the fact that this could be an issue on our end, but should note that it happened on three different computers in 3 different browsers. We drove to the credit union to get copies of our statements and were informed there is a five dollar charge for each statement. Next we needed copies of checks we had deposited into our account to show the lenders where the money came from. I called the credit union to ask for copies and guess what? It's a five dollar charge for each check (unless you need more than 5 checks as it caps out at twenty-five dollars). Most banks and the other credit union I have used house those copies in your actual account so they are accessible online. I am surprised by the nickel and diming that takes place with this credit union and disappointed by it. It seems inappropriate to pass the cost of bad quality on your company's part to your consumer. They need to either update their technology to provide these services consistently or they need to eat the cost of doing business with substandard technology. We will be closing our account as soon as our home purchase is complete.

This place will lie to you about loan requirements. They will then give you a bogus reason for denial. Ultimately they are too small of a business. I have a travel trailer loan with them already and it is a good rate. Anything else they suck. I went to twin star credit union and got the straight answer. Loan was approved for a lower rate and no bullish!! Excuse. Occu lies on the phone so they can pick and choose which loan they want to approve. Your credit score and debt to income ratio has little to no effect. I will not use this place again and never recommend them to anyone. I would have never applied for a loan with them again if they had told the truth to begin with. Bad business.

Do not get an auto loan here! I got roped in via an offer from a dealer--I didn't feel comfortable but decided what the heck. To confirm some of the foresaid, they are very difficult to work with. Your account number is not available even on secure parts of the site or in electronic bills (doesn't make sense if you are paying bills manually). My biggest issue is when it came time to trade-in my vehicle, my dealer sent a check with the correct account information to them--10 days after I called in to check on the check after the dealer confirmed it was received. They advised they are unable to research payments on their end. Doesn't make sense, all companies have the ability to track checks received. Nice people on the line, but I suspect they are not well trained or they are just call centers with no experience in the job. Also, alot of the security measures they have do not make sense (ex: When was your last ATM withdrawal on your account? I have an auto loan, never.)

I have been with OCCU for five years now. My auto loan is through them as well as my general checking and savings account. I haven't had many issues with this bank but here are a few that I think need to be addressed: -ATM at the drive up location in Salem would not print a receipt. (Total of 5 occurrences) -Lost my debit card so I called in and had the card canceled. Was told they would be replacing it in 7 to 10 business days. Called after a weeks time to check the status. Was told that no card replacement had been ordered and would have to wait another 7 to 10 business days. Then was told that local branches can issue an instant debit card. So I took time off of work (I work during the hours they are open) and went to my local branch in Salem and they were unable to give me a instant debit card for lack of having the strip that is needed to run a card through. I am now currently still waiting for a replacement card and having to go through other people so I can pay my online bills which I normally pay with my debit card. Talk about consistent let down and inconvenience. - I was considering switching banks after all of this mess but have decided to stay because of the consistent friendly customer service I had gotten in the past. Shout out to Peggy in particular who set up my auto loan and helps me anytime I needed it

I would give them zero stars if I could. Received a notice that they don't have proof of insurance for my boat so I contacted Allstate. Allstate has all the documentation and the address they have sent insurance information to for the past 4 years. The notice I received has a different address, so we're guessing they changed it and didn't notify us. Allstate calls OCCU and they won't talk to him. Allstate is my representative that I pay with all the information that they could possibly want regarding insurance. I finally get the chance to call and am asked 5 or 6 security questions, including the name of the dealership where I bought the boat 4 years ago. I have no idea....but you know who probably has that information?? Allstate! I'm finally told to email the proof of insurance over to them and they will "review" it to see if it's valid and make a determination. The policy they purchased on my behalf was over $9k while Allstate charges me $290/year. Customer service? Zero Ease of getting answers? Less than zero Possibility that I would ever open another account with them? Not a chance in hell. Thank you Allstate. Apparently I am in good hands.
