Consistently understaffed, with wait times of 20+minutes before you're spoken to. Opens at 11a multiple days a week. Staff have told me they can't help and sent me to other banks, only to have different staff say that was wrong on my return. Spent over 2 hours across 3 trips trying to deposit funds and get a cashier check. The staff themselves are nice, but management needs to figure out how to run an organization so there isn't a line out the door waiting on simple transactions. All while Usbank makes $100billion in profit, can't afford a couple additional employees.
Hello, thanks for reaching out. I know how frustrating long wait times can be and I'm sorry for any inconvenience. I hope you were able to get the assistance you were needing. For your convenience, many transactions can be completed digitally, 24 hours a day. This can be done at any of our ATMs, on our website at usbank.com or the mobile app, or by calling our 24-Hour Customer Service at 800-872-2657. I hope this helps and that you have a great day. Kind regards, ^Kortnee

I've had such bad experiences at some of the other branches that I can continued paying $7 a check for two years to cash my checks. But my experience at this Branch was so good that I'm glad I opened up a bank account with them. I wish I had gone there sooner. Would have saved me some money.
Thank you for your honest feedback, Jennifer. We're glad you joined our bank family and hope that all of your future visits meet the same level of service. All the best. ^Larisa

This bank has only ever made one small error in many, many years of service and a huge number of transactions. I love their products, too. But the highest kudos go to Matt. His work and attitude are consistently outstanding. I always want to let the other customers go in front of me until his window is free. (But I don't, because that's weird.) He is so fast and always very pleasant, and doesn't complain about my massive number of deposits. Makes me happy to bank there.

I came in to cash a check that was drawn on US Bank. I gave the teller my ID and a US Bank debit card. When she gave me the money back she shorted me $7, when I questioned her she said there is a $7 fee for a non-customer. My name was written on the US Bank debit card, she said that it is not a valid account even though it does not expire until 2024. I told her that I would like a receipt and she told me they don't have one, I told her to write it on a US Bank receipt like Matt did last time he cashed it and so she did. She was very rude and condescending and it seemed like it was a problem because she had to give me money even though I don't think with them but the person that wrote the check does. What a bunch of scammers it's a form of intimidation just to get you to open up an account. I wouldn't bank with anyone that charges people when I give them a check, totally ridiculous and thievery
We apologize the service you received at your local branch was less than desirable, Ronnie. Normally, check cashing is a service provided for U.S. Bank customers with an active checking or savings account. You would need to deposit the check into a U.S Bank account or into your external account. We appreciate your feedback regarding the size of the fee. This is something that we regularly review and it's possible that this will change in the future. Thanks again for your time and feedback. ^Larisa

The manager Melanie is not only snarky, but is not very good at communicating. I will be transferring to a credit union.

As a photography business much of my work starts as an online inquiry and it's not until I receive payment that I know the job will take place. I was contacted by an agency in New York to hire me for a project and I was suspicious that it might be a scam but if it was legitimate it would be a fantastic new connection for my young business. A few days later I received a check for $7100 that looked a little odd to me but I'm still unfamiliar with the look of many business checks. On 7/27 I took it in to my local branch of US Bank at 1225 SE Cesar Estrada Chavez Blvd, Portland, OR 97214 and explained my concerns to the teller who looked at the check and said though the check looked a little weird, maybe sort of photocopied, and that the watermarks were strange, we would just go ahead and "see if it clears". I asked when I could be sure that the money was in my account as the company who issued the check asked me to pay $4000 out of that amount to a company they had selected to hire talent and makeup through. I clearly explained that I was nervous about paying out any money and wasn't about to pay out $4000 until I could be sure that I could count on the $7100. He agreed with me and told me I would be able to see the check clear on the mobile app by 10pm that night. On 7/28 I went back in and talked to the same cashier. He remembered me and assured me that the money had cleared and was available for use and then issued me a cashiers check when I explained that's how the subcontractor wanted to be paid without ever bringing up potential risks of the $7100 being removed from my account. I went down the street to Chase bank where the scammers had instructed me to deposit the cashiers check for $4000 into their account. The morning of 8/1 I checked my bank balance when going to pay bills and saw that the $7100 had been removed from my account. I called US Bank and was connected with someone from the fraud prevention department. She told me that she was unable to do anything from her end but she could see that the funds hadn't left U.S. Bank yet so if I went to the branch they could stop payment on the check. I drove down to the branch and talked to the same teller that had listened to my concerns, deposited the illegitimate check and issued the cashiers check. I told him in no uncertain terms that the entire thing had been a scam and I needed to stop payment on the check. After he talked to a manager for over five minutes he came back and told me that the only thing we could do was wait for the check to clear and that he didn't really understand it himself. I waited 20 minutes to speak with a manager who told me that I should have read the fine print when I opened my account and that my money was gone and that even if I filed a police report he's never heard of anyone getting their money back in this situation. The check hadn't been cashed yet but after contacting his superior he said that U.S. bank was unwilling to stop payment on the check because if someone did come forward with the check the branch and himself would have to take a loss and they weren't willing to do that. I went to Chase Bank next, the place where I had deposited the check and was assisted by three bankers who were all more stupefied than the last that I'd even been able to deposit the check in the first place, that U.S. bank didn't place a hold on the check after I had brought up concerns of fraud, and then that they had been so completely unhelpful afterward. In addition to being completely unwilling to own up to their part in my falling victim to the scam they were rude and unwilling to assist me in any way. I trusted U.S. Bank and their representatives to advise me financially and protect my interests and they were instead more interested in how it affected them and the branch's bottom line.

Amazing. MATT is awesome! We were early to our appointment & he recognized us immediately. His 5 years + exceptional service. Great people skills and very organized.

Went in to make a deposit at the ATM. A mildly wrinkled bill was put into the machine. This locked up the process. The young man blamed me (I believe his name was Matt) for his faulty machine and quickly stormed off. I’ve deposited money into many atm’s without difficulty. They couldn’t resolve the issue in house, nor could the customer relations person they had us call. We were told best case 7-45 days the money would be credited but possibly no money would be credited.

The best banking experiences I've ever had. Carissa was a total badass when it came to helping me with my small business. Kris helped me out massively when I had made some issues with my credit. Everyone I've talked to here is really nice and lively. Even the music they play is good. Totally above and beyond what my expectations for a bank have been :)

The manager is a nightmare. Rude, condescending, argumentative and worst of all an absolute liar. I came in asking for help because a US Bank ATM malfunctioned and suddenly transactions from 10 years ago are now in dispute. The tellers are very nice but this manager is terrible.
