I used to love Rivermark, but after my last few interactions I am looking to move to a different institution. Customer service representatives in years past have been very kind, and helpful whenever needed. In the the last few years the service has taken a nose dive. After having my wallet stolen, they cancelled my cards, without issuing new ones immediately. Leaving me for several days with no way to make purchases of any kind, (can't take out cash without a card!) or pay bills, etc. most recently a customer service representative I spoke with, was not only not helpful, but rude, and did not listen to my problem, request, or even answer simple yes or no questions. There are too many better options in Portland, go somewhere that cares about their customers.

This bank is not open till 8 p.m. like it says it's only open till 8 p.m. for walk up whatever the hell I walk up is and only for their members so if you come here to cash a check that somebody's written you from Rivermark Community Credit Union they will not deal with you
Hi Garrett, Thank you for your review. Our Personal Teller Kiosks are available to serve our members until 8PM with most transactions. However, if you are not a Rivermark member, but a member of another credit union, we do have a convenient 24/7 Shared Branching Kiosk located in the front of the building. I was feeling pretty financially stressed after losing my job due to Covid. To make matters worse, I had bought tickets to a music festival that was cancelled and that particular company was making it truly impossible for me to get a refund. I could have really used the money and went in as a last resort to ask if anyone at Rivermark could help. Josh Clark greeted me and calmed me down almost instantly. He said he wasn’t sure if he could make a dispute because it had been over six months since the purchase but took my case seriously, had my back and tried anyway. I ended up getting my money back but even if I hadn’t, I’d still be stunned by the warmness and care from the employees that made me feel heard and seen in a situation that initially made me feel I had been taken advantage of. Very important to me especially in these really hard times... thanks y’all

I faced unexpected homelessness after being a Rivermark customer for quite some time. I had trouble with automatic bill payments and couldn’t seem to figure out from Rivermark how to stop them. Without funds in my account, Rivermark kept issuing overdraft fees for recurring bill payments that couldn’t go through. In the end I had over $300 in overdraft fees for $11 that had been overdrawn. They never got back to me about getting rid of my overdraft fees after they initially said they would be able to do this. Eventually they closed my account without warning. Weeks later I just get an email from Rivermark asking customers to help donate money or food for the homeless community. I thought that was quite ironic considering that Rivermark doesn’t seem to care about their own customers enough to help alleviate some stress during unfortunate circumstances. Do not be fooled by Rivermark. They charge $30 for each overdraft, even if it’s merely a few cents. And if you try to get them waived, they’ll act like you’re trying to take advantage of them; when in reality they’re the ones taking advantage of you.

I used to work for them and now just a member. Recently we’ve come down on hard time and living pay check to paycheck. They moved funds around accounts without contacting us first and ever since I left the organization, they’ve treated me like less than a person. I worked their for 1 month and they approve me for a $12k car loan and a $1k CC. I left due to health reasons and started a new job and applied for a personal loan to consolidate debt. They claim that I need to be at my current job for longer and they see escalating credit balances which is why they denied my application. If you don’t want me as a member just say so. I feel like I’m banking with an ex girlfriend who’s being incredibly petty!

I've been nothing but happy with Rivermark. Great personal customer service, fixed interest rates on credit cards (not based on the prime), great rewards checking, plus a lot of big bank features on the app for a credit union.

Good bank, but need a normal ATM on top of their live teller ATM. Too many times I needed cash and the live teller ATM isn't always there
