I have an auto loan through them. I’m getting ready to sell the vehicle and was connected with Candace Goff. She was incredibly helpful and straight forward with no fluff. If you like dealing with people that will tell you what you need to know and are happy answering questions without losing patience or decorum then she is the rep for you. I haven’t had any bad experience with anyone else.

There is usually no wait to see a teller and very friendly customer service. I have been banking here for more than 20 years now and have gotten most of my car loans from here. They gave me a car loan when I had a recent bankruptcy. I was then able to refinance my car loan to get a better rate when my credit score was better and higher than in the past. I think I have gotten more than 10 car loans from here and even got two car loans at the same time from here. You can even skip a car payment twice a year from here also if you have made at least 6 on time car payments in the past can help you out when you are in jam financially. If your bank account gets an overdraft fee because sometimes you get into a crunch and you just couldn't help it and it was out of your control, they will refund that fee back to you as a courtesy because you have been a good customer. You don't have to call a 1-800 number if you wanted to speak to someone face to face because the main office is in Hixson so you can go there and be able to talk to a real live human being during normal business hours. They are also open on Saturdays til 1pm is great, but they now close at 5pm which sucks because they use to stay open til 5:30pm during the weekdays was use to be one of great services that I use to love about them! They also have co-op ATMs that you can find to make a bank deposit if you weren't near your bank or make a withdrawal without any fees and not have to worry about what the owner of the ATM machine is going to charge you for that $20 that you needed to pay for something that someplace that didn't take your plastic card.

BEWARE: if you have an accident or insurance claim Scenic Community bank will contact your Insurance agent and company and insist on being second party on the insurance payout. Dan Stephens said today on a recorded three way conversation that is the banks standard practice although I suspect he is lying about that too. If I could do zero stars I would. I purchased a Jeep 3 1/2 years ago financed by Scenic. I lived in a Motorhome and traveled at the time and still do. I had a family tragedy and lost my job amidst Covid and then the engine in my motorhome seized, two weeks later my Jeep was stolen. I became delinquent on my bills which the rest of my creditors were very understanding about. Not Dan Stephens, Scenic Community's bill collector. At 45 days past due he called, offered no understanding or assistance at all and wanted a location to repossess it in two weeks. I was in the process of relocating across the country and explained I couldn't provide an address. I have had the same contact info since inception. He began calling my contacts, did a background check and called my insurance agent. I was in the middle of an insurance claim from theft and he called the Claims Adjuster and told him that the Jeep was being repossessed which I should add that he now denies even though there are witnesses and recorded conversations. My claim was put on hold and now he is insisting the bank is added to the insurance check and I provide proof of repairs before the check is released. I have abided by our agreement and have more equity in the Jeep even with the damages than I owe the bank. I've had several insurance claims over 37 years of driving and have never in my life experienced this kind of violation. I'm doing some of the repairs myself and have already ordered parts because I'm doing some upgrades and this has been going on 4 1/2 months. While my Jeep sits open to the elements with the insurance claim on hold because of him I'm exploring suing the bank for violation of privacy and Fair Debt Collection practices. Update 1/3/2021 - it’s been two weeks and no one has gotten back to me at all. I even sent two additional emails...no response.

After providing all insurance information SSCU decided, without telling or asking, to steal over 4,000$ to place insurance on a car I already had insurance on for over two years. Stay away from this company. Dan Stephens is a liar he will not do as he says he will do.

Have been member for 7 years paid off two mortgages in 4 years, last one in May 2020. Requested PPE business loan in June, they had no clue regarding the process and did not respond to my questions. Went to another bank filled out application ,supplied some documents and 4 weeks later received loan funds. Lasr week requested auto loan on a used car. They asked for my tax returns! Complained to loan officer about unecessary request of a long term member, she never called back. Went to dealer, completed sale in one afternoon at lower interest. Now have new home purchase, will not consider mortgage via Scenic Community. This is amateur banking in my opinion. Closing my accounts, no benefit in membership.

I recently refinanced my auto loan with Gary Newman. The process was quick and easy did not even have to go in the branch to sign documents. Not only was the service superb but also got me the best rate after shopping two other local lenders. Would highly recommend!

If you choose to do business with this firm which I Do Not Recommend, I suggest you watch your statememts very closely. I noticed my auto loan principal was not decreasing at all after 2 years of consistent , on time payments. I made multiple attempts to speak to someone in the branch and each time I was told they were busy or unavailable. I finally waited for almost an hour on my last visit , and was able to speak to someone who of course gave me someone else's contact info. . I contacted this person and they informed me that I had been charged nearly $2500 on 2 different occasions for auto insurance on my vehicle , because they had not gotten proof of insurance. I immediately provided the proof of insurance for the dates they were claiming to have missed . I followed up by email to.make sure they had received and they agreed they had and the charges would be reimbursed. Upon further examination 2 months later I noticed only half had been reimbursed, so I reach out again and they stated they need more certificates from a year and a half back and 6 months before they even charged for the insurance. It all seems to be a scam , but even at the least, I never received a call, or any form of communication that these documents were needed. It's as if the wanted to charge these charges to my account. To me that is shady, and very poor customer service, and I would not recommend SCCU .

CROOKS!!! This branch added thousands of dollars of insurance to my car loan with my permission and didn't even ask for proof no letter, no phone call NOTHING....we provided proof of FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE through email and were told that the proof would be processed immediately and our account would be credited....here we are 2.5 months later and still fighting this now the lady is stating she needs proof of a different time frame that we weren't even charged the insurance. My question is how many other people has the been done to and never caught....free money for the credit union and the hard working everyday individual is majorly taken advantage of. BEWARE!! We will never use Scenic Community again and will tell everyone not use. Very disappointed
