Navy federal is officially the worst place to try and obtain assistance from the risk of losing your job when you deposit your hard earned money. Officially will be homeless due to this sham of a credit union. As well you need to teach your staff to correctly not to misgender customers. I'm highly insulted and feel as though it's a one sided mind company. After repeated tries to correct them they still do it...

I applied through [Blue & White "i" logo'd Job Listing Site/App], and had prior interest in the posted job due to exposure via family in the past. Getting hired for Navy Federal was a huge pain. It was dozens of emails of paperwork, and appointments, and fingerprinting, and getting to campus, etc. Most of the time, they were on point. A few times however, "Due to Covid", things went awry such as me showing up to campus 30 minutes away and sitting there for almost 2 hours before they told me to just forget about my badge, I wouldn't need it. I remember thinking to myself, and exclaiming on more than one occasion, "This isn't worth all the flaming hoops for 15$ an hour." This was during the onboarding process, so I thought like most that I'd just wait it out and it would be better. The work environment was no better. It was fake and robotic. Plasticky and name branded. I had 5 different managers directly, and countless others from different areas of the company emailing me daily about things I needed to respond to. I was entry level data entry, as my 10 years of customer service, sales, marketing, logistics, AND management were of no use here. So it quickly became a confusing mess of mindless tedium, and overmanaging. The "carrot" of working for NFCU through Aston Carter, is the potential of being offered a full time job on the NFCU team! This comes with pay starting at 22$/hr for the exact same work I was doing! Wow! Maybe if I really work hard, and put in OT, and produce, I'll get hired on and have a super good job! Right? Wrong. On my team, there were contractors, (not NFCU employees), that had been contractors at 15/hr for over 2 years! They actually did most of my real training, all while being required to maintain their own performance with no discrepancies. The REAL kick in the shorts, was when we'd get company wide emails welcoming new members to the team. I worked in Security, but every department received emails for anyone being hired on, period. The HR team would do it to make people feel welcome, and with a bit of a story to them aswell. After about 4 or 5 emails in 90 days showing 18-22 year olds being hired on with little or NO experience, fresh out of high school or college, to the NFCU team for 22-30/hr. It became clear. Nepotism runs deep here. I worked Security and had the tools needed to research my coworkers. 5/5 people that I researched are directly related to higher up NFCU employees, employees/leaders of Black Knight, Healthworks Med Group, or PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC. These are all companies deeply interwoven via relations to their SEC filings, Medical/Employee Insurance, and so on. Researching, linking, and recognizing the nepotism and that I will likely never be hired on regardless of how well I do, I put in notice. The other contractors who trained me were far better than I'd ever be and yet there they were. There's no "race to run" with these people. You're simply the entertainment and the peons to those who would've been hired on over you anyway. So upon placing a 2 week notice and briefly explaining the aforementioned to one Aston Carter employee, I realized it's a pointless mess of racketeering and they were in on it too. Upon attempting to return my equipment to the original place I got it, I was told I'd have to take everything home, (4 large boxes), and SHIP IT TO THEM. Why would I risk things arriving damaged and/or not at all, when I live 30 minutes away. Great Supine Invertebrate Protoplasmic Jellies, all of them.

I've been a member over 30 years and recently applied for a HELOC. The first 3 weeks proceeded as normal- some back and forth, per usual, and a closing date was set. Then there was a calculation error on NFCUs part forcing a change to the loan amount but I was assured the loan would close "in a few days." Its been 4 weeks since then with only a single email communication from NFOC following several calls and emails from me asking for any updates. The email simply said the loan "may still be in the review stage." We are now 7 week in and still have no word on the status of the HELOC. I would strongly recommend NOT using NFCU for loans considering the risk this experience represents.

I applied for an account on 7/15 & received an email stating I need to provide docs to verify identity. I sent my DL & Ins. 7/21 I was denied & told to appeal the decision; it would take 72 hours & I never heard back. I called & spoke to a representative who took my application a 2nd time because she couldn’t find the first one. Once again, I received the verification email. I sent my DL and Ins over & still received a denial. On 7/31 I went to the branch & spoke with Lee. I gave him my vehicle registration and DL. He sent it to the security department & told me to call the following Monday (8/2). I did & was told to contact them again in 72 hours. I went to the branch today (8/7) and was told it was denied because it’s a fraud application. I’m highly offended to be told my application is fraud when I have never committed any such offense. I feel as if I’m being discriminated against. I have provided everything asked for, I been to the branch three times and made numerous phone calls to the security department to get this resolved. All of my immediate family are members of NFCU and I’m trying to switch banking institutions. I have received no fair reason why I’m being rejected. It was ok to serve this country, it was ok for all my family to get accounts and I’m being rejected. I’m a human.

Unfortunately there isn't a ZERO to apply. Any and all positive reviews translate how staff pick and choose how they deal with customers. All others are dealt otherwise. So there is a double standard in customer service, surprise! Two in particular Tina Carr and her always defending her, Supervisor Stephen Todd. So as always with this review will there be a reply dealing with this review? The wait has started. There is nothing more to address regarding these two but to say NFCU exists for who? Another wait.

Loan processing team is awful! They do not return phone calls or emails. They messed up my loan and forgot to schedule the appraisal. They kept delaying everything and did not submit paperwork on time. They had to pull my credit score for a second time because the loan was taking so long! I asked to get switched from Mary guilford to Eric Miller who BOTH do not return emails or calls for at least 10 days which causes loans to take forever to close! We told them to not use my husbands email because he doesn't check it and that's the only place they sent emails to...my email was not CC'd on those emails as well. We had filed numerous complaints and hoping for resolution. Never got one! Seriously do not use them! My loan eventually got cancelled because they took so long to finish the paperwork on their end. Now I have to resubmit an application and start all over! Many people have been having this issue so here's another warning to go somewhere else. I've never had an issue with navy fed til now.

We had three homes that we tried to purchase and all of the employees that we encountered through the process were amazing, Barbara Geisert and Melissa Baker helped us close on the final property but I would also like to recognize Emily Duncan for her outstanding work on the first two homes that did not go through. I are extremely satisfied with every aspect of the process and I can honestly say while it was longer than what we expected, it was at no fault of Navy Federal but the sellers. We were finally able to close on our home and it was due to the hard work and constant communication of these women. Even though Emily was not apart of the final home process, she made it easy to transition to the next officer by continuing to answer questions for us and organizing our file so that everything we had already given her was already in place. I would recommend any of these three ladies to anyone that is applying for a mortgage loan with Navy Federal. They were amazing!

We have to find a way to give 0 stars. I have been going through the mortgage process for over 3 months. The seller has put the house back on the market and I still cannot get anyone to return my calls nor answer emails. You might want to think about it before you go with them for a loan. They will only tell you that it is a high volume and they will get to it. It seems when you get to someone, they ask for your personal information again and then go into a black hole. Sending the same documents over and over again to different people makes me feel very uncomfortable. I am sure they don't miss any lunch breaks.

NATHAN, NATHAN, and more #NathanLove. So my aunt Pam was a victim of a horrible fraud. She has sang praises about him. She called my up crying, saying she could not have gotten through this without his GENUINE compassion, caring, dedication, and kindness. Nathan, if you read this, thank you for going above and beyond the scope of your job for my aunt Pam. Your sincerity and genuine compassion have not went unnoticed. I would love to see you run this company one day! The world needs more people like you.

I have been with Navy Federal for over 10 years I actually love Navy Federal. I would give Navy Federal 5 stars but I to drive 45 minutes one way to get to the closest Navy Federal. I live in Mobile Alabama. when you use the app to see what ATMs you can deposit cash in, several come up. I drove around for over an hour trying to find them, they were non-existent. I tried to call and make a formal complaint they said I had to write a letter to someone. There's a lot of veterans in Mobile Alabama and we need a bank. I had to get a Wells Fargo account. I now see that Wells Fargo has much more options than Navy Federal Wells Fargo apps are better but Wells Fargo charges you more in fees. But there's a lot of things that Wells Fargo has over Navy Federal Credit Union that makes the fees worth it. I would never have found this out if I had a Navy Federal to go to in Mobile Alabama.
