I am about to payoff my student loan consolidation and want to tell you what I learned the hardway about Lendkey. They hold to the philosophy that wire transfers between banks are not secure. That is acording to thier own third tier customer service representatives, which I was told when trying to track a missing payment. Your bank or credit union will call it an electronic transfer or ACH, but Lendkey does not accept these. Your financial institution will have to cut a paper check and mail it to Lendkey. They believe the electronic transfer is not secure, and the US Postal Service is. They want you to further expose your financial information (credit card / ATM card / bank information) by putting that information into thier systems. In this day and age of cyber hacking and ransomware, when all it takes is for an employee to open an email, your information can be taken. Why trust anyone you don't have to? Especially when thier are more secure ways to transfer funds / make payments? Thier interest is not in your security, just in your money.

Sent in a statement from my bank and they repeatedly asked 6 or 7 times to send a statement with a list of items included. My statement had literally everything on it. I even went so far as to contact the banker who opened the loan I was trying to refinance years ago, they also stated that was the official bank statement, with the banks logo, payment address, account history, interest rate, EVERYTHING. Ultimately, that banker said they more than likely would rather sell my information to third parties and make money that way, than to originate a refinance loan for me, though my credit score was good enough, income was adequate and it would have saved me a good bit of money. I cannot say that I would recommend anyone use this method for refinancing a loan. Find your local bank, with competent people who do not just copy and paste something that in the end is truly meaningless and a waste of digital storage space.

This place seems like a scam, I have never given them any personal information and none of the phone numbers on the junk mail they send me are searchable on their website. They have an “opt out” blurb on their junk mail and if you call that number it IMMEDIATELY requests your SSN. Sketchy.

Be aware they will force more money on you than you actually owe!!! I was awarded a higher amount than I wanted to borrow and I called several times tell them I do not want to borrow that much since I do not need it. They told me they had to give me that amount in case there was any charges associated with paying off the loan and that if there is not the money will go back into my principal - FALSE!! They tell you what ever you want to hear so they can give you the loan.... Now I am paying interest on money I did not owe and need to wait for the refund since they overpaid my previous borrower by $2,000. SCAMMM!

Stay as far away from this place as you can. They will drain your accounts, lie to you, charge you extra for any reason and then increase your interest rate illegally.
