I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on this Decatur branch. My checking account was recently closed without notice. For the entire year that I’ve had a checking and savings account with Land of Lincoln Credit Union I have had nothing but issues. My debit card has been locked numerous times for fraud protection despite my confirming the purchases made. It’s been locked for using my debit card too many times in one day. The banking app is constantly not working or the system is down which prevents me from logging onto my account to check my banking information. The drive thru staff at the Oakland location in Decatur have at times been very unprofessional and downright rude. In October 2020 I finally had enough and sat down in person with management to explain my grievances and hopefully put an end to all the issues. The employee I met with did not seem to care about keeping me as a member of this credit union. So I immediately withdrew all of my money except what was needed to keep my checking and savings account open. I was not able to log onto my account for the entire month of November and was not aware of any issues with my account. Finally in December I was able to access my account and found that there was an overdraft charge. The bank never contacted me in any way to inform me of charges and there should have never been any considering that I stopped using the account in October and had no pending transactions coming out. Apparently this overdraft charge was on my account for over 30 days. Since their banking app was down I had no way of knowing this and they took it upon themselves to close my checking account. Again, without any notice, email, letter in the mail or phone call the credit union just closed my checking account. They also transferred the $5 in my savings account that was needed to keep my savings account open without notice or permission. I was told over the phone that I could pay the overdraft charge and that it would correct the issue. However, when I paid the charge in the drive thru I was told my checking account was closed permanently and that I would have to reapply to open another. Unacceptable and unprofessional to not at least notify me about the charge and give me a chance to pay it before just closing my account without notice

So banking with LLCU in the pandemic had been a nightmare. They closed my local branch (without prior warning, they just left a sheet of paper on the door). Calling them is always a 20 minute wait time, minimum. Their app is ALWAYS on the fritz. I have to drive 2 hours to pay a bill now that should only take me a few minutes. Oh, and if you do that, expect to wait in some LONG lines (see picture). Don't get me wrong, every person I have worked with there has been kind and helpful, but every experience I have had lately has been the worst experience of the month, every month, for the majority of this year. (Update: I've been trapped in this line for half an hour, and I've moved 2 places.)

Rollout of new online computer banking system is a mess. Sign-on to the previous system was simple... 1. type in account #, 2. identify the image associated with your account and 3. type in password. It took me 20 minutes to find the correct combination to put into the new system to finally open my account. After multiple attempts to change my user name and password as prompted on the new system, nothing would accept and I could not proceed any further. The two toll-free phone numbers offered for assistance put the caller on hold indefinitely, and I still haven't received a response after sending a message via the chat line hours ago. Very frustrating and embarrassing for LLCU.

Just called to see if they do titles and registration here and they do however, only for those who are members with them. SMH they could have helped in a time like this. I also in formed them that my car that I originally had went Kaput and I still had to go to work. With the DMV down and the paper work I have to do. I just can’t do it online as I have to have a temp plate. At a time like this they could have helped but chose to turn their heads instead! Would not bank here even if it was the only bank left!!!! If you can’t help your community then you have no business continue running in my opinion just no compassion for those in need!

Best place to bank ever, all members are so courteous and polite. When we first moved back to here they couldnt do enough to help us and still treat us like family. Never had an issue ever with anything. Anita helped us set up our accts when we moved here and has continued to follow and help us. Would never bank anywhere else!

I have been banking with LLCU for more than 30 years. I have always had good service here. If I ever need real work done this is the branch to go to, my closest branch I use primarily only for deposits/withdrawals, atm or check cashing. Anything more than that it’s the Oakland branch.

I wanted to exchange 5 fives for $25 ones. The teller would not make change because I was not a member. Seriously? It's cash! You can bet that I will never become one now!

Terrible place to bank at. They would steal money from me and I'd have to go through all kinds of hoops just to get it back. They also screwed me on a car loan. Terms were $350 a month for 66 months and out of the blue they jumped up to $700 a month. Never misses or was late on a payment.

Great place to bank, very helpful employees. Only complaint is that the online banking site is always going bonkers.
