👎stayed at Oceanside c 211, was originally sceduled to stay in September, hurricane came Island Realty would not let us cancel was fored to reschedule for Dec. dirty, black hair all over bathroom walls, no heat, internet worked part time had to keep rebooting modem. Dirty dishes in cubbords $508 for 3 nights. Manager did not care. Never use this company. I would give it a minus 10 if I could. Bottom line they only care about profits and it shows. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! EVER!!!

We absolutely loved loved staying at the Oceanside Villas through Island Realty. Our air conditioner stopped working while we were and they had a technician out the next day! We were very pleased and plan to stay there again next year!

Working with Island Realty was so easy! The staff was friends and the location was easy to find! When arriving at the location was rented it was clean and looked exactly like the pictures online. My only complaint was that the wifi/cell service was awful, but you're there on vacation so you really should be using that anyways I guess!

I really enjoyed the rental house because it fit the size of rental I needed and my budget. However, the carpet could have been cleaner, there could have been TV instructions and a guide with it, and a instructions for the faucet, dishwasher, etc. Additionally, knowing the garbage pickup days could have helped to know when to put the bins by the road to ensure garbage didn't accumulate during my stay. Helpful information would be more current guides to what is on the island, where to go and what to do. Regards, Russell Jones

I am presently in one of companie's long term rentals. The house was a disaster when we moved in (not cleaned or maintained). After we spent our own money to have it cleaned and to perform basic maintenance, we set out to have the major repairs (exposed electrical conductors, missing appliance safeguards etc) to be done by Island Realty. The repair process has been slow and required multiple emails per repair. As I type this, we are in the house with a broken air conditioner- second time in a month. We called yesterday and still have not seen a repairman. All this service for just $3000 per month. Ha!

Terrible customer service. Dishonest company . Don't waste your money. Rented from them. House had no A/C and it was 89 in the house . No offer was made to move us and no solution until the last day of our stay when they brought window units. Promised a refund for the 3 of 4 days we had no a/c finally offered me 40 percent refund . Said it was the best they could do ??? . Isle Of Palms should be ashamed of a company like this doing business .

We love coming to IOP a few times a year. We have been using Island Realty for the past 6 years and are so pleased. Their staff is always polite and helpful. Their rentals are just as described or even better! Thank you for making my traveling to my favorite spot so pleasant!

Worst experience as a owner trying to rent my place out. They wrote the contact as they had 6 months to try and rent my place out or I pay $250. They were trying very hard, the agent would leave lights on and my ac on 66 for i don’t how long until I could make an appearance to the property and saw. This happen multiple times. He started to not say sorry or state he hasn’t been to the property. Multiple times where my emails weren’t answered. He obviously had more important things to do besides rent my place. I’m guessing bc i choose time find a tenant and pay upfront instead the 10% management deal. It’s a mtp property in prime location that I’ve had no problem renting and in fact decided to use a property manager bc of how busy it was. Really a scam of a contract that I learn my lesson on. I suggest owners not to choose this company.

MY CREDIT INFORMATION WAS STOLEN! I booked a vacation rental from Island Realty on June 27, 2016. During the call with the Island Realty agent I had to give my personal information (name, address, credit card #, expiration, security code) to book the stay. The following afternoon I received a fraud alert from my credit card company. My credit card was being used in Charleston, SC. One transaction at Zaxby’s and another at CSA Mobile Pay, which is Chick-fil-a. I was in North Carolina at the time with my credit card. So I called Island Realty to report the incident to their after-hours phone service. I was told someone would call me right back. Never happened. I had to call Island Realty the next day and report it all over again. Island Realty had no record of my call. No record of a credit card transaction. No record of a deposit made. Island Realty began to investigate. In two days they had found a partial recording of my phone conversation with the agent. I inquired about the agent’s employment with Island Realty. Island Realty stood by their employee, stating she was a quality employee who had work for them for quite some time. Island Realty asked me to file a police report with the Isle of Palms Police, which I did. So if this happens again to a future Island Realty customer, there is a record of this type of incident on file with the IOP Police Department. The detective from IOP Police stated she could not prove anything, but in her opinion Island Realty’s software security was breached, allowing my information to be stolen. I tried getting an explanation for this incident from Island Realty, their response, “We can only conclude that your card information not saving must have been human error and nothing more. “ I asked Island Realty for a discount on my vacation rental for this whole fiasco. Island Realty gave me a $75.00 gift card to a local restaurant. Island Realty never admitted responsibility for this incident. Island Realty was prompt and courteous in all aspects of this incident. I just wish Island Realty valued my time and anguish more than a $75.00 gift card. I can only hope that Island Realty has taken or will take steps to improve their cyber security.
Mr. Simpson, We are very sorry for the situation that occurred. We have investigated all facets possible to try and determine what happened in this instance, including with the Isle of Palms police department, the Raleigh police department, Homeaway, Escapia and Expedia as well as internal protocol and procedures. We have not been able to find any breaches. We take our credit card security compliance very seriously and the processor that we use is PCI compliant and to our knowledge has never had a breach of data. We hope that the $75 gift certificate will be useful to you and your guests when you arrive for your stay in August. Due to the fact that there was no monetary loss, both the Isle of Palms and Raleigh Police Departments have dropped their cases. Again, we are truly sorry for the issue and the time that you have spent dealing with it.

We rented number 6 Ocean Park Court Isle of Palms, SC from Island Realty. We often travel for business and stay in 4-5 VRBO type homes every year - so we know what a place like this should look like. This location is great but the property was a disaster - it is - by far the worst experience we've ever had in renting a home. My extended family has owned property in this neighborhood for 30+ years. We attended a reunion and needed another house. This property has been completely neglected: entire interior filthy; floors dirty esp in corners and under furniture had not been mopped in a long time, all a/c vents caked with dust (filter clean), spider webs / cob webs everywhere (spider jumped on my son), dust on all upper surfaces, thin layer of grease film on cooktop vent hood, cooktop wiped off but not clean, no trash can in kitchen, exterior absolutely filthy and dirty, porch areas not clean, litter in yard, highly toxic antifreeze and battery terminal cleaner left in driveway parking area, old ceiling fans with caked on dust. Furniture, end tables old cheap melamine kind, interior looked much like it did when constructed in the 80s, not updated - furniture, beds, bedding old and worn out / tattered. Tiny television. Only bright spot was that the wifi worked well. Driveway falling apart and eroding. Cracks in masonry supports visible when on steps up to entrance. Very sad and disappointed with this house overall. CANNOT recommend. Talked with island realty, who we've done business with over the years - they were polite and responsive, but only offered a 15% rebate. At this point it's not even worth half of what we paid for it. To be honest - in its current condition I would not stay there even if it was free. This rental home NEEDS TONS of WORK! it's condition does not match the quality of the neighborhood.
