I had an unauthorized charge on my debit card so I went in and filed a dispute. It's been three weeks now, the charge is still on my account and they aren't giving me any information. I went in the drive thru a month before that to get quarters for my business. I rang the buzzer and waited almost 30 seconds before the branch manager came and she had the nerves to say I was impatient, made me late so I had to pay the employee to stay extra. There's only one nice person working here, the young female teller is extremely helpful she's the only reason I still have an account there. The rest of the staff can go to hell like they're attitude.

Steer clear; Check out BECU if you're looking for a local bank that knows what they're doing. I hate big banks so I left Chase for what I anticipated would be a friendly local experience in exchange for some loss of convenience. What I actually experienced was an embarrassingly archaic way of banking that is poorly patched together by new-era tech like its duct tape . The staff seem uncomfortable and uncertain, forgetful and inattentive to you individual needs. I can understand why; It's most likely due to poor training and a lack of understanding from the people rolling out the changes themselves. Consider the example below. I had a check to deposit from my lawyer in Newcastle. I stopped at the branch and wanted some cash back so I could gas up and get home. My dogs in the car and its very hot out, which I mention. I watch the teller scan the check and make the deposit, and then she proceeds to tell me she is going to email a copy of the check to my home branch to approve the cash back. I remind her of the dog and ask if I can just make it a straight deposit to which she says no. Then asks me to have a seat where I wait twenty minutes for a branch manager at my home branch to give her the okay. I called my 'Home Branch' while waiting to attempt to expedite the process and see how long the check would be on hold and I was told five days. FIVE DAYS? The check was from a bank in Lynnwood. I asked for the check back and was told it was too late. I asked them to call the bank that drafted the check and verify funds and was told they couldn't. I was blown away by the whole situation and left them shortly afterwards. Also, if you lose your card while anywhere in the world other than Seattle you better pray you wont need cash until you're back. Homestreet doesn't don't partner with any other banks at all and your personal checks must go through a similarly scrutinizing and lengthy process every time you use them on both sides of the transaction.
