Working there is like being a slave. Management is heartless the pay is a joke nor are there any incentives to supplement. I eventually had to quit due to the extreme stress and PTSD it caused me.

Every 1st of the month the ATM is conveniently down until the 4th. Maybe because your a credit union with no money to put in them ????

Went in to my branch to deposit a check and discovered that the CU had changed the rules for minimum account balance. No notice to me that I received. Had been in compliance with their policy but discovered that they had been stealing $5/month from my account. My teller, who was trying to be helpful, contacted supervisory staff to no avail. I closed the account. When I spoke with the supervisory staff and informed them that I had not received notice, either written or via e-mail, they advised that I would have needed to logon to my account online to see the charges themwere imposing. Great example of “customer no-service” when I likened them to Wells Fargo they informed me that they were a credit union and not a bank, which makes my situation even more ironic since a Credit Union is technically owned by its members. I don’t recall voting to steal from myself.

I called today about multiple overdraft fees. The first woman I talked to was very sweet but our call got disconnected. I called back and got a very stern female that was very matter of fact and had no compassion. She didn’t even offer to try to help me. I asked for her supervisor and He was by far the nastiest customer service rep I’ve ever talked to. He was trying to play games with me and even laughed at me at one point. This is just unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I can’t believe this is the cooperate office and this is the customer care culture that Desert Financial condones. I am truly disgusted. With everything going on this year you’d think there would be a little more compassion regarding their customers finances. He wouldn’t give me information on who to talk to about how he treated me either. Clearly he knew he was doing something wrong. I’m so disappointed.

I've had 3 VERY Bad experiences here over the past 2 years. On 1 occasion the ATM malfunctioned during a $1000 deposit and it didn't credit my account correctly and I was missing $900 and it only applied $100. They opened the machine and found Thousands of dollars inside tangled up but they said "oh well the money recovered belonged to 12 other accounts non of which was yours" I had them review the camera footage and they said we saw you having difficulty with the machine for 20 mins trying to make that deposit but unfortunately we couldn't tell the denomination of the bills therefore we cannot credit your account so I had to eat the $900! On another Occasion a year later I reported my card stolen after hours on a Sunday morning. I was told nothing was charged and the card would be closed and I needed to call on Monday to order a new card. Well it turns out the card Was in fact used after I reported it at a Casino for $1200 and I filed a claim but they denied it saying that a signature was used on the receipt and they sent me a copy of it and it was not even close to my signature and I provided a copy of my driver's license to prove it. I also requested a copy of the many videos that were taken be sent to them and they Still Denied it! Finally I was double billed for a $165 car detail and I requested a charge back when I sent them a copy of the receipt and guess what They Denied it! Your bank is supposed to work on your behalf and your supposed to have protection by having a Visa card it's in the Visa contract but they do not honor anything. I also recently requested $36,000 in cash on Tuesday and when I went to pick it up on Friday they refused to give me my money because they said they needed the cash for other customers and they didn't know what happened to my cash order. I had to drive all over the county going to 8 different banks to get the cash I needed and it took another day. This Credit Union is absolutely HIDEOUS AND HORRIBLE. RUN AWAY FROM HERE!

Bank with them for over 10 years and they just get worse and worse over time. Their app is not are streamlined as other financial institutions. They used to be great when they were desert schools but since they've been trying to compete with banks like chase, BofA ect their customer service has gone way done. My experience had an accident and drugged up in the hospital so unable to manage my accounts like I normally would have. No issues in the past. Basically too drugged up to remember/call or access to my accounts and independent so dont have an account manager to move funds over and got hit with 5 NSF fees for items small items ( things like Netflix). Explained my situation said I had paper work, after 15 mins of trying to ask for a lil help or understanding, had to be start acting not so nice to finally get a partial credit for the fees. Their response basically "you should have had paid for our overdraft protection if you didnt want to get charge in case you were hospitalized"

I am leaving them and going to another bank. Their customer service is seriously lacking. I had a customer service rep laugh at me, then when I got transferred to a supervisor, he did not care! He also was very condescending, showed no emotion what so ever and informed me of courtesies other banks provide to their clients that Desert Financial does not. I am so done with them. They have lacked for so long that I am done.

Desert Financial Credit Union is the most inhumane bank my Dad passed away and we have been trying to close his account for months now and they keep giving us the run around and asking for more and more documents because they death certificate, birth certificates, and government issued ids aren’t good enough and this final time they want an affidavit! This is insane if you have an account with them close it immediately last thing you would want is your family members to go through the same thing while their trying to grieve and if your thinking about banking with them you may want to think twice!

If I could think of something really nice to say about this worthless financial parasite, it would go something like this: One star here is a GIFT! This is the crookedest, most uncaring, most incompetent, unethical financial institution I have ever dealt with in more than 50 years in banking and finance. I've been treated better at Bank of Amnesia, the #1 Worst Bank on the Planet. I opened a 5-figure checking account last summer. I was promised my checks within a week to ten days. It was DECEMBER before I finally got either my checks or a statement. And nobody had an explanation. I applied for a debit card. It worked fine until June 15, 2014, when it was suddenly cancelled without notice or explanation. I wasted three hours trying to get a response from the worthless telephone number printed on the card. The next day I was delayed five hours on a pre-scheduled business trip, trying to get someone to explain why my debit card was cancelled. After being assured I would get a new card that was immediately activated if I just drove back to the branch for the 3rd time that morning, I was handed a card that was, in fact, NOT activated. A 4th trip back to the branch revealed the card must wait 24 hours for activation. Then, I was told it would be working by midnight. All of this charade cost me a doctor's appointment fee and the hourly costs of hiring movers, since I had just stood those people up. It turns out, DSFCU cancelled my card because their robots detected possible charges that I "may not have authorized". So, rather than calling me on that phone number they asked me for when I signed up, and asking if I made the charges, they just silently cancelled my card... then sat back with smirks on their faces, wondering how long it would take me to figure out I'd just had my financial rug yanked out from under me. Very funny, DSFCU, that's very funny! Trying to call these sluggish vermin on the telephone will get you NOWHERE. The lazy cowards insist on your telephone when you apply for an account, but never bother to use it, or even answer their own damned phones, when you have an emergency. Meanwhile, I'm not entitled to get my cancelled checks back, a balance worksheet, nor even a legible statement that isn't drenched with their sleazy marketing and loan bullshit. Oh, forgive me, DSFCU! You did give me a credit for the stingy eighty-three cents my 5-figure balance just earned in interest last month. Their fees are outrageous, along with their Holiday hours. Long lines at the crowded Fry's market branch are epidemic. When all is said and done, they're "sorry that I'm upset" - as opposed to being "sorry we messed up". I've never seen such professional yellow-belly cowards in my entire life. Credit Unions are traditionally user friendly. They make easier loans, offer far better rates on loan products and service fees than fee-obsessive banks. But Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is a crooked, lying sham, nothing more than a financial predator; an embarrassment and disgrace to the entire Credit Union industry. Arizona is the land of trigger-happy gun slingers. I'd love to be the fly on the wall when their next victim comes around with his AK-47 and spreads their CEOs' greedy brain matter out like a dog's breakfast all over their shiny polished marble floor. T'would make my day. Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is no credit union. It is a foul, parasitic sinkhole of financial peril nobody deserves.

Worst experience ever at any bank. The those other reviews above must be fake. I think the people there go out of their way to make sure people don't come back. The receptionist was talking to 2 other co-workers at the counter for 5 minutes before I even realized that they all worked there and when I made myself known they were reluctant to help me. The person I met with didn't look at any of the documents that they asked me to bring to my appointment. This was my 2nd visit. The first time I visited the bank I stood in line for over 10 minutes while the tellers did something on their computers by themselves without assisting anybody. I finally gave up and went to the front desk and waited for the co-workers to stop talking to each other. One of them told me that nobody could help me and that I should go to another branch or come back next week.
