I applied for the COVID Relief Grant and was given ZERO transparency into why my application was denied even though I meet all of the criteria and am a Black owned business. When I called in, the customer service rep referred to receiving this grant as "winning the lottery". I quickly corrected and informed her that the $225 million given to these financial institutions for dissemination comes from revenue generated by taxpayers and that there should be transparency in the process. This is egregious and in line with the same practices had by the SBA's EDIL and PPP programs - zero transparency and further crippling small businesses who are the backbone of our economy!
