    To Whom it May Concern: It is with great pride that I send a letter to acknowledge the exceptional customer attention and service I received from Keith Totten during my refinance process with Summit Credit Union (SCU). It is because of Keith I completed the process to fruition. Mr. Totten not only kept me informed but through transparency was able to get my buy-in to complete necessary items to help keep the process moving. As this was my first refinance process many times I wanted to throw in the towel. Keith reminded me of the benefits of the loan, the wonderful interest rate, and my personal goals. Mr. Totten had to talk-me-off-the-ledge since quitting sounded better than seeing the process through because I was impatient. The biggest part of how Keith took exceptional care of me as a member of Summit Credit Union was his full engagement, thorough communication plan, and educating me of the process. I believe he is a shining light to SCU and please note that his integrity was foremost and showed during every encounter. Keith is the reason I saw this process through and now have a mortgage with SCU. I also want to take this opportunity to apologize to Keith for the many days I was not a good client/customer in return of the impeccable service he provided to me. Though Keith provided top-notch concierge service to help me, I sometimes showed up with an unprofessional disposition. Keith did not allow my negative outlook to waver his behavior. For example, calling him multiple times in one day on a subject he had already replied to via email and addressed my questions, having to resend and resend me multiple emails that I later saw I had received, not replying to his emails in a timely manner, failing to actively listen when he had already addressed my concerns and through transparency provided all the details, I needed for the entire refinance process. I am sure it is hard to be the first face of the company in this capacity and taking the brunt no matter what the situation. I apologize for being in that number a few times over the last few months. For business to work well both the business and the customer must partner and work together. Through it all Keith never treated me as a bother but, like “family”. I discontinued my process with Bank of America because of poor customer attention and business representation. Please know that your role pulls people and business together. You are truly an extraordinary project manager and should be noted as such. You keep the process moving and running smoothly. Keep up the great work! If I had a business, I would hire you no matter the cost to work in the same capacity you are currently in in with SCU. “Keith Totten thank you for making me feel well-cared for and an important part of the Summit Credit Union family.” Remember you deserve the best.     My account was moved to Summit from a Company Credit Union. Recently the "5 year clock" or "Guide to Unclaimed Property Financial Institutions & Select Financial Instruments Refer to North Carolina North Carolina General Statute §116B-53 -- Presumptions of Abandonment. " led the management of Summit Credit union to contract out to Sovos in Minnetonka, MN to notify me that Summit Credit would be sending the balance to the State of North Carolina, minus a $50 fee. After four phone conversations with 4 nice people (2 with Summit and 2 with Sovos), a review here explaining the issue, Summit called and resolved the issue. I recommended that Summit review the letters presented by Sovos, or better yet transfer the contacting of dormant accounts to marketing or other branches or the credit union who have the budget and incentive for a more positive outreach. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars today because this issue has been resolved and additionally Summit indicated would be resolving it for others. All is well. Thanks to all.
