I used to love my bank. Now especially since the pandemic. Looking into my account matters are painful. Im being robbed. I never signed up for overdraft. But they have these charges that look like overdraft walks like overdraft even talks like overdraft but per the credit union these are not over draft fees. They told me when online payments are made that are REOCCURRING They let the payments go through. LIES. Ive had never before made and first time purchase go through not knowing There was no more money in my account because of the previous 25 dollar increment non over draft fees. It starts with a purchase that was maybe 10ndollars over then without notification and im signed up to receive every notification possible. I just don't get notified for this. Why? The bank can just keep taking more money. 25 dollar fees for first time payments of 2.99 and 25 dollar penalties on authorization charges of a dollar in which the service that was looking to authorize. I was declined! I've even got 25 dollar clearing fees thats what they are calling them clearing fees. Even after depositing my check from work. The same check from the same company I work for that I deposit on every other Friday that I have to wait until mid week after that Friday to have access to the funds. I've received these clearing fees and deposited cash the same day I was charged and it doesn't matter to them. They say its only for reoccurring payments that I make online but it's a lie Ive purchased things foe the first time to be surprised that I was charged a clearing fee. Now this isn't the norm. I just recently had my hours cut back and my checks have been a lot smaller than I expected and with social distancing im making more online purchases and have noticed. 25 dollar charges add up to hundreds very easily especially especially if it's happening on charges ranging as low as 1dollarr and 2.99 theyve taken more money than Ive spent.its heartbreaking to be honest. I dont know how they pick and choose what to clear because I can't tell you how many times I've had plenty of money and they've blocked my card due to suspicious activities and dont even think about trying to have it lifted through verification after 6 pm or on the weekends. Its not happening. You will be sitting through the weekend with no access to any of your money. I'm a single mother and. Its already stressful times these days but If I take to many Lyft rides and withdraw 20 or 40 dollars from an ATM my card gets blocked I cant make any other transactions and use money I have in my account until I call and confirm.purchases but they can authorize which ever payments they choose when there arent enough funds and then charge me what seemz like a limitless amount of 25 dollar clearing fees. I've called and have been told there is nothing I can do about this except be more responsible about my spending. Now there is truth in that but what about their part. Why couldn't they have just declined the card and not allow payments to go through. Just as they do when they shut me off for suspicious activity. Theyve said that I'm more than welcime to come into the bank and speak to someone. Sure I'd love too when should I come in while I'm at work until 430 then rushing to pick my son up from childcare when they close at 5pmn or on the weekend when they are closed. I thought it was illegal to charge people accounts like this but I guess there's. Loop hike

This is the worst Credit Union I have ever used. Everything I have tried to accomplish with my account, from replacing an ATM card to using the mobile bill pay app, has been nothing but inconvenient. The mobile bill pay app does not work. You are lucky to even be able to successfully log in to the system without a network error. Once you are able to log in, you cannot pay any bills with it. When you call the customer service number listed on the website the agent can't help you their either.
Ivy, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your experiences with us have not been satisfactory. It's hard to find words to describe how much San Francisco Federal Credit Union has done. About 70 days ago I applied for the two month COVID-19 payment relief- because I was laid off at work. I was told that everyone would be approved for the program, and I didn't have to worry about making my payment. However, they also explained that they were extremely understaffed and unorganized- So I would continue to get delinquent notices in the mail. They also said they would continue to try and take the money out of my checking account, however I shouldn't worry about any of it... They explained, they are so overwhelmed with requests that there is simply nothing they can do about it.... Nevertheless, about five different employees insured me that this wasn't going to ruin my credit! I'm very proactive, so I called over and over. Each time I received a delinquent notice I called. I tried to elevate the issue to a supervisor, because it seemed very strange- After 60/70 days to still be getting threats and notices. They said they were so overwhelmed, and so unorganized, and so understaffed, that they simply could not process the COVID-19 relief applications. However, once again they promised that it would absolutely NOT destroy my credit! I just received a notice from my credit monitoring service. San Francisco federal credit union has reported my accounts as being over 30 days delinquent. It brought my credit score down 63 points. I was planning on buying a house next year. This has ruined my life. I will have to file bankruptcy now to get this off my record. With that devastating hit, there is no way I could ever buy a house. I'll have to just start over through bankruptcy... Their gross negligence has destroyed my future. I've never been hurt so bad by a business. I can still barely believe what's happening. It's like a terrible dream. Whoever was responsible for processing the COVID-19 payment relief applications need to be fired immediately. Whoever is in charge of that department should have told all their superiors that if they don't get help processing theses request, thousands of peoples credit could be destroyed. It's absolutely disgusting that someone let this happen. There is just no excuse for it. The credit union needs to completely cut ties with whoever was responsible. If the bank didn't have a staff in place to process the requests, then they needed to hire more people. Or get all hands on deck from within the organization. It's so negligent to just let all your members credit get destroyed, because you don't have the resources to process requests! It's just a disgraceful thing to do to your member. You could've at least told members that the program wasn't available... Instead, you said everything would be fine and then destroyed our financial futures. All my dreams & plans have gone out the window now. I have never been late on a single payment in my 20 year credit history. That was the most important factor for me in maintaining an acceptable credit score. All of the sudden, my credit plummeted down 63 points, because of SF Federal credit union. It's devastating- but I know I'm just one person and it might not be a very big deal in the eyes of this bank... However, they received thousands of requests. Now, the credit of thousands of their members could be ruined. Hopefully my case was unique, but I highly doubt it... There is nothing you can do once it happens, so please be aware. Their negligence & lack of organization can destroy you. San Francisco federal credit union- Please, Please, Please try to help in any way possible. Please hire an attorney to contact the credit bureau's and get this removed from my record, or whatever it takes. This issue needs to be elevated to the CEO and every supervisor possible. Although I'm just one person- If you destroy the credit of every single one of your members who applied for the COVID-19 payment relief- it's going to be absolutely devastating for your reputation.
Ryan, thank you for your review and sharing comments on your experience. Since March, San Francisco Federal Credit Union has helped hundreds of members and deferred payments on over 1,000 loans. My apologies that the service you received was not consistent to the expectations we try to consistently offer. I have sent you a private message on YELP with the contact information to our Chief Lending Officer who would very much like to speak with you and review your situation.

I inadvertently left my ATM card in the ATM machine and asked that a replacement be expedited since I live off the card. Additionally, I have several monthly payments that are tied to that card. SFFCU charged me $25 to expedite a card which they said in writing that I will receive in no more than four working days. My replacement card was processed on Monday so you would think I would have the replacement by no later than Friday. When I failed to receive the card on Friday I called their offices. Spoke with Stephanie who assured me she would get me a tracking number that day, i.e., Friday. When I failed to get the tracking number I called back a second time and spoke with Ryan. Ryan assured me I would have the tracking number by Tuesday, January 22. Needless to say that tracking number never arrived and neither did the replacement card. In the meantime I am having vendors contacting me saying that my card is disable and that they are charging me late fees. Adding insult to injury telephone customer support passes me to member services and member services tells me to contact phone support. Bottom line is its obvious that they never sent me a replacement card but charged me $25.
