This organization is so backwards its unbelievable. Do not bank here if you need or enjoy common modern banking conveniences like ATM deposits or phone deposits that exceed $2500. Additionally, any transactions take 3 - 5 days to be processed which is unbelievable. Also their lobby hours are 9 - 4 Monday to Friday. When are people who work supposed to go to the bank?

    Response from the owner

Hello fleuger99, thank you for taking the time to provide your comment regarding recent experiences you’ve had with R Bank. We take customer feedback very seriously and are always looking for opportunities to improve our service. We were unable to locate your account in order to contact you regarding the frustrations you’ve experienced, but if you’re open to discussing this further, please call our Round Rock West branch at 512-600-8100 and ask to speak with Rick Buckner, our Banking Center Manager. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right.

These guys give the best customer service I've ever experienced. They always go the extra mile to make sure their clients are satisfied. I'm moving out of the state soon and I don't know when I'll be back in Texas, but either way I plan on staying with R Bank for life. Shout out to Kay Lacy for being the personal representative that has worked with my family for the last 3 years or so. You guys rock.

Update: When I raised these concerns... the next day they called me back and told me they were closing my account. Nice. No options.. just closed my account. DO NOT USE THIS BANK AVOID! I was excited about the banks High Yield Checking and small bank feel. However, three weeks in I am seriously doubting if I will keep the account. Here are a few of the reasons. * The debit card (a MasterCard) requires you to spend more than $1.00. It was hot today (really in Austin?) and I tried to buy a bottle of water for $0.48 at HEB. DENIED! * You can only deposit checks at the bank. No deposit at ATMs! No photo check deposit (like Chase, ING, TruWest, well just about everyone). * Online web service looks like it is out of the late 90s. For a brand new bank. Which should mean they have ZERO baggage of poor old systems.. this feels like a bank that started from the last century. Can I overcome these issues? We shall see. These issues do not happen at most large banks (problems there) or at Credit Unions. Can they change? I sure hope so, I had a very very nice conversation with the personnel. They really are nice.. but not very willing to help. Their answer when I brought this up was that's the way it is. I responded not good enough. Go back, and find out what you can do better.

We had success with Hollis Bone, and went forward with our mortgage/refi. We did not have much luck with Shonnie Stapp who wanted me to do her job and start making phone calls for her. We tried to use them again, and were ready to go forward with a new mortgage person, but after leaving the branch one day, Shonnie was waiting in that person's doorway watching me and waiting for me to leave. I'm sure she wanted to say a lot of things about our last experience. She's not good with following up or returning phone calls promptly, and if they want business, they should be doing the work, not asking clients to pick up the phone and call around for appraisers. That is their job. I never heard any follow up on this customer service experience, but we were happy using another mortgage rep at the same office. I like R Bank, just not the experiences I had with Shonnie. I also noticed that her last name is the same as the President & CEO.

    Response from the owner

Dear Mr. Rogers: Thank you for making us aware of your experience at R Bank. We, across the entire organization, strive to deliver quality services and products, with the goal of exceeding expectations. Sometimes, however, we fall short of that goal, and I’d like to apologize that we fell short of that standard with you. We are a people-oriented business and sometimes people makes mistakes. We’re only human. I do wish I had known about your experience sooner, and we could have visited about it directly rather than through electronic means. Regardless, we will use this as a learning opportunity, one that will make us better. If you’d like to visit further about the situation, I would be more than happy to receive your call. Sincerely, Mike Shaw Chief Credit Officer

Had a realtor friend tell me to try R Bank for a loan and let him know how it goes and he might contact them for some business. I called and no one answered the phone !! It rang and rang and then I was asked to leave a message and they would call me back. Sounds like another bank I used that handled business this way. no thanks

Couldn't disagree more with some of these postings. These folks are extremely professional and very, very helpful. The least convenient aspect of their banking is the physical locations. But that is my issue not theirs. Interest rates are fantastic.

The service used to be amazing with small community atmosphere. Now, they are busy, slow and unfriendly.

    Response from the owner
