I had no idea this place had gotten so bad been using this branch for years, even got my wife switched over. Recently they have really dropped the ball, the workers at this location are extremely incompetent and fail to do some of the most simple request. They give unrealistic time frames for things causing the customer to waste their time. Not to mention I just found out their currency exchange rate is horrendous, leaves you feeling like you've been robbed by your own credit union. Hopefully management gets the incompetents figured out or I'll find a different credit union.

Don’t listen customer financial needs , instead of it trying to sell all possible existing bank products . was irritated by little kid, limited professional communication with all members of family during a visit, don’t listen carefully

First all you need to do is look at all the most recent one star reviews and see the incompetent staff that works there. My problem persists particularly with their branch manager Kristen. She is the most uninformed horrible manager I have ever came across. I had a LOC with them and I lost my job and worked out a extension payment plan to have a three month extension to pay on my LOC. It was a contracted document that I went into the branch and spoke with a representative to set up and didn’t have to pay for three months. Literally two weeks later they went into my account and took out the little amount that I had just a few hundred dollars and left me with nothing I went into the branch show them the documents even spoke to the manager Kristen who told me there was nothing she could do and couldn’t return the money. I receive no further assistance through their call center or any other branches. We ended up being evicted and losing our place we were displaced for several months due to this error. Now after getting back on track. I have retained legal counsel since this was due to breach of contract. My attorney recently set forth the motion outlining this case to their legal department, Washington County Court House and attn to Rob Stuart and Jim Armstrong. Since the branch manager of this location Kristen is outlined in this case she will probably be pulled from the branch by their legal department to discuss the outline of the motion set forth that was due to her reckless management. Read the reviews and avoid this financial institution at all cost there is so much competition with reputable names who actually care about the communities they serve not this place **UPDATE 12/18/2021** The Washington county ninth circuit district court judge ruled the case in my favor OnPoint had to pay settlement to me for my loss. Today my attorney received my settlement from OnPoint to the value of $9,557. I’ll because they messed up and cost me displacement to the tune of almost 5K. All new potential customers reading this should know this. Don’t let financial institutions try to give you excuses to cover their mistakes. I’m taking my settlement and the extra that I received from them to another financial institution.

My mother in law and wife went into this branch to deposit money while myself and father inlaw stayed home to take care of my 2 year old. While in the branch my wife tried to deposit a check and the branch manager said " we need to see the account this is coming from " then loud enough for the entire bank to hear " miss you have no money in your account" announcing my balance and wife's balance during a pandemic and severely embarrassed my wife and mother in law. All of the representatives do NOT know the proper rules regarding checks and 2 to 3 people are contradicting each others information regarding the release time of checks. All the representatives and manager said out loud how much money was on my wife and mother inlaw. Announcing it to the entire bank. Imagine if my wife left along with her mother in law and someone knew they had a sum of money on them? Oh yeah onpoint you lost my business and I'm furious. Update 2nd visit 5/28/2022 Went in to apply for a loan. Loan officer after less than 5 minutes of talking with me immediately pointed me to the exit. She didn't take her time with me she was in a rush to get out the door at 1pm. I have everything needed to qualify for the loan but instead of taking the time to take care of me she told me to email her and said please exit out the front door. I have no interest to work with her now. Arun Singh is her name. In customer service you don't rush someone out the door to accommodate your own needs. I have a pregnant wife about to give birth in a week and I'm trying to get my loan situated.

I went to this Onpoint location on 03/01/21 at 3:24 pm to get a cashier's check, which I have done several times and they only ask for your member number and driver's license ID for verification. However, the bank teller asked for my debit card as well which I thought was strange.I asked her why she needed to see my debit card too, but she ignored me. She either didn't heard me asked the question or she didn't have a good explanation as to why she needed it. She had my driver's license ID, member number card, and debit card on her table lined up. I have been an Onpoint member for 9 years and this is the first time I have been asked for my debit card. In fact, on January 2021 I asked for a cashier's check also and I was only asked for my member number and driver's license ID. If there was any new changes implemented the correct course of action is to inform your members of the changes and/or at least explain why you need to see the debit card too. It would also be good to see consistency in regards to showing proof of identity i.e. member number and driver's license ID only.

    Response from the owner

Angelica, Thanks for sharing your concerns. You're correct that the member number and driver's license are all that is required to process your cashier's check request. Many of our Teller's also request debit cards as it helps to identify the account and process the request quickly - this happens more often now since masks can make communicating difficult. We apologize for any miscommunications and appreciate your patience as our team works to provide the best possible member experiences during a difficult time. If you would like to discuss your concerns in more detail, please send us your contact info via direct message, or we can connect the next time you visit the branch. Thanks for your membership, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Sincerely, -OnPoint

We went to a local well known bank location (not in a grocery store) where we currently do business and tried to open a business account. We were ignored when we walked in and had to flag someone down to help us. We were told that no one was available to open an account (3:00 on a Wednesday?) and that we would have to make an appointment to open an account on Friday. We left that bank and went directly to OnPoint. We were greeted by Jeff S. immediately and the process of opening our account was started within minutes of our arrival. It was a very pleasant experience! Thank you OnPoint for being there for our needs.

    Response from the owner

Sandy, Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience! Jeff will be thrilled to hear about your review. Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. Welcome to OnPoint! Best, -OnPoint

I've never had an issue here. The staff is always friendly and professional. I was there this morning and the line was getting a little long, one of the managers came over and took me to their office to help me. I'm much more happy here than I have been with other, national banks.

    Response from the owner

Cate, Thanks for your kind words and for choosing OnPoint. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best, -OnPoint

Warning! There is no one here who will take responsibility for helping you resolve a problem end-to-end. After nine years... count them... 9, we are still unable send electronic payments, even to utilities who we are certain accept them. Nine years ago, we ran into a problem, were given an 800 number and a code to call. After more than an hour on the phone, we were told the issue was resolved on that end, and OnPoint had been notified and would re-activate the electronic payments. We have been able to pay by share draft, but not electronic payments. We have opened a new e-checking account, hoping that it would resolve the issue. Nope. We have been to the branch and spent a good long time waiting while the nice lady talked to someone in support: If we just made five more payments over the next month, the system will notice and electronic payments will kick in again. Nope. Zach, in support, responded to our most recent message with "I'm sorry the branch gave you bad information." Information that the branch assistant got from them. Evan, in his response, politely made clear their position: "If you need the payments sent a certain way you would need to make the payment with the merchant directly from their website. " True, but aside from the convenience of paying all the bills at once on in Bill Pay, we'd like to be able to track which household payments have and have not been paid in the account. Evan nicely explained that it's an "algorithm" and there's nothing that can be done about it. News Flash! An algorithm is not a natural law. Computers do what *people* tell them to do. It is people who are accountable, not algorithms and computers. Rarely have we been treated in so cavalier a way by a business. Don't even try *calling* Support; it's a maze of menues and waiting on hold only to be disconnected. Life is short. There are better things to do than watch these folks find polite ways to tell you they can't do their job.

Probably the worst place you can put your money. I have been with OnPoint since I was 6 years old when they were Portland Teachers CU. I also worked for them and left the company in 2016. Up until a few years ago, OnPoint had been an excellent place to bank but I can no longer stand doing business with them. Seeing the ins and outs of the company, everything is basically manually run and act like they're operating out of the 1920's. Don't expect to get your deposits in a timely manner either. Most banks will post deposits at midnight, with OP you must wait until someone is in the office at 7 am and even then, 7 am is not guaranteed! Pre-authorizations disapear over the weekend causing you to overspend and overdraw your account, you basically have to keep track of your charges like balancing a checkbook. Their online/mobile banking platform is a joke. The app is basically a web-friendly version of the full site. They used to have excellent rates on auto loans but now they can't even say that. If you have other options for banking, definitely go with one of those. I will be taking my business elsewhere after 20+ years of membership.
