I have a car loan that the smart, professional and straight talking, Rachel Simmons, helped us to procure a few years ago. When I recently wanted to get a HELOC, I tried Bank of America. That was a tremendous mistake. They lure you in with the promise of a generous loan and low interest rate. Then, they torture you. After 3.5 months, the counter offer was 12% of what they had originally told us we qualified for. Our Underwriter apologized profusely and admitted that the huge discrepancy was due to a disconnect internally between the Retail side and the Corporate Underwriters. And, we are people with excellent credit, etc. So, cut to yesterday when I reached out to Rachel. She was able to quickly gather some information, gave me a quote but said she could not guarantee that will be the amount, told me the rate, and said that she could have some kind of decision in a week, and that the entire process could take a month to six weeks. What a breath of fresh air. I have obtained two mortgages and have refinanced at least three times in my life. I have never been so misled by a financial institution like I was by Bank of America. One of the positive outcomes of this awful experience with BofA was that it made me appreciate the straight forwardness and honesty of a person like Rachel Simmons and an organization like OnPoint. I don't even have a loan yet, but am already so happy that I am working with Rachel and OnPoint no matter what the outcome.
Maria, Thanks for taking the time to share the details of your recent experience with Rachel. Our goal is to always put people first - we're happy to hear that's been your experience so far. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Best, -OnPoint

09/21/21 I work in the hospitality industry as a server, and came to this location to deposit my tips through the ATM. It wasn’t the most pleasant experience as one of the employee members seemed very unwelcoming. RACHEL SIMMONS was standing less than 20 feet of the ATM glaring at me. This isn’t the first experience I’ve encountered with this woman. Moment after, she went back inside and the ATM shut off. I’m frustrated because I still use my bank from back home (UTAH), and depositing cash from OnPoint is the only way I can put money into my account. As a credit Union I hope you learn to treat your clients and those utilizing your credit Union ATM’s with more care. Very very disappointing.
James, Thank you for taking the time to share your concern with us. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience in greater detail. If possible, please send our branch your contact info here: https://www.onpointcu.com/schedule/ We hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, -OnPoint

This is a great bank branch. The staff is so helpful. Even if they think something can't be done they go to great lengths to try every work around to get the information or the problem solved. I've been a member since 1980 when it was Portland Teachers Credit Union and this is one of the best branches. I do almost all banking online but when you have a problem it is good to have a helpful branch to go to for help.
Sal, Thanks for continuing to support OnPoint (and PTCU) through the years. It takes great members to make a great credit union and we appreciate your membership. Please let us know if you need help with anything else. Best, -OnPoint

After long consideration, I decided to switch from the big national bank I had been with for years(for ease during travel) and wanted to put my money the closest credit union, OnPoint. I walked into this branch with my most recent paycheck and was able to open a Savings/ Checking account and got a new debit card within 15 minutes of entering. Great service and close to home. A+
Kyle, Thanks for the excellent review! Welcome to the OnPoint family. Best, -OnPoint

My friend recommended Onpoint to me last year and I have never had a better banking experience. The staff members are friendly and efficient and I appreciate the service I have received from them since day one.

The staff are friendly, understanding and polite. I go to this bank regularly and weekly and not once can I say a single bad thing about them👍 I cannot express my appreciation to the people who work there and the convenience of the location of this bank, they don't act like robots and they treat every question and transaction with care and understanding. Keep up the fantastic work Harvey & milk👍 I will be staying with Onpoint
Chase, Thanks for your kind words! It means the world to our team. Thanks for being a member! Best, OnPoint

I can't express how much I am constantly impressed with the customer service at OnPoint. Even though I moved out of state, I continue to bank with them because they treat me like a person, not a dollar sign. From excellent checking account service to credit cards to loans, I'm staying with OnPoint!!
Shadia, Thanks for sticking with us! We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing the great service for years to come. Please let us know if you need help with anything. Best, -OnPoint

I tired to open an checking/saving account here. I have had really good experience with credit unions in the past and was surprised that not only was I unable to open an account but how unfriendly and unwelcoming I felt during the process. I recently moved here and have an out of state id. I start a job tomorrow and wanted to get this done while I had time. After a quick chat with his manager, I was told I couldn't be helped and the employee returned to his computer screen. He ignored me while I gathered my things, and not only didn't thank me for stopping by, he didn't even acknowledge me when I walked away. I was not impressed!!!
David, we understand your frustration, and we apologize that we were not able to provide this service for you at this time. We always strive to provide excellent member service to everyone who walks through our doors, although it appears that in this instance, we may have missed the mark. We hope that you will consider banking with OnPoint in the future and we'll continue to reinforce member service best practices with our entire team. Sincerely, OnPoint

I work downtown, so this is the branch I visit most often. The staff are always really friendly, and depending what time you go in there are 1-3 tellers available. I've never waited more than 5 minutes, and usually go in between 4-5:30pm. There is also a change machine here, which is super convenient.
Tina, Thanks for taking the time to write your review. We're glad to hear that you've had great experiences your branch! We hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, -OnPoint

UNBELIEVABLE!!! My wife makes a transaction at this branch today and teller #2726 helps her. At the end of the transaction he makes this comment. "WOW!! What you going to do with all this money?" Not another word. My uncomfortable wife walks out. I make the attempt to call and speak to the branch manager Gina, and all she tells me and my wife is that's how we determine if your money should be invested in our company. No apology, no ability to determine her employee probably needs better training, no explanation why I have NEVER heard this approach in 4 years from any other On Point employee. She could care less my wife was offended. Really considering leaving this company.
