I
DO NOT BANK WITH THIS CREDIT UNION!! They had a fake promotion going which I was told that you only need to have 1. Online banking, 2. a deposit into the account with 90 days and 3. have it opened by Dec 31st, 2021. However, they don't tell you that it has to be over $500 to get the $200 promotion. So they are running a scam so they don't have to pay it out, and lying to there members. I emailed and tried to call the manager of this branch and the person that made the mistake, and never heard back from them. They didn't want to face the music, and fix there issue. Second issue, Applied for a loan, was approved but they would pay creditor (which is what I was fine with, that is what I wanted) but stated I had to take the full amount of the loan, even though the amount I was approved for was more then my debt amount was. So they wanted me to pay them money and interest on money that wouldn't be sent to any other creditor, I wouldn't have access to, and would not leave the credit union! Which has to be a form of fraud. Thinking about report that to the CFPB and NMLS (unless they can correct it) So glad I declined the loan and closed my membership. (Also love how it takes 2 week to mail a check for money that is rightfully yours. Mail from Eugene to Eugene doesn't take two weeks!) Like they don't want to let go of money that is not there's. The loan officer and loan processor also need some customer service training. Finally there call center phone tree doesn't work. You have to just say "representative" and hopefully get to someone, or hope they will call you back to have the warmth of a TSA screener! Go bank at OCCU were they actually care and take care of you! Stay far away from OnPoint. Don't deal with the headache!
Ian, Thank you for sharing your concerns. Whenever we provide new account opening incentives we always provide ample details about the requirements. Our goal is to grow our membership in a meaningful way and this can only happen if we offer transparency from the initial account opening. Additionally, the loan experience described also does not align with our policies and how we deliver loans, nor does this description match our records. If possible, please stop by the branch or reach out to our team and we can review the loan details with you. We hope to hear from you soon and look forward to the opportunity to discuss this experience in greater detail. Sincerely, -OnPoint

I've been with onpoint for years. Before they had their other locations infact. They have out done themselves this time. The intrest rates right now are to completely die for. I can't wait for my next journey. The best part is I can do it by myself.🥰
Sunee, Thank you for your support! We're happy to hear that you appreciate our great rates! Best, -OnPoint
I
Very fraudulent company. I have had my car loan through OnPoint for the last three years. I have always made all of my payments on time and have had no issues. I have always had my payments made through AutoPay. I get the paper statement every month but I usually throw them away since it just shows my autopayment amount and my balance. Around two months ago, I happened to be looking at my statement and was shocked to see that they had added $3,304 to my car balance by placing a so called "lender's insurance" for my vehicle. I called the credit union and asked about this charge. They informed that they had done this because I hadn't provided proof of car insurance. I told them that I have had the same car insurance since I purchased the vehicle. They told me that they will remove it once I send them my car insurance card. I sent them this information immediately and thought that this chapter was closed. Around a month later, they sent me another letter saying that the information I provided wasn't sufficient to removed the $3,304 charge. It says that the three requirement to waive this charge is that I list OnPoint as the lienholder on my insurance and I do not have more than $1.000 deductible for collision and comprehensive. I meet all these requirements and have met them since I purchased the vehicle. They only asked me for the insurance card earlier and that is what I provided to them. Now I have provided them more detailed information from my insurance company that shows that I meet all these requirements. This is a very fraudulent thing to do and I don't know how many other people are being scammed. First of all, they never sent any email, letter, or any phone call asking me for this information before charging me over $3,000 in forced insurance. Secondly, they have never asked me for this information in the past three years and I have had no other charge. Thirdly, they hiddenly add this to the account balance so that the customer does not even suspect this fraud because the monthly auto pay amount remains the same. Please check your account carefully if you are customer of this credit union. Stay away from companies like these. They may give you very interest rate in the beginning but will charge you a lot of bogus charges without giving you any notice
Thanks for sharing your concern and for providing the required insurance info on your loan. Please understand that proof of insurance is required for all auto loans. Sincerely, -OnPoint

They are customer friendly. Much different then a standard bank.
Carla, Thank you for your membership and your review. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Best, -OnPoint

DONT USE THE ATM HERE!!! I went to deposit cash into my bank account like I usually do, the ATM wouldn’t allow me to make any selections and when I ran out of time it ATE my debit card, litterally shredded it. The machine is cheap and I wouldn’t wish this to happen on my worst enemy, so inconvenient!!!

I recently switched to On Point from Wells Fargo and could not be any happier with the change. The best thing about On Point is their customer service; I was amazed that they knew my name after only banking there for a couple of weeks, they are always bright and cheerful and put a smile on my face. Really, their customer service can't be rivaled, I've banked at a few places and they are by far the best. I wouldn't change financial institutions if you paid me.

I love credit unions and have realistic expectations. Also I have been an OnPoint member from about 1998. I give up on them. I knew it was coming - I was warned. But now I know for sure that they are part of the problem anymore, they are what I was trying to get away from back in the day. I want to do business with people who are part of the solution. The fake name, the advertising, the unrealized systems/processes, the employees that more often than not seem like it's always their first day, few (none) advantages over non-credit union banks of any sort, the member "levels", the direct mailers, no connection to the community and the selling of our information (for the various deceptive and random direct mailers). I have seen services lowered gradually for a long time. I will be closing our accounts. More specifically I had to file a complaint against their loan practices based on discriminatory conduct with the state. They applied multiple standards to our loan that was not expressed in any way by them before hand (it's not part of their application or request for information "officially"). So part of our argument was that it was made up, because it seemed non-nonsensical and there is no history of it being applied to similar loans. Also there was general laziness, some of the "questions" they had for us were easily explained/figured out in the paperwork we provided, but required us to tell the loan officer - "it's there on page ... such and such". Based on ever thing mentioned I would not recommend doing business with them.

I have been a member with OnPoint community credit union for several years now. Over the last 2 years I have been working hard trying to build and establish my credit. I went into my branch needing an automotive loan and talked with Stephanie Bradshaw about my options. I explained to her that my credit still had some "negatives" but was assured that we could work something out. Although still hesitant to take a "hard pull" on my credit score I went ahead an submitted the application. While the application was processed I was told my student loans were showing up as "default". I explained to her that all of my student loans were restructured and taken care of a year ago. She told me to send her proof of that and we could make something work. I eagerly went home and sent her an email showing all student loans current and out of default. The next day I received a call from her telling me my application had been denied and there was nothing else she could do for me in an extremely disrespectful and rude manner. (I even recorded the conversation to prove it) I understand the reason I was denied was because of MY credit. But I expect to be treated as a human being and not another mark for your monthly loan quota. High pressure sales tactics at a "credit union" make me sick. Stay away from these guys when it comes to any sort of loan! Dealing with Stephanie was worse than dealing with a HWY 99 lemon lot car salesman.

I switched to OnPoint from US Bank and am highly satisfied. The customer service is exceptional and there is no hidden fees or gray areas when you bank here. Highly recommend!

I initially started doing business with OnPoint Eugene due to our non-profit OMRA relationship which was established in Hillsboro. After a few months of experiencing their excellent service here in Eugene I switch all of my personal and family business to OnPoint. We have been happy OnPoint customers for 3+ years now.
L D, thanks for the great review and for being an OnPoint member! Sincerely, OnPoint Community Credit Union
