My experience today with this branch was horrible. EVERY time I use this shared branch, it’s an issue. My CU is affiliated with this one sadly & they have the lobby closed. I thought it would be a quick transaction to DEPOSIT money into my account. I pulled in & got into a long line of cars with only two open lanes. I waited about 40 minutes until it was my turn. Once I pulled in & provided my account number, the teller couldn’t find my account. I called my CU in Tennessee & asked for my savings account number. Then, the teller asked for my old TN license. Of course, I didn’t have it. So I asked the TN teller on the phone to upload the NC license. While waiting for that, I was cursed out by the customer behind me, & the teller asked me to circle the building again to get back in line. The branch manager walked outside & told me he was calling the police. All that for a DEPOSIT? It was an awful customer service experience & I hope NO ONE goes to this branch & deals with service like this.

I do not recommend this Credit Union. First without disclosing it they pull your credit to open a simple checking account resulting in a 10 POINT hit to your credit score. I was sooooo livid about this. Who makes a hard inquiry into your credit, just to open a checking account. If this doesn’t discourage you from moving forward I don’t know what will. On top of that I was unable to access my account or make any deposits then I see a -$5.00 on the balance. How do I have a -$5.00 when I haven’t even been able to access this a account upon opening it. I opened the account a week ago, I’m closing it this week!

I have accounts here and it has gone down hill really bad! The building is full of employees but the Lobby isn’t open and they only have one drive thru line to take care of transactions. Closing all accounts .

I have two savings account, one checking account, a mortgage account and an escrow account at this Bank. Today I came to pay my mortgage and I also needed to use the restroom. In the past I have been able to use the restroom there before, but today they would not let me in the lobby to use it. I subsequently urinated on myself. If I can't use the restroom at an institution where I have five accounts, I'm going to start closing down those accounts one by one. You will not be making money off of me and then denying me entry when the sign outside says "Lobby open by appointment, please call and we will escort you in". Also, every time I close an account I'm going to sit in your drive-thru and painstakingly count and recount out every bit of those thousands of dollars you're losing.

I have always had excellent service at NOVA credit union. Dawn G. has helped me several times and that's been a great experience. Today I was helped by Noelle (sp?). Her service was excellent and she was very polite, friendly and professional. She knew just what to do and was very understanding, especially in regards to delayed mail. Thank you ladies and all the NOVA staff who have helped me. We are satisfied customers and, yes, we recommend NOVA Credit Union highly. SuperNOVA'S !!

This credit union is comprised of the most uncooperative and uncompromising staff. My experience has been mostly with the Charlotte location however I have dealt with other branch offices and I can assure you this atmosphere is company wide. I, like many signed up with this credit union at pse orientation for the Postal Service some years ago. The main draw was that paydays were two days earlier than your regular payday once direct deposit is setup. Fast forward , I have a car loan and in the past have had holiday loans that have been paid off in a timely fashion. Suffice it to say I would be considered to be “in good standing” anywhere else. Last year, I tried applying for a holiday loan and was denied. I explained that all of my accounts are in good standing with no late or missed payments. One of the representatives at the branch told me ,”Oh we don’t look at that.” Imagine my dismay of being proud of maintaining an excellent payment history and a member for 5 years only to be told that it doesn’t matter. Recently I have had a major unexpected expense come up, so today I contacted NOVA to ask if I can temporarily “skip” my car payments for about two months (like the service they offer every November to skip car payments for a month). I was told that since I used the skip payment option in November of last year (2018) that I am not allowed to use this option again even though this is a new year . I cannot wait to finish my car payments this year. This credit union does not care about its members tenure or positive payment histories. Everything is rejection with this bank and they do nothing to try to make nor keep its members happy. If you are considering this financial institution please keep looking as there are many better options out here. My new car loan, mortgage and anything else in the future will go through my other credit union.

HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! I opened my account and while there my credit report had already been pulled. Immediately, I was offered to refinance a vehicle I already own. I then inquired about purchasing a second vehicle. Everything was approved via email and I was told to deposit the down payment funds into my account. I deposited a cashier's check into my account and immediately after leaving the bank I received a phone call stating they were not going to finance the loan. The next day, I called and talked with a manager, Wanda, who stated I was never approved for the loan, I told her that I have an email stating that I was and the email contained my monthly payments and terms of the loan. After realizing how unprofessional the manager and other employees were, I told her I am closing my account. She then told me the money that I deposited for a down payment had to be held for 7 business days. I told her absolutely not, because that money was for the loan that never happened and they need to refund it immediately. After a brief dispute over the phone, I called the bank the cashier's check was drawn on and they stated the funds had already cleared and NOVA had the funds available. When I arrived at NOVA, they refused to give me cash from the account and was instructed to give me a check only. I told them I did not want a check. After threatening to go to the bank commissioner, they refunded my money in cash. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE if you have expectations of professionalism.

The representative who assisted me was very helpful and persistent in making sure I received all the information I needed to complete my account process. She took the time to explain to me what to expect & what was needed and that gave me peace of mind. Thank you for a great experience.

DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT HERE! They will rob your account for every little thing you do! They took $10 because my statement was returned in the mail! I wired money to my account paid $10 to do it, and then nova took an extra $10 for receiving it! My car loan is another story! I paid a 5yr car loan off in a year and a half and the price went up for me to pay it off! I guess it's those hidden fees! They don't have free checking, it's $4.95 a month! Best bet is do not bank with these people! The kannapolis location has employees who act like they are bothered when you ask simple questions! There is no personality in there at all! Just straight depressed faces!
