My husband and I made an appointment to get a pre-approval for a mortgage. It took months to get an appointment, our emails and phone calls were not returned. That should of been our first clue. After we final got in to see Jeff, he has not returned a phone call or email. After several attempts and our credit was pinged, we are going with another lender. It's been 33 days since our approval, no approval letter was given for real estate company, no communication at all after multiple attempts. Jeff Arnold came highly recommended and I can tell you, do not call these people because you will get no where with them. Horrible customer service.
We’re sorry to hear this, and thank you for the feedback. We apologize that the request took longer than anticipated due to COVID-related issues preventing the requested in-person application process. Our team is reviewing the situation and will respond accordingly to ensure our clients receive the most streamlined process available.

If I could give them zero I would. I was three days away from having my home sold (the loan they held) and they sold my loan to a different company. I did not receive notification of the sale of my loan due to the letter not being forwarded. I found out of the sale due to the legal team that was working on the sale of the house. I called the office and everyone I spoke to was apologetic, but no one could help me figure out how my loan was put up for sale with it being less than 72 hours from being paid in full. I called the place they sold the loan to and they had not record of the loan. Overall would not rate this bank high. I was told several times that this is what banks do; they sale loans in bulk to other banks or financial institutes, but I Northpointe Bank has known since March about the sale of my house and paperwork was submitted for payout at the end of March when it went under contract. This is also a great example of how, when something bad happens, we forget or marginalize the "good" things. But remember that these companies are offering us a service which we are paying for so "good" behavior is something that we should expect normally and should meet the minimum expectation. When we see that poor performance from companies it is 100% acceptable to point out the failures of that system. In this case there are no "safety" features in place which prevents the sale of loans that are pending closure. In my case, a Moorgate release of information was requested for the payout, I spoke with several employees on the phone notifying them of the sale, as well as was working with the mortgage officers on the sale of the house and the closure of the loan. In this case even if notes were made in my account that the house attached to the loan was being sold and the loan was to be paid in full on a certain date; that alone would not stop the sale of my loan to another company. My question to Northpointe was how could that not stop that process? Why actively sale loans which are set to be closed with no ability to stop the process? Is there no safe guard in their system that would even prevent such a sale from occurring? Or, as all three individuals i spoke with on the matter today told me, if they want to sale the loan they will sale it and there is nothing you can do as a customer to stop or prevent the sale. Overall I had a few acceptable business interactions with acceptable most days, but it comes down to the closure for me and it was just not a good experience especially now knowing how they look at customers as expendable assets.

Ryan Bird was awesome. Great experience from start to finish. We closed on a cash out refinance so fast. Great rate. We will be back in the future when we move again and need a new mortgage.

I was looking to purchase my first home with a completely different lender. This loan officer was unpleasant, condescending, and overall gave me a feeling of uneasiness. This person really could care less of what I wanted. I was referred by a friend to Northpointe and was introduced to Jess Rhen. Speaking with Jess one time gave me confidence and reassurances that the home buying process was supposed to be a good experience. She made my dream a reality for me and my family.

If you are in the market to purchase a house, please talk them, especially Carl Lemaster. Didn't think the home buying process was going to be so easy until we talked to Carl. Carl was always available and willing to answer our questions throughout the entire process. We closed on our forever home yesterday.

Robyn was fantastic to work with; incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and customer focused. Couldn't have been a smoother process. Highly recommend their services.

Don't work with them, they will sell your loan to another company. Get a letter in the mail and all of a sudden you'll need to change everything. A huge hassle to change documents, change payment information, get refunds for payments they won't process.
