I had a car loan there that I paid off through automatic withdrawals from my other bank. Never had a problem until the last payment when they got a non-sufficient funds code. I called them having $19 and something cents left on the loan asking why I was getting a delinquent notice. They said they ran the automatic payment that month and got back NSF. I called my other bank and they said they did not get a request and I clearly had the funds. I got charged $25 by NH Federal Credit Union for this. When I disputed it and showed them the proof of my records from my other bank they were like "you need to talk to Fidelity about this". I told them I already did and they said I'd have to get reimbursed by Fidelity for the $25. I don't have time to be the ping pong ball and rather than making my life easier after a long successful 4 year relationship of successful payments, they pulled this poor policy. I understand the importance and respect penalty fees for legitimate cases but I showed them this was an error not due to me but I still had to pay. I closed my account with them and don't plan on returning because regardless of who made the mistake, them or the other bank, I can't keep paying for it. So congratulations NHFCU, rather than just reimbursing me the $25 after I showed you proof and you acknowledged, you decided the $25 was worth more than me as a customer. It would have been no skin off your backs or the other banks.

I am a teenager and I had my first bank account ever at this credit union because they offered me a 6 month coupon for a free checking account and my mom was cool with it so we took the offer. Even though I was a little displeased by their archaic approach to banking and not being very technological like other banks, I let that slide because I already had a savings account with them before I was even born and I saw no problem with them. But anyways, I went into the bank one day and one of the employees was not very patient with me and wasn't the nicest all over me doing online withdrawals and not understanding them and how they work. And one day my mom went in and one of the other employees admitted to her that one of her co-workers wasn't very nice to her son the other day he came. So in this long review, I do not recommend this bank if you don't want to bank like it's still the 2000s and especially don't recommend it because they charge you a monthly $6.00 fee when most banks don't.

I love working with the people at NHFCU- always responsive to my needs and concerns. I've never waited more then 5 minutes at the Concord location and am always greeted and wished a good day. Check out Center for Finance and Education classes for FREE! They do a great job with all their classes. Shout out to Meghan and Debbie for the great work they do with making sure they can help people and meet people where they are at physically, emotionally, and financially!

The online automated system needs some work. Called the bank a few times about getting a new debit card and they make you leave a message and they will call you back (which they never do) the quickest way and only way I have found to talk to someone and get something done was to transfer to the loan department.

Have been a customer for over 30 years to NHFCU and am about to close my account due to their substandard online system. I recently purchased a vehicle and had to finance through Toyota because they would not finance due to my credit score being 4 points below 700. Went to Granite State CU and had no problem with a lower interest rate than NHFCU. Don't know what year they are living in, but it sure is not 2020!

I would give them no stars if I could. They decided on May 18th to change their online banking system. It's approaching a month and our accounts still aren't corrected. They keep telling me "Oh our IT department will have it fixed by end of business tomorrow." It's been a month and it's still not fixed. Stay away from this institution if you can.Their tellers are not on the ball either. I don't know how many times they've put a deposit in savings when it was meant for checking (here's a clue-the deposit slips are color coordinated for which account). One time they deposited our money into someone else's account!!!! Stay away from this bank. They are awful.

PLEASE READ and DO NOT USE NHFCU. I’m not one to write poor reviews but DO NOT trust NHFCU with your money, Including savings. I had a good experience for roughly three years at this location, although it was difficult to contact representatives and the bank location was inconvenient for me I gave them a try. I opened a savings account in hopes to keep my funds separate from my spendings and to be able to save as much as possible. I had money deposited into this account biweekly from my employer. I received monthly statements but never checked them, again- I wanted my balance to remain unknown so I didn’t feel tempted to spend emergency money. Low and behold an emergency came up where I needed to withdraw the money accumulated. About a month later I received a call from NHFCU informing me they made and error, and another member brought it to their attention- HER money was getting deposited into MY account monthly and without telling me they withdrew the remaining money in my account. I now am negative $3,000 in my account because of negligence with the bank. They should have checked not only both members account numbers but also our security Information to be sure the money was going into the CORRECT account. Three years is a long time for something to go unnoticed. I am not one to blame others for mistakes, especially since I didn’t check my statements regularly. But also the other member didn’t either (until 3 years later) and the bank had delt with my account many times and it still was unnoticed. When contacting them and trying to resolve the issue, they were EXTREMELY accusatory to me since It was “my fault” I wasn’t checking my statements. They wouldn’t return my calls, or reason with me. Finally after getting in touch, the women I spoke with (Tina) was extremely rude and disrespectful. She wanted me to pay the full amount back, even though she admitted it wasn’t my error and told me she could help me by giving me a low interest loan to pay it back. Why should I be responsible for paying the money back with interest so the bank benefits from their own error? I said no, and that I would be talking to an attorney and remained calm the whole conversation. When she started being unprofessional and unpleasant, and using works like “WHATEVS” I was shocked and asked to have someone who wasn’t going to be unprofessional to return my call. Still, weeks later after filing a complaint through the bank of commissioners, I still haven’t received a call from the President of the Bank. Please do not trust this bank because this was not something I planned on dealing with and it’s been nothing but a nightmare. Look somewhere else where your money is safe!

The employees are nice, but their administrative decisions about technology and online banking are stuck in 1992. They do not care about inconveniencing their customers by changing passwords and login IDs without warning that require a phone call to reset.

I had an account at NHFCU for several years. At the start, I was fairly pleased with the service I received. However, after a short period of time, I began to see my money drain away. I had a $6 monthly fee just for having an account with the bank. How ridiculous. I was told that I am an "owner" but I was never able to vote on decisions at the bank. The bank is also very archaic with their technology. Need to move? Come to the branch and fill out a form. Need to travel temporarily? Oh, you must come in and fill out a form. This bank was nothing but paperwork. I was unable to make easy requests online. I have since switched to DCU, where there's no fees! They even let me deposit checks from my phone and have amazing customer services. NHFCU needs to catch up to the digital age and look at trends of the banking industry. I am glad I closed my NHFCU account. You should look at other options before choosing this credit union.
