Not the greatest credit union. When I was unemployed, refused to work with me with my loans. When I finally got a part time job, still would not work with me because I evidently didn't make enough for their program.

I used to boast to my friends about navy federal accounts and tell them if they don’t have them and have a family member in the service...they should. Recently the interactions I’ve had in different channels has not been good. The drive thru at this location takes soooo long. I had an hour lunch break turn into 5mins because of the tellers incapability to have a sense of urgency. I personally work for another credit union so I know policies and fed regulations. Yesterday I deposited a check of $4500. I’ve been with navy federal for 4 years, I had enough in my account to cover the check, I have an active credit card as well. They didn’t want to release any more than $225, they explained my check will be placed on a 5 business day hold. Mind you, regulation CC requires any deposits in a checking account you get $225 that day and up to $5225 the second business day. When I asked why they were holding it for so long they said they don’t know where the check is coming from and can’t confirm it. The following day I open my app and see my account negative??!!! They placed a hold on my account for the amount of the check TWICE holding all my funds in my account from my paycheck because of a check I deposited. I’m not happy with navy federal’s service and customer care lately. Who knows, at least my credit union I work for cares about their members.

the best bank I’ve ever had. My Mom had to refer me. They’ve helped me retain an excellent credit score and they represent me in taken care of fraudulent activities and reimburse me for them.

I wish my mortgage wasn’t serviced here. I’m here for the second time this week and their systems are down. Last month I was here for over seven hours in one day trying to get my hurricane damage check from the insurance company endorsed. How can they conduct business this way? Update: I decided to upgrade my review to three stars because after a lot of opposition I was helped by Shirley and she made sure my loan was service properly

Navy Federal in GENERAL is by far the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. They can charge me REPEATEDLY for fees that I’m NOT suppose to be getting and continuously tell me essentially it’s my problem and that I need to solve it.. I had a company that wasn’t even suppose to be attempting any charges do so 3 times and I get hit with the return fee three separate times. And on a separate occasion have the same thing done again and the poor excuse of a notification does not tell you whom is even attempting the charge but they’ll tell you quick that you have to get with whomever is making said attempt. I’m tired of them essentially taking my money (free money for them). My family already left and after tonight I’m definitely taking my banking needs closer to home it was only convenient because I had a second job and wanted the money separate but now I could careless I would rather go back to Wells Fargo then continuously have to deal with their terrible over the phone customer service.

I have been using the Navy Federal Credit Union since 2009 and have never had them charge me a penny. Most of my Banking services are done online with a few trips to one of many branches. Since the new Security Protocells have been introduced there are some access issues but there are ways around that.

Scammers might be working here. 1/5 Made a deposit this very night at the drive thru ATM, and before it counted my money, it decided to freeze. Red flag there. Called customer service, they were acting like i was too blame for the ATM acting up. I was told to just leave without my card or the money i attempted to deposit. 5/5 Was able to get my card back the very next day, no money lost. Customer service was sleeping during my issue, but all is good now.
