We have used My Credit Union (previously known as Richfield Bloomington Credit Union) for the past 25+ years. The service has always been stellar. Great customer service, great product offerings, and just overall GREAT. This last year has been a nightmare. First we opened a new savings account. This resulted in my phone numbers being switched around so verification texts were misdirected and our mailing address was incorrect. I updated all of these things myself online, but it was a hassle. Then I discovered that one of my bill pay accounts (that we have had set up for over 3 years) was changed from a check to an electronic payment. This would have been ok if it had worked. The payments showed as “succeeded” when I looked online. The payments went “somewhere”, no one seems to know where. It wasn’t until I called my creditor to find out why they were sending bills for things I had already paid that I found out what was going on. I was never informed that the transactions were changed, so I had no reason to check to see if they worked. Now I have a bill that has been turned over to a collection agency. I am mortified. I was told to setup a new account to pay this creditor. I did that, submitted the payment again and supposedly it went as a check (I will follow up to be sure they actually receive it) but the payee record has once again been changed from check to automatic! So I can’t use this account in the future or the money will go into limbo again. When I have called the help center I have been told I would get call backs. Has never happened. The most recent was today…I was to get a call from the third party outsourced company that is responsible for these bill pay changes. Never happened. We are considering moving our accounts. It’s a lot of work, but I feel like I can’t trust the transactions I am routing through their bank. Very sad to see a demise like this when they have remodeled or rebuilt all of their branches within the last couple of years, and changed their name with a lot of fanfare. Maybe they should have concentrated on customer service instead.

Adventure Club is a great feature of MYCU. It’s like meeting friends for coffee….a great way to meet my older neighbors. Just fun.

The only reason I used any stars was because of the helpful friendly staff at RBCU. I have been banking here for almost 20 years. My chief complaint starts with policy changes and their sudden change to points instead of cash back on the credit card. I just closed my accounts due to the $400 worth of cash back I lost in 2018. Instead, I got an older model pair of headphones worth $80. It was that or a new knife set. If you really like being forced to shop out of a catalog to use your rewards points this is the place to bank! I had my card cloned and They called my phone at midnight and didn't leave a message. It all worked out in the end, but it would have been nice to stop the $4000 dollar charge at Dollar General in Kansas.

Since the switch to "My Credit Union" I've never received such awful service from a bank. We will be moving our accounts, very archaic and customer support is not helpful. We've have numerous errors that we have had to bring to the bank's attention pertaining to balance errors on our accounts and response time is slow and less than helpful. We've been customers for years, but the level of service has depleted so much that its just not worth it.

It has been a nightmare trying to work with this credit union to wire my funds to another city after I moved. It has taken me at least four phone calls over a month to try to get them to wire my money to a new banking institution. The first time I called, I was told they couldn't do that with an outside provider. After contacting them this week on Tuesday again, I thought they had completed the wire but after checking with them today, they never sent it to my new credit union. I was told that they had been trying to reach me and had left voice mails. I have no vms on my phone from My Credit Union. I would not recommend My Credit Union, their customer service has really gone down hill in the last few years.

I referred almost my entire extended family to RBCU (now "My Credit Union" which I never knew about as a member until I drove past the local branch. A letter in the mail about the name change would have been nice...) My mom and dad, grandparents, aunt and uncle... And they have in turn refused to budge on some of the simplest things. Even when it's on record or in writing stating that something wasn't going to be done to my account so there is no need to worry, they refused to stand behind it. When I started at RBCU, I had an ok credit score of 720, through some really bad policies and practices, my accounts ended up in the collections department reporting over 120 days past due despite being told that they would not report it to the credit bureaus. After my time with them, my credit score was down to 540. I couldn't even get a transfer to another bank. I'm proud to say after 2 years with Wings my credit is finally back on the rise and I have NEVER missed a payment with them. Do yourself a favor and find a different credit union. These guys don't offer ANYTHING that another CU doesn't already offer.

I have been a member for 10+ years. I have checking, savings, credit card, and have had an auto loan with them. I love the small town feel, but ultimately they were not helpful in times we needed them most, which directed our business to other credit unions. The two biggest complaints we have had are 1) we changed our address with them multiple times as well as selected online statement delivery, only to have them continue to charge us a non-deliverable statement fee when we had called at least twice to correct the issue We didn't realize it until they had taken a sizable amount and at that point it was too late for anyoneto help us get our money back. 2) They also refused to cash a pandemic stimulus check - this just flat out surprised us and speaks a lot about the credit union. Lastly they closed some of our inactive accounts without even a letter, and took the $25 balance in the account as well. Super disappointed.

Bad loan experience on refi, kept delaying closing, almost cost me to lose my home, unreliable and irresponsible atmosphere there

I came to RBCU because it's in the community. The services (training in the services they provide) need improvements. I tried to open a business checking account and I kept getting different answers based on who I talk to (on the phone and in person). I finally opened a business checking account with an understanding that I satisfy all the requirements to have the monthly fees waved. But I got charged monthly fees anyway. I called and they said, I don't meet all the requirements. Not very happy about this. As a result, I closed the account. I believe staff need additional training in the type of services they provide. They seem to confuse about what paper work needed for certain services.
