I do not recommend anyone to bank with Michigan Legacy Credit Union as a whole.. this company is now down hill. All of the sudden no one knows what their doing. Fees just get pulled out of your account for no reason, managers never call back to reconcile, and employees tell u anything to get u off the line including informing u that they will work on an issue for u and will call u back which they never do. It’s sad because I’ve been with this company for over 20 years, yes they changed their name a few times but they still use to be a good credit union, but now their all wrong and it sad that I had to close all my accounts with them. But if u want a good credit Union to be apart of, DO NOT BANK WITH THEM!

Used the video chat service today to set up a new joint account with my partner, and it was so fast and easy! Charlie at the Warren branch was kind, knowledgeable, and made it a quick and easy experience! Have banked with them for years and was really happy with this new service.
Lia, we are so glad you love it banking designed for your convenience...and Charlie is awesome. Thank you

Building is 100% done with construction but in-person is still not allowed. 95% of your competitors have opened their doors, 6 months ago. Two stars because the ATM gives out more than just $20s. Which is nice.

i don't understand what has happened to this place. What used to be a wonderful family credit union attached to our church is now a bureaucratic disaster. I can't process transactions for more than $500 without calling and asking for permission. And last night they decided to just disable my debit card. I try to call and get someone on the phone and it's literally a joke. I'm all done with this place. If I wanted a corporate bank I would just sign up with chase.
Jackie, thank you for letting us know the issues you are having. The reason for limits on transfers is due to fraud; however, please feel free to call and ask for Gary Leach EVP/COO for other options. Regarding the debit card we sent seven emails, posted information on website from August - November and posted the information on social media. If you have suggestions for other ways to better communicate please let us know your ideas, we are always open for better member experience thoughts.

I am a fairly new credit union customer and ran into a few problems with my account over the past couple of months. Out of all the member service reps I have tried to contact and/or talked to, Jillian is by far the best; these five stars are for her! She is friendly, polite and very helpful and has addressed all of my issues and answered all of my questions so far without hesitation. I've also noticed that Jillian is the only one out of the few others I have talked to that introduces herself by saying her name; much appreciated. She is an asset to your company and a stellar member services representative. Thank you Jillian!
Kathleen, Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment I will let Jillian’s Manager know what an outstanding job she is doing. Jillian is a true asset to the credit union. Thank you for your ownership and letting us know.

One of the worst credit unions in the state of Michigan! I will never refer anyone to this Credit Union ever! For my first experience with this particular establishment it was horrible! The hours are horrible! I tried to pay my loan payment with my debt card from a different financial institution but they would only take a credit card. I went into the location in Warren to open my online account and even though I got there b4 they closed after I opened the online account and found out that I needed to open a checking account so I could pay the loan online, I was not assisted with trying to open an account online because it was now 5:02 and they were closing! I was already sitting with the banker!!! She just looked at me like, SO SORRY CHARLIE 😤😤😤😤The hours are worse than bank hours at least banks and some credit unions are open late at least one day during the week! Lastly I called Member Services to try to pay the loan online and guess what? Because I was paying the loan from a different account, they had to call the MLCU branch to get authorization to take the payment and since ALL the branches are now closed I had to wait until MONDAY! So luckily I get the opportunity to drive 20 miles to go to the Warren branch AGAIN and pay my loan through the drive thru So needless to say, moving forward I will have my current banking institution send payment to MLCU so I won't have to deal with this credit union again. I will be glad when my loan is paid off so I won't have to deal with them EVER! MICHIGAN LEGACY CREDIT UNION LEAVES A LEGACY OF FRUSTRATION!!

This Credit Union is alright. I signed up for an account and I instantly opt-out of the Over Draft protection... Guess what?! I didn't found out it doesn't kick in until 30 to 90 days. So, I've acquired 2 fees... Michigan First is where I'm going back to as I can.

I don’t know if it’s a staffing issue or what but the lobby is still closed and the drive thru wait is an average of 30 minutes. I really need to close my accounts and move on.
Lauri, yes it is a staffing issue, we are trying to hire so if you know of anyone looking for work that is friendly and nice we will train them. Our starting pay is $16 per hour with full benefits.

I enjoyed banking with them prior to covid 19. I think they must have lost all there staff who actually knew what to do and now no one there has a clue how to do there job
Siarra, thank you for your comments. Many of our staff have been promoted and taken new positions and we are looking to hire. If I can assist you with anything please call the credit union and ask for Chrissy. Yes, we are hiring and continually train our staff for further education and development.

I've been with this Credit Union since they ate up our church credit union. The fees are outrageous. I would seriously consider a bank over this credit union. Do yourself a favor and don't give them your money.
