In early August, 2015, my friend brought herself to the ER at this hospital in severe pain and she was not only accused of being a drug seeker, but she was treated incredibly unkindly. She left in tears. This woman has been suffering from an undiagnosed illness for 2.5 years which has taken her across the country seeking help from various hospitals. Later this same week the University of Minnesota Hospital finally gave her a diagnosis; chronic pancreatitis. To the attending and team on duty that night, look it up. Next time maybe you won't make assumptions based on your cynicism and perhaps you will treat the next "drug seeker" with a minimum of dignity and kindness. "Do no harm", remember?

My sister has been here for 7 days and the care has been awesome. They listen to us and her and adjust care as needed. These guys have a hard job and they do it well!

    Response from the owner

We're glad to hear this! On behalf of our hardworking doctors and care providers, thanks for sharing such kind words.

Experience here is fantastic. You get a combination of professionalism, caring and knowledgeable staff who goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. It's organized very well, too. The whole U medical center is located near each other no matter which building you need to go to.

How is it that I can plan a multi-leg international trip, setup hotels, rental cars, and customs/immigration in less time than it takes to schedule an appointment to have 2 stitches removed from my thumb?

Every time my wait has been at least 1/2 over. I drive from Duluth so timing is very important to this northerner. U make an appointment 4 months out and a few days before they change the time. Not happy. But they don’t care we are at their mercy

We've been waiting for hours in the emergency room with a cut 2 inch cut in the head. When we first got here we sat down in the lobby and got blood over a pillow and who knows what else. We asked for a sandwich twice because it's midnight now and still haven't eaten dinner.

    Response from the owner

Doctor O'Neal is the worst.. she doesn't listen to the patient and she didn't treat my problems, I was in pain for nearly 3 hours before she offered me something that I couldn't take. I asked for something different and she flat out told me no. If you ever need to go to this er I recommend you don't get Dr O'Neal

No sleep. They put patients with significant needs with patients who don’t. Moved rooms in middle of night multiple times as result of roommates having emergency situations. I came here as part of centralizing care within a system. Won’t come here again or follow up in their clinics. BAD DELIVERY MODEL. MANAGEMENT IS ASLEEP AT SWITCH FOR NOT RECOGNIZING.

My father passed away there friday night. We were told our funeral home would be notified. They were not. My father was at the eyebank wtg for eye donation, which we never gave permission. Funeral home has finally found him and will be bringing him home. So 😡!!!

I can’t really comment on the care here as I haven’t been admitted but the parking is ridiculously expensive. The ramp is 2 blocks away and you’re not getting your car for less than $8. Since you don’t go to a hospital because you want to, this is pretty unfair. Taking the train or Lyft or Uber if you live close is probably cheaper.
