I don't receive bills via mail until they are past due. They will not send bills via email (only notices that a payment was made), and their website will not allow me to set up automatic payment. It simply says "You cannot set up a [sic] automatic payment", with no explanation. So, I have to remember on my own without prompting of any kind from them that I need to login to their website to manually make a payment on my mortgage. That's unacceptable in this day and age. If they get their tech figured out and fix these issues, I'll update my rating. Update: they now have their auto payment working, so I have updated it to 3 stars from 1 star.

To be honest, we weren't sure about LoanDepot at first and were not able to find many positive reviews from past customers. However, our Lending Officer, Rob, proved us wrong and it was smooth sailing with him and our Account Manager, Matt, since day one. We recently closed on our refinancing and were very impressed by the great experience! While the big banks asked for every single deposit detail and proofs and letters of explanation for the smallest things and updated statements through multiple document requests, we were able to upload all of our documents online through the LoanDepot portal and only a couple of additional items were requested. Our last refinance with the big bank took over 3 months, and I spent months after closing on the phone with them to correct errors that they've made. It was impossible to find anyone to help, finally I gave up and filed a complaint on BBB and executive customer service got involved. The whole nightmare really turned us off from financing with big banks. With LoanDepot, our account manager was always easy to reach via phone and email and also very quick to respond to our concerns. Even when we wanted to change our loan amount to decrease cash at closing, it was simple and quick and did not need to go through a big lengthy approval process. He was professional and friendly and took his time whenever I spoke to him on the phone; he was also great at communicating with us the status of the loan, keeping us updated with the progress. Matt is definitely one of the best account managers we ever worked with and I highly recommend LoanDepot to others for their financing needs.

Would've have never used them in the first place but LGI had a builder promotion only if financed through Loan Depot. Horrible rates, poor communication, lack of oversight, delays without notice... it was a nightmare. My contact was Cristy Carter and it was clear that she wasn't working while we are working from home. She does not answer phone calls, many emails are ignored, doesn't feel a thing about delayed closing, doesn't care to communicate. Unbelievable customer service. I will never use or recommend Loan Depot to anyone.

Awful company. Endless calls trying to solve their mistakes. Inept. Bozos. Horrible lender. If they don’t sell my loan I may sell my house just to get rid of them in my life. Shocked they stay in business.

So, sketchy that a stranger comes to our home,(She made a rude comment about being so far away that we never get visitors. I suppose she's never been to a gated PRIVATE area)takes our personal onfo., supposedly closes our loan at 930PM...proceeds to lose a document, only to find out WEEKS LATER that we didn't close!! Now we are LATE on our original loan!! They assured us they won't recharge us to re-file. I sure as heck (another word more appropriate) hope not!!I see they have many Negative reviews. I won't bother with the BBB. I will file a complaint with the Federal Reserve

This is a terrible company that will keep you in the dark and keep pushing you off by telling you lies or mistruths. It's in underwriting and then the loan underwriter hasn't even reviewed anything. 3 months of headaches and I possibly missed out on a smooth refinance with a similar rate. Its very angering to deal with these people.

LoanDepot is extremely hard to get a hold of. I am trying to pay property taxes for a January date and twice I have been on hold for 40 minutes (after they could not find my loan) only to have a machine ask me to leave a number. This is AFTER they messed up closing my loan and tried to get me to refinance because they could not resell it. I loved the people who sold me the loan but I really question this company. Poor experience. Loan rep that was to go over options mocked what I know in my industry. This place will not discuss their loan programs or what they offer without pulling your credit report. Check out the many others out there as they have better reputations and respect their potential customers.

I dealt with the CA office. Rude and Unprofessional. I contacted them for rates on a refi. They called back and asked a lot of personal information before giving me rates. They asked some questions twice. I said that I'd call them back and think about it. I called back and gave the extra info. They seem to want me to refi right on the spot and were pushy about it, but I was just shopping for rates. They also said some things that my local credit union or bank were old and out of date and could not possibly compete with them, since they are a new company doing only mortgages. That phone call ended fine and I did not do a refi with them. Then a couple days later another call came from a customer relationship recovery specialist (or something like that), he said he had new information that could give me a lower rate or lower payment. He started asking many of the same questions that I already answered in the first two calls (like why I was seeking to refi, when would I refi). I asked if they saved any of my first answers and the fellow got a little upset. He skipped the questions and gave me a new rate. It still did not beat my local bank (it was the same as my local credit union). I told him that he still wasn't in the running. He asked for the rate that was better than his. I said that was part of his business to know his competition. He said no it wasn't. I wasn't going to argue, I was just trying to be helpful. If I mow lawns, I should know what my competition charges, anyway. Then he said there were other reasons to sign up with them, like the accident thing. I said I was focused on rate and total closing costs. He got upset and asked who possibly could beat them. I told him that I already gave that information once in the earlier calls and I wasn't going to give it again. He hung up on me.

Long process, better off getting someone local you have a personal relationship with, constant telling us it is in underwriting but it is really not. After asking for more and more documents, we get them all then they say, "Its in under writing". Ask for more documents, then they we will now send it to under writing. Stay away
