I've been a Kemba member for 16 years (give or take) and have had a relatively positive experience overall. The building is clean and inviting. I have a credit card and a car loan through kemba along with my savings and checking account. Most of the stuff Kemba does is modern and good. It supports mobile payments like apple and Samsung pay. The mobile app uses biometrics like it should. Every time I go in there, it's for simple stuff but it's a pleasant experience. However, there are a few wrinkles I'd like to see fixed. Chase and other banks use a quick pay system to transfer funds between two member accounts. If Kemba had one, I could close my chase account as my girlfriend and I frequently use that feature to send money to one another. The video tellers are fine if you know what to ask for and how to ask for it. I wish the ATMs allowed deposits. Additionally, some CSR calls get routed to a call center that has vastly less power than someone from the bank itself. That one is a minor annoyance, all I needed was a bank statement for my savings account. In any case, I'm just a normal member and I don't use kemba for any complicated stuff like mortgage or business so I cannot comment on that. However, as a bank, it's pretty good.

Hard to imagine a bank with worse customer service. Inside tellers were closed midday for no apparent reason. Drive up tellers helped 1 person in 15 minutes. Got the amount of my transaction wrong 4 different times! Wow. Don't use this bank

BEWARE of drive thru in Westerville, OH. Made a payment 10/28/21 through the new “high tech” drive thru teller. Now looking 6 days later and no payment ever posted to my acct. I would say this is not going to please customers …nor gain any new. Not impressed. Hopefully the video is recorded.

Very bad bank. Small banks like this no resources no good employees. They never call you back!!! Even their website is garbage. I don't recommend this bank even to my enemies if I have them.

I was given the kindest service during this time of life. I am in some intense chemo Dr even asked me not to be around people. I needed paperwork done. I called in and Michele took extra time to wipe down desk, had glove's and even a box of new pen's for us to use. She worked fast and professional. When I get back to work I will be talking about the first class service.

The lady I dealt with seems to be a bit prejudice maybe even racist. I was well educated in the service they provide and she seemed to be intimidated by my knowledge, due to the research I had done. She straight up turned me down, without doing additional research. I later called the TOLL FREE number and they told me I was qualified, that all I needed to do was go into a branch! Over all the bank is pretty cool, everyone else was very friendly except for this one employee. She seemed to be in a hurry to be off. Wouldn’t even try to print my wife a card, until I asked. She seemed frustrated that someone came to open a bank account 1 hour before close. My wife was able to get her account but I wasn’t. If some one cannot do his/ her job efficiently from start to finish, you should find a new profession! sorry, honest opinion! She gave off a bad vibe

We had been shopping around for banks and decided to open a business account with Kemba at their Westerville location due to good rates and good reviews. We were super excited to start our business account due to starting our new business venture, but we had an awful experience on 2/16/2019. When we arrived at the bank we had to wait a little to speak with the receptionist. When we did we were asked what we were there for, we told the lady we were there to open a business account. She then proceeded to ask if we had our tax Id information, had ID and proof of citizenship. I then proceeded to ask why she needed proof of citizenship if someone can open a business account being a resident of USA. We felt she racially profiled us as my husband is African American and I am a US citizen but born in Guatemala, I obviously look Hispanic and feel if we were Caucasian we would have never been asked to show proof of citizenship or even asked that question. Is that question even legal and ethical? We work in property management and we follow, believe and stand by fair housing laws and we would never ask someone trying to rent a home that question. Are banks held to similar laws? Once we sat down with the banker it felt like she was giving us the run around to start the business account due to not having the mailed in tax id documentation by mail, but we did have an email confirmation from the IRS with the tax id information which clearly stated in the email issued by the IRS that we could open an account with the email. Is the IRS incorrect? After going back and forth with her we communicated our discomfort with the push back from her on not accepting the IRS issued email and how we felt that they just made rules up just like the citizenship requirements as the receptionist stated. She then proceeded to act concerned asked to step out to get approval from someone and walk out the office and immediately came back into the office and proceeded to start and complete the business account. It has now been 4 days since this incident and we still feel upset. I am simply writing this review so no one of a different background has to experience what we did on Saturday. I hope that Kemba takes this complaint seriously and retrains their employees because no one should ever have to feel or go through what we did that day. I know we can’t be the only customers who have had a similar experience. I was just going to let it go but decided to speak up for all who feel fear to speak up. This was supposed to be an exciting, happy time for us. Starting our new business account and instead we will forever remember it as the time we felt we were discriminated against at Kemba. As your employees are a representation of your company.

Been a member for a long time and always have received outstanding service from the organization. My entire family uses Kemba for most of our financial services. The organization continues to evolve as technology and customer preferences change. Madeline recently helped with two items for our family and followed them through from beginning to end very professionally. Online banking and the mobile app work great. Credit Unions are operated on the principle of people helping people.

My tip...leave your bank. Kemba CU is better on every front: rates, responsiveness, financial offerings, etc. And did you know you can use their debit card at pretty much any Credit Union's ATM in the country? For no fee?!? Yes, that's true.

So inconvenient. Their teller system here is insane and feels like I’m at a prison talking to an inmate behind a screen and with a gross phone. Takes 15 minutes to make a deposit because you have to send items up and down the tube 4 times. Was incredibly inconvenient. Will never come back here and am glad I don’t do my primary banking here.
