Tellers are not the most courteous or knowledgeable. I have asked specific questions about account creation and/or closing BEFORE wasting time going into a branch because it's usually always a waste of time--and still received incorrect info. They have messed up taking money from the wrong accounts (think: personal vs business) several times, even though I specifically remind them which account to access...and even present the Visa to that particular account. Still, somehow money is moved from the account that I did NOT specify, then I'm told I have to wait x amount of business days before it's returned to the correct account. They were incredibly rude when I acted as executor of an estate, and even the estate lawyer was appalled at their inability to relay information in a timely and truthful fashion. I've never heard of having to pay for a printed account statement, but they tried it. TODAY was the last straw when a teller claimed there is no way to complete an external transfer of funds...if I didn't create an ACH withdrawal IN the external account. So you want me to believe IH, with all its members from across the Quad Cities and beyond, can ONLY move funds between another bank IF the request originates from the other bank or credit union? Give me a break! That's not even logical. Nor is it true, and I attempted to ask if she was certain and I get the ole: "it's been like that as long as I've been here"--without saying whether that's been a week, a year, or 10 years. And instances like these are why I moved my deposits and created accounts elsewhere. I have been a member for over a decade and opened several different account types, and this is not how you reward loyalty. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend IH to anyone, at all, ever. TL;DR: Save yourself a headache and find another credit union. These people are not competent. The interest rates may seem decent, but in the end--the frustration over their lack of knowledge and deplorable customer service are not worth the "benefits".

Horrible customer service and long wait times. Used to be a decent bank. Definitely don't use them for business purposes they will keep on you and make you do flips for them.

You’re better off keeping your money in your sock drawer! In the last 24 hours I have spoke with 6 different people regarding a routine matter. Not one of them said the same thing or knew the process. I don’t typically write reviews- but this specific incident unraveled 6 months of my efforts and has me back at square one. I am a long time customer and today was my last day with them.

Waiting in. Line over 15 minutes get up to machine it says wait for teller then says oh sorry we are closed. Poor customer service. I used the bill pay and they paid it late everytime said it was sent on 1st of december but post mark was dec 8th. Never use this service. I talked to someone who was supposed to look into it I have heard nothing cost 50 in late fee for rent no excuse for this

AWFUL! I would recommend any other bank over IH. They have messed up at least 4 of my credit card payments coming out of my account. I have one account and they claim they don't know which account I try to make my payments out of. This results in my payments being reversed and late fees charged to my credit cards. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. Every time I have called the person I speak with is short and down right rude. They have a stupid 5 dollar rule you have to keep in your account and once the bank closes it is next to impossible to get ahold of a customer service representative if there are issues. Go anywhere else but here. If I could give zero stars I would.

I have had a savings account here for over two years and have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. Every time I go to the branch the staff is NOT friendly or helpful, accept for Nicole she is awesome. I tried to open a checking account and was told my credit was not good enough so I had to wait six months. Sixth months was up in October so I go back in to again try to open a checking account and was told since I have had fees come in my account I am not allowed to open an account yet again. Mind you I have had my account for over two years and have had four fees total. FOUR FEES seriously?! I can’t have an account because of four fees that came with my car payment? I would not recommend banking here to anyone. They have also screwed me returning payments to my credit card that shouldn’t have been returned because I had the money in my account so I then get late payments on my credit etc. Also once the branches close there is no after hours phone to call and reach a real person if you need help so you better hope you don’t have any problems with your account after 5! Go anywhere but here!!

I love this Credit union, it never charges me extra for anything, Very nice staff. I would just like to say , Since you have taken Phone Branch away you should have after hour people answering the phones. It’s inconvenient for me to use the app / Online branch . I don’t know why you got rid of it, as It was automated (not real person) and didn’t need to pay people to be on the phone.

Over 20 years and going without having an issue or problem they haven't been able to solve or help with. The online branch is a fantastic option to have as well to manage everything.

Super unimpressed. I had a 4 year car loan with IHMVCU (I do personal banking elsewhere) and recently decided to pay it off early due to the constant hassle! Although the staff has been friendly, I have yet to talk to a helpful/ knowledgable banker. Upon finishing up my loan, I was given instructions to call a different office on Monday "in case canceling your automatic withdrawal didn't work". It shouldn't be this hard!
