I would give negative stars if I could. Starting with total incompetence, terrible customer service, weeks for responses. They have no idea what they’re doing. They’re website states they can complete allocation changes within 2-3 business days and it has been 73 business days and they still can’t figure it out! They’re holding my money hostage and won’t even let me move it to a reputable company. Fraudulent promises. Absolutely horrendous. Do not invest any money with this company. There are thousands of better companies to invest your money!

UPDATE - someone from the company did reach out several times after I posted this review. They seemed concerned with resolving the issues mentioned below. After numerous emails & phone calls I feel like this is my last/best option: The Human Interest 401k plan administration has been mostly underwhelming - and at times infuriating. Unfortunately I am a participant in a plan but I also work as a financial advisor. In looking at hundreds of 401k's over the years I've never really seen anything like this - particularly in terms of contribution processing time (random, but often 7-10 days) investment execution (inaccurate), and performance reporting (outdated and unclear). Human Interest WANTS to appear like everything they're doing is automated and digital (the UI is solid) but I believe it's a smokescreen for some pretty serious problems below the surface. I'm posting a few photos as an example (their performance data [on 5/31/19] is WAY off without any asterisk or explanation, the participant fee schedule is totally random in terms of timing & amounts, etc. I've also tried to be in touch with their "support" team and the level of knowledge is so low that basic questions cannot be answered. If I were a decision maker or business owner I would avoid Human Interest until they figure things out and can prove their product works. I'd be concerned that you could have serious Fiduciary / ERISA liabilities by selecting a plan administrator that can't complete basic functions in a timely/consistent way.

If you invest, I was suggest comparing check stubs to their deposits on 401k. I have had weeks they took money out of my check but did not deposit in 401k. Have had weeks where they deposited less than they took out. I'm constantly having to email them about mishaps like this and it takes weeks and weeks to get problems settled because they act like they don't know what I'm talking about, even though I send pictures of my check stubs to show they have messed up. I would not use them.
Trent, We are sorry to hear that you had multiple poor experiences with the service and communication, as that is certainly not our intention. We would love to have someone reach out to discuss this further and ensure your situation is resolved. Is there a time next week in which we can do so? You may also email [email protected] to connect with a member of our Customer Advocacy Team. Thanks!

Don't ever use this company. They are terrible at customer service. I just spoke to Terrick and he was literally laughing under his breath at me. Please use GuideLine or basically any other service provider. Human Interest drags there feet at any type of customer service request placed before them. 7/10/20 Update - Today Human Interest continues down the dark path of terrible customer service. Today they have decided to debit our payroll bank account $11k for a payroll we didn't even run! Can I can support on the phone, of course not. Are they responding to their emails, of course not! Please just run, do whatever you can do to run. Don't ever use this company!

Pros: Easy to adjust contribution rate, auto-suggest makes it easy to maximize your contribution over the year. Easy to get past statements from a particular time period (needed for other finance matters). Easy to understand split of stocks/bonds/holdings. Clean UI lets me know most important info at a glance. Cons (minor): Address didn't sync from HR system, but other (salary) info did. Some info is slow to load. Cannot choose dollar amount or decimal percentage to contribute.

Our company was using Captain401, which later became Human Interest. They have a user friendly UI that's intuitive and easy to navigate with a great selection of funds including Vanguard.

Human Interest has been a great tool in helping my company and I streamline processes and stay organized and on track. I would highly recommend Human Interest to many other business entities.

As an end-user of this tool I am very pleased with the experience. The UI is very easy to navigate and offers lots of customization without needing to jump through hoops. You can easily adjust your risk rate or contribution. Also, moving money to another retirements account was a breeze. I would highly recommend to my peers!

Very happy with Human Interest. Implementation was a breeze and the technology is robust. Seamlessly pulls data from our payroll system meaning no cutting and pasting and inefficient processes.

Horrible company that fails to meet basic expectations. Fails to fulfill basic requirements of their service. Submitted my issue four months ago, they identified the problem in their system but have failed to fix still after all this time. I'm short $10,000 because they can't fix it and I'm not sure I'll ever see my money.
