I really appreciate their patient and knowledgeable staff. They have always been very helpful and productive. This is the most efficient financial establishment I've worked with. Plus the interest rates for loans are very low. I would recommend this credit union. It's an excellent place to build credit.

GICU is always a fantastic experience and it’s nice to be a part of a credit union, not just a number at a bank.

The staff at this location is absolutely wonderful. I've had the best experiences when visiting this branch opposed to the rest around Des Moines. The wonderful staff isn't enough to save the issues you will have with GICU. My biggest complaint is the out of nowhere blocking of your debit card for absolutely no reason. It doesn't matter if you've used a certain carwash 46 times they will block your card on the 47th visit,why? They don't even know. It's frustrating because it will happen all the time. This is the number one reason why I will close my account after 13 years being a member.

This is the most personable and caring credit union/bank I have ever dealt with. They are not only polite and helpful, but they treat you with respect and trust and honor you as a person, not as a dollar amount.

First off, I'm not a customer of this bank and never would be, my sister is. She is currently in Guatemala and warned her bank, Greater Iowa Credit Union, that she would be for close to a year. Despite the warning they cancelled her debit card, stranding her there. When she called them, they did not try to make it right, leaving her, a 29 year old female in a third world country, to fend for herself. Let this be a warning of the "service" they provide while they sit behind their self serving protocols and don't be fooled by their supposed slogan: "Not for profit, not for charity, but for service – people helping people." I feel at this point the only way to right this wrong is to wait for the second coming of Christ to chase these money changers and their usury ways off the face of the earth.

Customer Service set up my account and printed the wrong account number on the checks and we figured that one out and was suppose to send me corrected checks. They sent the same checks with the wrong account number. They are impossible to set up a automatic payment. This Credit Union is very shady and when you call and talk to them they keep saying that is the way the account is set up. They are all clueless! There online banking is stone age and will not allow you in it because they keep making up new rules and forgetting to tell you.

Greater Iowa Credit Union is honestly the worst credit union in Iowa. They Lie & take advantage. My boyfriend had got a loan from them and finished paying it off and applied for a second and this guy name Nick who works there took his last payment towards his first loan and put it towards his new loan so it looks like he didn't successfully pay off his first loan. We went in and talked to management and he told us there was pretty much nothing he could do cause Nick f;d it up. I've contacted Nick twice in the last week and haven't gotten a response!! He is extremely unprofessional & I would never refer anybody to bank with these low lives. I will be heading down to Greater Iowa today to close my account.

This place is so stressful, it made me want to curl up in a ball and forget about my car payments. Because a mistake on their end with the Skip a Payment paperwork, I am now delinquent and they claim that it all needs to be figured out on my end to get caught up. I am livid. Will be switching unions soon. This place has been nothing but stressful for me.

My vehicle refinance process was very smooth, and the staff were friendly, helpful. With competitive rates, what else could you ask for?

Building is always clean, people are friendly, especially Kathy and Pam. Never had any kind of issue with this bank. No hidden fees or charges. (Updated to take off the bad parking lot as it was redone)
