Refinanced my car through Capital One because I prefer a more technologically advanced system, such as an app or website that I can visit to track my loan progress instead of a basic e-mail reminding you of a payment. Called to inform them of the refinancing and to disable my recurring payment. The lady assured me everything was taken care of so I made my payment to Capital One. 2 days later First Bank of Ohio took money out of my account anyway. Called them and talked to the same woman that disabled the recurring payment and she says “oh yeah, you should have called us sooner”. I work as a bartender in a restaurant so money is tighter than usual due to lack of business because of Covid. Would not recommend this bank and if you’re like me and bought a car and the dealership goes through this bank—ask for a different one or immediately refinance.

This bank is SO shady. We had a 4 wheeler loan through them. You can't get a straight answer. No one answers the phone in the loan department. Additionally, you can't see your payments online. You have to call each time to speak with anyone. They refuse to transfer from one person to another. You can't speak with anyone.

who refuse to address their accounting mistakes on my loan. They mistakenly added on their extra insurance policy to my loan due to their employees not being able to read my insurance policy paperwork I had to send to them quarterly-they’d always misplace my paperwork and claim to have never received it (Until I faxed them the received receipts, then they changed their story to lost) -each quarter it was a fight just to get them to connect my paperwork to my loan account and because of their utter ineptitude, several times they tacked on their additional insurance to my loan even after I had submitted my paperwork (with many attempts) proving my coverage and deductible. This added insurance increased my monthly payments by 2.5 times the amount and added interest to my loan. It took weeks of calls, emails and faxes between me, my insurance agent and the bank to get their fraudulent insurance off of my loan. This happened at least 3 or 4 times during the life of my loan. Mind you, I wasn’t ever notified about their fraudulent addition to my loan until after paying my regular monthly payment , which unbeknownst to me was 2.5 times larger so having only paid my regular monthly payment I erroneously incurred late fees in that extant ammunition they added and interest. That’s the background. Come April, I’m approaching the last grand or so in the loan. I called in April and three times in May (6th, 15th and the 22nd) to talk about loan payoff and asked for help reviewing my account regarding late fees. Several times folks in the loan department said that they saw at least 3 unearned late fees but needed a supervisor to remove them and that the supervisor was not available but would submit my loan for their review and would return my call. Never got a call back, so I would call and would get the same exact phone experience as above. This last time I call, they wouldn’t even transfer my call to the loan department, but gave me a number to someone named just Stephanie with a Columbus number. So I called her and she informed me that my loan has now matured and because if that it is in collections and that she would wave 3 late fees if I paid $600 today. I let her know that the loan department had been telling me for a month now(or longer) that there were at least 3 unearned late fees and they were working to remove them. I tried telling her the background-she was uninterested and literally said that it was too much work to review my account and wasn’t going to bother, she said that the loan department would not speak to me either now that it was in collections. Although the service from this bank has been subpar all along, I was still shocked. I called the loan department back and they said the same thing. On top of all of that, I was in the phone with the loan department many times recently asking for help and it feels like they were just lying and biding time to squeeze more money of me. Waiting for them to mail my account history so I can do it all myself. They only give you access to your payment history not your statements-so I have to now go through and find all of the times they fraudulently added on their insurance and the late fees and interest from that.

Terrible customer service, borderline rude, and never helpful. They went as far to blame me for the issues I was calling about. Will never use this bank again. It was a mistake trying this bank in the first place.
R
They waived my late fee because I tried to put it through online wouldn't go
