First Bank - Asheville West, NC Patton Ave, Asheville

Had a small fluke in my account. Placed a stop payment, payed the fee. But it still took money out! After speaking with the wonderful and kind Allison, we were able to make it so I got the fee back. Thank you!

Empathy and compassion lacking in management. Very unsympathetic towards someone’s anxiety and situation. Poor people skills.

It was much better when it was Asheville savings. The employees here are very nice, but the customer service is horrible, meaning that if your debit card gets compromised you're lucky if you get another one sent to you within a reasonable time frame. It's been 2 weeks and I have yet to get mine. The online banking app never works and I can't log in anymore. The number you call to check your account doesn't work either and says I have no log in info with them. I've been a customer for 20 years.. the same thing happens with my mother when she tries to check her account and she's had an account here for longer than I have. I'm about fed up with this place.

Telling the CEO of a company that has a loan with First Bank (Asheville Savings Bank) that they're not a customer of First Bank is where I blew a gasket with this bank. I think things were better when it was Asheville Savings, but I'm not sure. We sold and refinanced some property where we had loans originally with First Bank, and after years of dealing with their lack of support for even simple things like getting autodrafts set up and other simple tasks, and even demandning a new loan officer after the loans were closed, it was a nightmare for years. We ended up paying a higher rate with a different bank later just to save the headache of dealing with them. When this was a local bank, things were better. I will never do business with First Bank again.

I have always found the employees to be wonderful and incredibly helpful. It's a business - nothing is ever perfect - but there are kind and honest employees at this branch who are willing to do whatever they can to help.

Wish they were open Saturday. 😠
