I contacted FAR in November 2021 and spent several hours over a day or so (that turned into 4 months) before I even got to the point to move forward (based upon their appraisal). The good news is that I didn't listen to them! They insisted my home was only worth $320K~, and so I would need to come up with ~$50K to use their services... I stuck to my beliefs on valuation, and listed my home for $700K - (It sold in 15 minutes for FULL PRICE cash, with backup offers for more). So to recap, well, I won't waste my time... Good Luck

Hands down, one of the most professional companies I've ever worked with. Everyone I have interacted with has been top notch, always going above and beyond. Beyond a doubt, Finance of America Reverse is the best company I've worked with when it comes to reverse mortgages. Highly recommended!

I worked with the FAR team in 2022, not knowing what a reverse mortgage could really do for me. Over the course of a couple hours (spread across a couple days,) I was able to learn if their products fit my needs. No one ever pressured me to sign anything, and only when I was ready to move forward did I do so. My only complaint is that I couldn't reach them the first time very easily - I was put on hold, but allowed to leave a message for them to call me back. Took about a day for them to get back to me, but it went swimmingly from there. This is going to make things a lot easier for me moving forward.

As a Real estate agent helping a client that choose this mortgage was a nightmare. The process took twice as long, uninformed of their own procedures, closing delayed over and over, and confusing for the closing attorney with their paperwork. It scares me to think what this clients family will have to deal with once she passes. DO YOUR RESEARCH before using.

Best reverse mortgage company out there. Everyone is very professional and is knowledgeable of their products. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Please, please, please PLEASE DO NOT GET A REVERSE MORTGAGE! EVER! They are the biggest CROOKS I have ever seen! I have been trying to assist a Client with selling a home involved with one, and I have never been given the run around more in my life. They give a different answer every time you call (IF you can get through to someone in less than 2 hours). They ask for things that cannot legally be produced. They denied my Client's request to sell based on a requirement. The requirement? To produce a Settlement Statement for one thing. There cannot be a Settlement Statement without an Appraisal. There cannot be an Appraisal without a Signed Contract. We can't get a signed Contract because they tell us every time we call, after listening to elevator music for hours on end, they are missing something, then the next time something different. The things they say they are missing, we have proof we sent. They take a minimum of 10 days every time to even look at what you sent them, sometimes more. They know what they're doing. They are racking up more charges by avoiding you, giving you the run around, saying they don't have things we know they have, and by requiring things that cannot possibly be produced. I think they make up stuff to tell you they are missing so you'll go away. Trust me, there are other ways, you do NOT want to ever go down this path. You will lose every bit of control of your life if you do. You may as well just hand over the keys to your house to a total stranger. There appears to be no regulation of these Companies whatsoever. Magnum PI, you would do yourself a favor by not enticing people to be defrauded by these Companies! They are the Devil. Corrupt, evil, deceptive, fraudulent, SCAMMERS.

My dad had a reverse mortgage with this outfit. As soon as he died, they sent a letter saying "so sorry for your loss and oh by the way we're going to foreclose on the house if you don't pay us back IMMEDIATELY. " Despite our probate lawyer sending them all the necessary information to prove we were moving ahead with selling the house, they hounded us through phone calls and letters and did in fact file to foreclose on the loan. Fortunately it takes months for a foreclosure to go through and we sold the house first. Our escrow company, when I told them who held the reverse mortgage, said "they are the WORST."

If you like waiting on hold for hours a day, no responses to e-mails, and being told a check was sent, but getting nothing, then they are great! lol All honesty, after 5+ years in the real estate area, I have never seen such a horrible company with absolutely no communication between any of its employees. Oh and its great when they call you with an automated message saying there is something wrong with your account, then after 2 hours on hold they tell you everything is fine, and they aren't sure why you got the call in the first place. They are all useless! i will never recommend them or Celink to any client of mine!!!

Finance of America Reverse LLC is an awesome group to work with, they spend a lot of time with you, so you have the best experience. I was told that I could call at any time with any question that crossed my mind, and as often as I wished. It was just a great experience. They were a very friendly group. More then 5 stars if I could. Thank you.

An absolute nightmare. Could care less about customer service. I’ve had several questionable experiences with them and very little success in receiving reasonable explainations . I am going to file complaints everywhere I can.I thought it was just incompetence, now several things have become unveiled that suggest unethical, or unlawful efforts on their part
