This bank and the all of there other branches are pathetic. All of the employees & departments do whatever they please & they don’t communicate with one another. The dispute department lets you dispute whatever you feel you need to. But the Cooporate office has a problem with the amounts in disputes, apparently. But no one from either department has a solid foundation on policy and regulations to inform customers with. They make it your fault accusing you of “being a risk to the bank” if I couldn’t dispute a certain charge why did they let me do it in the first place!? Bringing me to say all of 5/3 institutions are disorganized, they don’t communicate properly and at this point they seem to be broke! And the banker at this location acts as though she’s a sales person pressuring you to get other accounts and loans etc.
Hi there, we're sorry that you had a negative experience. Can we help? Feel free to call 877-833-9973. Your business is important to us.

Since December, I have been the victim of identity theft which includes my social security number and my credit cards at multiple banks. With the help of my banker Mackenzie, she has helped me consolidate my debt, added identity/fraud protection to my accounts and made me feel so much more secure. The anxiety has been overwhelming, not knowing if this is going to continue in the future however, it is good to know someone is willing to help in anyway they can. Mackenzie has always returned my calls within 24 hours, always has helpful tips and suggestions, and also checks in from time to time. Honestly, if she hadn't recommended the 360 Access card most recently, while I was waiting for my new card to arrive in the mail, I would have ran out of gas on my way back to town one night. Because of the security and alerts 5/3 offers, I will continue to bank with them even if it happens again. Thank you 5/3 and Mackenzie for all your help.
Thank you very much! We appreciate the positive feedback and your business. Have a wonderful day.

Beyond fed up. Used to love this bank. They constantly nickel and dime. They’ve held my check for almost two weeks with no sympathy or empathy. They lied about it and had me get other people involved when that wasn’t necessary. They take forever. I’ve met with multiple bankers. Two were a complete joke. The third is pretty awesome. I go to Dallas next week, otherwise I’d change tomorrow. Can’t wait to close my accounts out and be done with them. I’m giving two stars because I actually like my current personal banker. And I used to like you guys as a whole. Otherwise I’d give you -5 stars. Going to a credit union where I’m not always getting nickel and dimed on a monthly basis and lied to. ✌️

The people here were very helpful. We spent over an hour talking on-on-one with someone about our options. However, they were supposed to call to follow up, and I was also supposed to receive a new debit card in the mail. Neither have happened and it's been a month. Their app has nice perks though

Terrible customer service! I have been on hold with the brach for 35 minutes. They are normally so nice and friendly but they change people there so often. You never know what you will get. FYI if you have an old business savings account that they make you have they will take money out until its empty and then charge an overdraft fee!. Even if they no longer offer that savings account. I realize that this is partially my fault for not having checked it, but it was never disclosed when I opened it and I have never had a savings that charged. Lesson Learned and now shopping for a new bank.

Looking for a mortgage, first time home buyer or otherwise? Don't. Even. Think. About. It. Our 16 months as a Fifth Third "customer" ends this month as we refinanced with MSUFCU (as we should have gone with MSUFCU in the first place.) Our escrow was screwed up more than 8 times. Our monthly payments were much higher than originally projected (when raising concerns to our "officer" he told me I needed to chill out because I was a first time home buyer and didn't know/was worrying too much. Turned out I was right). Our mortgage payment amount changed 4 times in ONE DAY. Their title company never submitted the PRE, so our taxes were screwed up too - it took months to correct and still got screwed up a few times. Icing on the cake: I called to get our escrow disbursement amount (the check we were being sent after the mortgage changed hands.) Amount was lower than what we in our escrow account, but explanation was satisfactory and difference was small. Check arrives today, $200+ less than what we were told and obviously much less than what was in our account. I get to call on Monday to find out how this "institution" is screwing us again. It was a waste of our money, time and energy to go through them and regret they have even a single cent from us. The ONLY redeeming quality is a lovely young lady, Alexis, who showed care and helped however she could despite limitations. Save yourself. Don't do it. Don't even think about it.

This location is where we had to go when our original location closed. 2 people there tried to help and were kind, but it wasn't enough to save our experience. Joseph Szombati was our home loan "originator" from the other location - according to his profile, "I became a Mortgage Loan Originator because I love helping customers achieve the dream of home ownership." *Pause for laughter* As first time home buyers, we trusted the recommendation to go with Joe & Fifth Third. It is a regrettable mistake that we have painstakingly rectified by moving our mortgage to our credit union in less than a year and a half. Our experience with Fifth Third was appalling. The second I started to feel like something didn't add up I reached out to Joe and he told me I needed to calm down, I was just a nervous first-time home buyer. I was right. The estimate for our mortgage and taxes was WAY off (low) and we ended up paying hundreds more each month. We almost didn't close on our house in time because despite all the communication we made sure was done the ball was dropped by Fifth Third on their end. Again, I was told I needed to calm down AND I was told that that information wasn't received - until I pointed out the email had been responded to so clearly it was - it just wasn't read. Our escrow was screwed up from day one. (By THOUSANDS of dollars. You may ask - that seems like an exaggeration? More than $5K? How is that even possible? Oh, it's possible if your bank is Fifth Third.) Despite doing all the heavy lifting by getting them the correct documentation to fix it, it remained screwed up for more than a year and was only corrected just before we pulled our mortgage from their cold, incompetent hands and switched to our local credit union. Oh, and the title company they hired never submitted the paperwork for our primary residence exemption. So our taxes were screwed up and I had to scramble to fix that as well. Our mortgage payment changed 5 times in one day. ONE DAY! And almost put us in default since that day was also the day before our payment was to be pulled. If I hadn't been paying attention ... grrr. Fifth Third took a parting shot by charging us PMI for a month they didn't have our mortgage and the amount they said we could be getting back in an escrow disbursement was far more than we received. I had a time, date and name of the person who gave me the amount (I learned to take detailed notes of EVERY phone call or meeting) - and the bank still came back with "we don't know" but that we weren't getting any of that money back. Our credit union was privy to what was going on and was absolutely shocked. "We don't know what's going on there, but that is 100% messed up." The credit union has been AMAZING and we have zero regrets in switching, even did my car loan with them recently. Also when we closed our Fifth Third bank account at this location the "agent" in the bank was too busy to get to us in person and the lovely young lady at the counter took care of us and said he'd call to confirm it was done. The agent called my cell phone 15 min after we left - listened to my voicemail with my name and feminine voice - and asked for my husband instead. Are you #&^*@! kidding me? (Side note, my husband doesn't handle this part of our life, I handle mortgage, insurance and bills - and I'm primary on all accounts.) While all this was going on, my mother was in the hospital and we almost lost her. We sold her house, moved her twice and dealt with many many other issues in our lives that hit at the same time. We had JUST gotten married before we started this process. I imparted this info to our "officer" Joe and that I really needed his help for this to go smoothly. My last call with him was after we got screwed on escrow disbursement - "I'll look into it and get back to, I'm so sorry!" Good thing I didn't hold my breath - I never heard from him again. Thanks Joe and thank you Fifth Third. We will be sure to continue to let everyone know where NOT to go until each and every location closes.

Terrible customer service. Over 2 weeks and could not get an answer from the agent about the loan status. Was lied to about being able to contact a manager to discuss my options when the agent would not call me back. Was told my credit was run without my permission but then found out that it had never been run. Overall terrible experience and will not use 5/3 in the future.
