The people are nice and they provide good service but they are never open when you need them. I mean come on 9 to 4 M - F and closed on the weekends. It’s like you try to be unavailable for your customers. That is right in the middle of the work day, at least have an hour or two working people can access the bank. Thinking about moving to a more accessible bank.

Never open when I need them. Closes at 4pm, and it 95% prevents me from being able to bank. If they do not return to closing @ 5pm, I will be forced to change banks after being a customer for half my life. Sad

So get this, my wife goes in to Citizens Bank in Claremont to open her new business account. You see, we recently moved here and she decided to start her own business. With that comes the need for a business checking account. So in to this bank she goes. Meets with Marlo and provides her with all of her documentation to open the account. From the minute she walks in, my wife said she felt as though she was being treated with a condescending attitude. My wife has a home based business and when she mentioned that she was asked why she doesnt have an office. Other pointed, obviously suspicious questions were then asked, such as why my wife moved to the area. What business of any bank is it as to why my wife works from home or why she moved anywhere? On to the deposit item, a $1000 check my wife took over the phone from one of her client's customers. You see, my wife is a debt collector and regularly takes payment by check over the phone and uses legal software to produce check payments that are recognized and approved by the Federal government. These types of checks have been legal for decades. Anyway, my wife did forget her proof of residence as her license still bore her old address. Marlo told her to bring it back at 230pm that day and would call if "any red flags came up." I have been banking with a number of banks for 30 years and have never had anyone say anything even remotely close to that to me. Not even 30 minutes later my wife's phone rings, its Marlo. She says they will not be opening the account because the check she was depositing was "fraud". When asked how she came to this conclusion, she stated that security had "looked at it" and determined that it was fraud. My wife asked if the check issuer was contacted or even the bank that the check was issued from, and Marlo said they dont have to do that and to go open with another bank. I heard her talking to my wife on speaker and her tone was completely condescending and demeaning. Anyway, my wife then walked into the bank a half block away and they gladly accepted the check and opened the account immediately for her. Beware of the people at this branch and this bank. Shame on all of you for treating anyone like a criminal. By the way, my wife's business is registered with the State and with the Federal government. Surely not something that someone who is committing a fraud would do.
