    I had a distincly poor experience in trying to conduct basic personal banking service at the Redmond, WA branch on Cleveland street in Redmond, WA. The BECU associate was great, but the wait time, access and parking issues made this experience so poor that I am rethinking doing my banking at BECU. Like most of us, I do the bulk of my banking online - which any bank can provide today. However, the only reason I use BECU is because it does provide local offices and services for the occasional times I need to do something in person like getting a document notarized, or accessing an ATM. This makes easy access and ease of interacting with a local branch a key "value add" in banking/financial services. My experience today was that it was extremely difficult to even get to the BECU office due to the limited parking. To add insult to injury, we ultimately found parking in the same building where BECU signs pointed us. The signs say to ask for validation when you are inside. We went in and waited 15 minutes to see someone in order to conduct our business and asked to have our parking validated while we were meeting with the BECU associate. She "validated" our parking on her computer and told us we were good to go with parking - that it was automated and didn't need to do anything else when leaving. We then left the BECU branch and went to our car. In the thirty minutes we had been inside, we already had a parking ticket for $56.50 waiting on our car saying we had illegally parked without paying via phone and without getting validation. The ticket time stamp was within 12 minutes within of our parking and issued while we were still waiting in the line inside the BECU office. The parking and validation process and wait inside this BECU office all add up to a poor business process and poor customer relations. I won't be returning to BECU anytime soon and encourage it to focus on the basics of how it handles business fundamentals like parking and taking care of customers. In the meantime, we are going through a complicated "appeal" process with Diamond Parking and BECU to try and get the ticket rescinded (apparently, the fact that our parking was validated after the ticket was written but while we were still in the branch isn't a simple enough reason to simply make this go away). Poor service, poor customer experience.

    Great change from the regressive fees and gimmicks of national banking institutions. Opening an account was quick and simple. They offer convenient options for partnering with local causes that make it easy to donate to charity. I would have like to have more options for personalizing my debit card design, though. Also, a public restroom in the building is a necessity.

    Hands down one of the best branches we have ever attended. We are so lucky to be members with BECU. Everyone is beyond helpful and extremely genuine. They really want to help you. Special shout-out to Jordan and Josh today. Jordan has an upbeat, relatable personality; we see big things to come in his future. Josh was extremely receptive and understanding to feedback we had regarding inclusion. We feel comfortable coming into this branch as an openly gay couple and will be members of BECU for as long as we can. Can't wait to look at home loans with you all in the bear future.     Absolutely horrible customer service. Would like to know why it takes 30 to 40 minutes to open a checking account ? It has never taken any other bank that I've been to 30 to 40 minutes to open up a checking account. My boss has BECU and gave me $100 check to open up an account with and I get direct deposit in 2 days. I average anywhere from 3200 to $5,000 a month. But because of my appearance I believe they were extremely rude. I came in after work looking messy and they rudely greeted me and really told me they wouldn't open up an account they didn't work the last 15 minutes they didn't do anything in the last 15 minutes. Wow I wonder if BECU that rule or the employees make that rule. I have chosen to go to another bank needless to say. I would actually give them a - 2 Stars

    I switched to BECU about a year and a half ago and it has been great! My experiences with this branch have been similarly positive. The location has easy parking nearby, the staff are friendly and helpful, and I've never had to wait particularly long. I am glad I made the change and glad I have the Redmond branch so close by.

    The rating is more for the ease of use rather than the service. The staff are really friendly and i've never had a problem with the branch itself. However, it is in a very inconvenient spot. The only near by parking lots have very small spaces and are nearly always full, so you might have to park quite far away. I wish it was back in the Safeway, so it wouldn't be so hare to get to!

    Firstly I would like to say the gentleman that greeted us was very friendly which is why I am giving the whole experience 2 stars instead of one. It is very important for people going to BECU for a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) to understand their process, as it is overall terrible. First how they value your home is only by a computer generated system which is a terrible way to get value of a property. I deal with giving clients values every day and a computer generated system is in no way accurate. This system does not take into account any upgrades or condition of the home. It only takes into account estimated market appreciation which may be fine for you, but will be lower than actual value 100% of the time. They even stated after the fact that it is very conservative which is not helpful. For instance we bought a home and put in over $100,000 in a remodel as the home was in rough shape when we bought it. The computer states it is only worth about 100k more than we paid for it which is actually 100k less than other computer generated estimates. Second what you don't know going into the credit union is the people that work there are more like order takers and have little to no experience with heloc loans. It is no fault to them and they do the best they can, but if I am dealing with my credit being pulled and applying for a loan I would like the person I am working with to be an expert in that area not someone that also helps people open checking and savings accounts and transfer funds, etc. I want them to know the ins and outs of the process and be a subject matter expert to help guide me as one would expect. This is just how BECU does their process. Third and probably most frustrating is even if you rightfully disagree with the value this computer program just spits out you can not get a true appraisal done by a real person who is a licensed appraiser. They state that whatever the computer says that is what they go with unless the square footage is wrong from what county records states. These computer generated systems are very inaccurate at giving true value of a home. You need a human eye and research to get accurate information. Computers can not see the overall condition of the home, community/neighborhood look and feel, current market conditions (they are always months behind what is actually going on.

    I love BECU: great interest rates, low (or no) fees, and understanding employees. This location seems to always be busy every time I go, however. Maybe due to the fact of being a highly traveled area? Parking can be hard to find to access, especially since they made Redmond Way and Cleveland St 2-way roads.
