The fact that I even had to give one star makes me upset! Bank of the west charges overdraft fees even when you follow their policy to avoid it! My account went negative and although I put money back with in their time frame they still charged me 3 overdraft fees. When you attempt to call you get put on 30 minute wait times only to be hung up on. I wish I chose literally any other bank than them. Don't waste your time here.

WARNING!!! DO NOT BANK HERE!!!! If I could give this branch a zero or a negative number of stars it would reflect more accurately their level of service. I had an account in January 2015 that was credit only due to fraudulent charges. Somehow this account still accrued overdraft fees when it was set up to only receive credits such as refunds from the fraudulent charges. I was assured by the customer service manager that she would take care of the issue and get my money back. Well that has changed and now almost two years later I am still trying to get my money back. I am now told that I wont be able to get any of my over $300 returned from all of the bank fees that were applied to my credit only account, which was suppose to be completely closed after I was refunded the money from the fraudulent charges. So they took over $300 out of my new account to pay the bank fees of the old account which should have never had any fees because it was a "credit only" account. The manager at this branch completely dropped the ball. I trusted this bank for many years with my money and this is how they treat me. There was no follow up, no accountability. I cannot believe the lack of concern over this issue. Now I am in the process of contacting regional managers, which I was told I could not have the contact info for until the customer service manager can gather all of the documents, or in other words, she needs time to cover her behind before her boss gets involved. DO NOT BANK WITH THIS BRANCH!!!!!!

I've been a credit card customer of Bank of the West since February, 2020. I received a solicitation to become a checking customer. I use the credit card a lot, and I thought it made sense to consolidate my banking business at one bank. Because of COVID, I used the online checking account opening method that was listed in the solicitation. A checking and savings account were opened and became visible in my online banking within three hours. I was planning on going to the branch to make my opening deposits through the drive-thru the next day. After calling the branch in the morning to determine the best way to get in and out fast, I thought I had a solid plan. Then the problems began. At 12:12 pm, just 17 hours after the accounts were opened, I received an email telling me that the account(s) requested in the application would be closed with no reason given. I called the online account opening people to see if things could be salvaged. I was told that I could open the account in the branch because they use different procedures. It didn't make sense. If the account was closed after opening online, there was no reason to believe that an account opened in the branch wouldn't receive the same treatment. I called the branch to find out of it was really true that an in-person visit would make any difference, and I was told, "the accounts would get closed again." At this point, I'm getting two different answers, and I decided to save my time and end this mess, but it didn't stop there. I interpreted the use of the word "account(s)" to mean plural. I was wrong. Only the checking was closed, but the savings was left open, and the savings has a maintenance fee without a checking account or a pretty high $5,000 minimum balance. I had to request it to be closed, and currently, have my fingers crossed they don't charge a fee even though it was open for about 3 days. I've heard of people being only able to have a savings account. I've heard of people only being able to have checking and savings accounts, but this is the first I've seen that as a credit card customer, that I couldn't have a checking account at a bank. If you became a credit card customer of BOTW during the Jan, 2020 time frame, and get solicited to expand your relationship, DON'T! You'll be disappointed. I swear that the only reason they would have closed my accounts is because they evaluated me as an unknown person rather than as someone with seven months of history. I'll be finishing out my next credit card rewards tier, and then closing the account, and washing my hands of them.

Stay as far away as possible, they purposely submit funds to collect fees, and when you reach out for an explanation it does not make sense. I check my app before every purchase just an OCD I have no one wants a declined transaction. My account is positive and has a positive balance. So each transaction showed a updated balance. Now due to an emergency I had one transaction overdraft the account, equaled one overdraft fee. Makes sense right. Yes of course. Now what doesn't make sense is the fact that all the transactions processed on the positive side also obtained an overdraft fee? When I called for an explanation of how an overdraft fee could be placed in a payment that didn't overdraft the account, simply told the others were being held still so they count as overdrawn as well. Mind you they all were pulled from a positive account balance. $175 in fees for transactions that were pulled from a positive balance? Let's just purposely hold transactions so get fees. Wanted to try a smaller bank but back to BoA I'll go. Just need my payroll for tomorrow to post and I'm closing my account.

My business was fortunate enough to dodge this bullet based upon other reviews shown in this page. Prior to looking at the reviews. I reached out to this branch to establish a small business account, and like most banks they require certain documents in order to set up the account, which I have. I received a phone call from a person who identified themselves as the branch manager who advised that she needed these documents sent to her for approval prior to opening the account. A couple days later l, I finally received a response back from this same individual with multiple questions which originated concern to me because the questions were quite personal about my business and grew greater in an interrogation type manner as the messages continued. I haves opened accounts at other banks without any issues so the extreme interrogation that I received from this branch raised a huge red flag to me which resulted in me contacting the corporate office for general procedures for opening a small business account. At the end of it all, I simply decided to take my business elsewhere as I do not wish to inject my business into a financial institution that conducts business in this manner. In the future I have learned to check reviews before even attempting to make contact because reviews speaks volume, and are generally accurate.

Let's just say, I will pass on an experience with them again. I went in to cash my paycheck (which said Paid if desirable at any Bank of the West branch location) at this branch. Well, after spending a few minutes with the teller, who wasn't the most sociable person, she told me that I couldn't cash my check there. Well, that little disclaimer on the bottom said I could. So I called my employer and they informed me that I could because they have an account with them. So I went back in and talked with the Assistant Customer Service Manager. She seemed agitated that I came back in and asked for her. She tried to come off as pleasant but clearly I wasn't worth her time. They sent me away with no help or even an apology or a "sorry for the inconvenience." Like I said, I will not deal with them or recommend anyone to open an account at this branch.

7/10 waiting in the drive thru for 25 minutes and only one car moves. Tried to call to find out further info, I get redirected to a 1-800 number. This bank is a joke. I didn't pick this bank it was thru a dealership. Come to find out they are no longer do business with this bank either. I can't imagine why a drive thru would take so long. It would be long before everyone get a clue this bank is not up to par. DON'T BANK HERE. Tolleson office.

Horrible customer service. They have the inside of the bank close and make you use the drive through. But your wait takes for ever. The cashiers help one person than walk away. They make the next car wait 5-10. This banks is the worst. They need a total over haul and management and staff. If I wasnt forced to use them Iwouldn't. .

I was there a few weekends ago on a Saturday, experienced the worst customer service ever. All I needed to get done was to update my last name on the account; however, since it was 11, and I did not have an appointment, they refused to see me. They persisted in setting me up for an appointment for the following week. I tried explaining myself to the teller, and the banker behind me STOPS helping her customer to tell me that she was not going to see me and that I needed to make an appointment for next week Saturday. Mind you, and this was all happening in the open in front of all other customers. Very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE PERIODT.

This bank SHOULD NOT be providing lease options to customers and Peoria Ford needs to stop doing business with them immediately. I've never dealt with such incompetent people in my life. They throw on late fees for errors on their end and notify you a year later that they're due. No calls, no email/mail notices, nothing. The supervisors excuse is "we don't notify you of late fees until the late fees have added up to at least $100." I asked why it wasn't brought up when my husband called in two months ago and the supervisors excuse was "I can't control what the rep decides to share and doesn't share with you." Wouldn't waive them and said, "it's okay, you don't have to pay them now, you can pay them at the end of the lease." What kind of business is this??
