Michelle was awesome! Our account was being overdrawn because of an error and she called me right away so I could arrange for it to be taken care of before the account was overdrawn. I appreciate her checking on our situation and also for letting me know about it so that I could take care of it without getting penalized! Thanks Michelle!

Mishel Phillips from Bank Midwest has been WONDERFUL in working with some of the problems we have run into. From opening a business line of credit to helping us deal with problematic checks, she has always been cheerful, efficient, effective, and willing to do her best for us, her customer. I am impressed with Bank Midwest as a whole and Mishel, specifically. Thanks for the great work.

I have never written a review in my life. I went looking for your bank Midwest site. My name is Ronni Gochee I’m CEO Founder of Hope Dental in Blue Springs. But we see thousand of kids and adults a year. People that would never get to see dentist .we do dentures extractions cleaning filling sealants cleanings. Everything u would do in dental office. We also r mobile so we can go to schools or nursing homes. It’s been a hard year for us. So when the PPP money came available we contacted bank Midwest we found a Angel in Mishel Phillips. I can’t tell u from the day she called me back she has supported us and made this difficult time so easy for us not her. She has kept in contact made sure we were ok. Just finished our forbearance paperwork. I know my friends r struggling with there banks. In March of 2020 my bussiness was closed due to covid-19. Then they came out with the Paycheck Protection Program. I Called Bank Midwest and was given to Mishel Phillips she was so much help she worked with me from begining to end on the application. She worked all day Saturday Thur Sunday evening until we had everything I needed. I could have never have done this without her help. Bank Midwest should be proud to have her on staff. I had been a long time customers of this bank, probably 15+ years. It has steadily gone down hill with customer service. It started about 4 years ago when the bank sent my ex husband (at that point he had been my ex for about 3 years and had never been linked to my new account that I opened after getting divorced) a debit card linked to my checking account and he went on a spending spree. I noticed the charges and immediately went to the bank where it was discovered that my ex received a debit card for my account. They apologized, refunded my money but took 2 weeks to get me a new debit card. Then when they refunded my money they said that they gave me too much and had to take more money out. Then they called me about 3 months ago advising that the safety deposit box had not been paid for in a year. They were sending the notices to my ex husbands house and he hadn't responded. I advised Nick (the Bank Midwest person that called me) that I had not been getting the notices and asked why they were contacting me as it was clearly not my address that they were sending the notices to. He advised that my name was on the account, he would reach out to my ex and find out if he was going to pay and then call me back with any info. I never received a phone call but did see that they removed $150 out of my account for drilling the box to since no one came forward with a key. There was no follow up on Nick's end at all to contact me and advise me of what was going on. I took him at his word that he would contact me prior to anything being done. That was a mistake. Last month my account was hacked again but an individual that ran up thousands of dollars. I, again, caught the issue and contacted my bank right away. At this point I was tired of the issues and had made plans to cancel my account and move banks. I went into the lobby removed some of my money that I know was mine and left the account open for about 2 more weeks to make sure things were taken care of. When I went into to close my account the personal banker was too busy looking at her Apple watch reading her text to truly help me out. She closed my account, or so I thought, and just confirmed my reasons for leaving. Now about 2 weeks ago I get a bill from Bank Midwest saying that I owe them $405 due to a provisional credit being refunded twice during my hacking issue. The merchant had refunded my money and the bank also refunded my money. I called and spoke to Gage at the corporate office who completely understood where I was coming from in that he knew that it was confusing to see a lot of debits and credits and he works in that world, so yes it would be confusing to someone that doesn't. He said I needed to speak to the branch that I bank at. I called and was unfortunate enough to speak to Nick again with the Blue Springs Branch. He was rude, condescending and had 0 customer service skills. I tried to explain that BankMidwest refunding my money without making sure it was supposed to was not my problem and I didn't feel it was fair to have to come up with $405 due to their error with refunding the money too quickly. Nick advised that the money returned was "provisional" and I should not have had my account taken to a $0.00 balance for at least 90 days. I advised that i was not made aware of that time frame, I spoke to a personal banker when I did close my account and she never told me of that provisional credit or talk to me about what is in my best interest. It is poor customer service...they are there to educate their customers not take their ignorance for finances for granted and use it to benefit themselves.

I highly recommend this bank! I’ve been banking with them for years! Mishel and Nick are always so helpful and willing to take care of any questions I might have. Just the other day I went in there to transfer some funds into a savings account! Nick sat me down in his office and created a saving account for me. He was extremely Polite and he did it super fast I was impressed! So now I’m planning on taking my 2 young kids (8) (7) up there to get them started on a saving account! I know kids can get a little wild and uneasy at times but with Nick helpin us I’m not worried one bit!!!

My husband and I had accounts with them for quite some time. When we moved and shut down our joint account, our insurance tried to auto draw and they re-routed it to my husband's old personal account. We didn't know they re-routed it and we thought we took care of the problem when we switched payment methods with our insurance. Instead, they kept an overdraft fee on the old account and waited until it racked up over $200.00 in late fees, shut down the account and reported us to the checking bureau before even trying to contact us. I must day I am very disappointed that they would treat loyal, long time customers this way. We will never bank with them again and have told all our family and friends to avoid them.
