So here is the TEA....First I would like to say that the tellers that I have encountered at the Tao branch are absolutely amazing. The customer service there is BEYOND exceptional. NOW for my situation with card services aka "RUDE JOSH" I decided to try out Amazon Prime for a FREE month trial. I signed up and used it but made sure I cancelled it before the month trial was over. Well guess what?? Amazon decided to continue to charge me. I NEVER authorized them to continue to charge me. Please know I used to work at a bank for 10 yrs so I know how this works. SO I go into the branch they are wonderful getting me the paper work I need, getting me a new debit card, and refunding my NSF fee that I received due to this charge. THEN I get a rude message from Josh in card services saying this was not fraud because I have done business with Amazon before...SO THE F WHAT if I did, I didn't authorize them to continue taking money. He then stated I need to take it up with them they were not going to refund me blah blah...REALLY we are going to argue over $14.00 give me my money back someone!!! Trying to contact Amazon is like trying to get Trump on the phone. LORD......I left this credit union before now I know why I left.....why did I come back?

Got an auto loan from them for a 2019 Hyundai Sonata and my current USAA insurance automatically extends coverage up to 30 days as i have multiple cars with USAA. I added coverage on 35th day i.e. lapse of 5 days. This was totally unintentional. Nevertheless ATFCU said they don't accept automatic coverage (no where on their loan agreement) and charged me 680 + interest for lapse of coverage. For the sake of argument, even if we denied automatic coverage and took lapse of 35 days; where in the world would someone pay 680 premium for just over a month. That's like annual premium for the family sedan. These guys are thieves.

I love Austin Telco. They are a local bank/credit union which means that when I call them I talk a person here in Austin that provides great service. Their fees are way less than national banks and they offer great auto loans with a low interest rate. I paid less than $200 in interest for my auto loan last year which is insane. The process was easy too. I told them the car that I was interested in, they let me know what they offered as far as financing goes and then you can go to the dealership with a check and not have to haggle over price or tricky financing scenarios. I'm sure car salesmen hate it.

I have used Telco for over 20 years for my personal and business accounts. They are extremely accessible and helpful. When I call them, I speak to someone at the branch I use and they know who I am. Crazy low fees. If I deposit a customer's check that bounces they charge a flat $5 fee. If I used Wells Fargo it would be $30 and there are examples like that across the board.

Staff are varied, from a sweet, lovely, efficient, knowledgeable granny, to helpful, polite but less knowledgeable others, to an impersonal and clueless few. Also, some services are ill-defined and hard to set up. What is “Bill Pay” (can I repay my brother’s loan?); it can’t be set up in the app (where it’s clearly waiting to be used) nor at a branch (nobody knows about it; try online) nor on my phone online in a web browser (not app) nor have I yet to discover it on my laptop nor have they responded to multiple messages via my account online about it. Is this feature still in beta testing? Can anyone help me with it? But hey! It’s a credit union (co-op): you simply get what you put into it. If you’ve never been to a members’ meeting, you’ve no business complaining. Get involved with your credit union! Mea culpa.

The absolute worst credit union or lender I have ever had dealt with and that's saying something since I've banked with close to two dozen lenders for personal and business needs over the last 20 years in several states. Pamela Cotton-VP service and Chad Heil loan officer have to be the worst lending employees ever. Five days not returning emails, anti-small business owners, rude, unhappy, and condescending, unlike with most loan officers and lenders they won't talk with you at all, they don't allow you use the same LO you worked with before to build a relationship with, the most ultra-conservative lending practices maybe in the country by a credit union. You call the main ATFCU number and being on hold for 20-30 minutes is normal, it takes DAYS (I kid you not) for them to get back with you on loan approvals. Their phone app looks like something a two-year-old uses crayons to draw up and it's like their stuck in the 1950's. Do your banking and lending with the big boys in central Texas like I do and I shouldn't have tried to forge a new relationship with such a small little angry credit union. I use Navy Fed, PenFed, and RBFCU they know how to treat people correctly.

ABSOLUTE CROOKS - They okayed lifting limits for my trip to UK and then declined my PRE-PAID card everywhere I went, EVEN when I got back home. I have no idea if my bills will be paid with my own money. FRAUD!!! FRAUD!!! FRAUD!!! This company needs to be shut down and sent to prison. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Close your accounts, bank elsewhere.

I love baking with Austin Telco, it is like stepping back in time to 1987. I am filled with nostalgia when a three day hold is put on a cashiers check. I’ve done hundreds of thousands in deposits and they consistently treat me like with the same distrust as a meth head at a pawnshop.

I still bank with them because switching banks for me would be a nightmare right now. They are unbelievably rude. The best experience I have ever had with them was when I signed up (of course), but since then the best I can hope for is civil.
