I've been with this bank since 2008. I think it's time to change that. Despite my good credit I can't ever seem to get a loan. Completely ridiculous every time over the years it's a "new reason". Never been evicted or bankruptcy. Debt to income ratio very good. Credit very good. Maybe racism? Not sure but maybe it's to take my money to a bank with more options they just holding my money.

Be forewarned! We went in to the office due to a loan request. After receiving many "confirmation requests" via text and email we finally sat down with someone. An hour later having clearly communicated our needs/expectations plus the time crunch we were under. He promised a follow-up within 3 days (Monday). Not only did that not happen, we even had no replies after sending several inquiries. Mid-Day Tuesday we get a simple OH SORRY from the same person we had talked to referring us to someone else. I find it absolutely pathetic and unprofessional. We had been warned about Arizona Fed prior to coming in, but we figured we should still try it anyway. Their staff knew about all the details of our situation yet they fell flat on their faces as I had been told ahead of time.

Have been with AZ Federal Credit Union since 1986. I do all my banking here and find the staff very caring and efficient. At times phone wait times are long but I suppose that happens everywhere. Perhaps with Covid people are banking by phone. I would not think of banking anywhere else! Good job AFCU!
Hi Pamela Peterson – Thank you for the 5 stars!

So disappointed! We’ve been trying to refinance our home since July 2nd and we still have not received the final paperwork. It is Monday, November 16 and still haven’t closed. Our credit has been hit 2 times which has lowered our credit score which they claim is a “soft hit”. We can tell it’s one department blaming the other. Randy is our representative with AZFC and all he is worried about is his commission and blaming others! Worst service ever! Stay Away and Go to another institution that’s going to be honest!
Hi Patty – Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that the process to close on the loan has taken longer than you expected. This year, particularly in July and August, we saw an extreme increase in mortgage activity. Although we were swift to act in posting jobs/hiring/training new employees, it has taken a few months to see the benefit of the additional team members.

If I could give 0 stars to this branch I would. I just switched to AZ Federal CU this year after hearing great things from my parents. So far, they’ve been great. Today I went to deposit (not cash) a personal check into my account. When I handed the teller my card and the check she immediately started questioning the check because as she put it, I was depositing a personal check not written from AZ Fed (it was from USAA). She asked ridiculous questions like “well who wrote this check?” And “I mean, we don’t know if there are sufficient funds in their account.” and “You should have gone to their branch, like if it was from Chase you should’ve gone to their a Chase branch”. I sat their baffled, answering her questions one after another. I reiterated, I just wanted it deposited. Clear it whenever. I wasn’t about to drive all the way out to downtown Phoenix where USAA is to cash it when I wasn’t in a hurry. Still she continued to question the validity of the funds. I suggested she could call the bank to verify but she said she wasn’t allowed - it’s against policy. I understand having a hold on a check as a new customer. Completely fine. But after reiterating I wasn’t asking her to cash it, she continued to argue with me. I finally told her she was making me feel like a criminal for wanting to add money into my account and asked for her manager. He came right over, looked at the checked and asked the issue. I explained what was going on and he quickly and politely said he would deposit it no problem, there was just a 2 day hold that would be issued (understandably). Now why couldn’t she have just done that do simply or politely or even just said she needed a managers help if she was so confused. The initial teller should have some serious training on customer service skills. I’ll never go back to this branch again.
Hi Whitney – Thank you for your feedback – we’re sorry you had a poor service experience. It’s good to hear the manager was able to step in and deposit the check for you. If you have any other concerns please send us a direct message on Facebook.

Been banking with Arizona Federal for over 6 years and reluctantly paying their "membership fee". The pitch has always been that the fee was used to pay for services like credit monitoring and cash back rewards. I never bought that argument but grudgingly paid the fee hoping someday Arizona Federal would recognize that people don't like paying an institution for the opportunity of holding their own money. It doesn't help that they've had a giant marketing budget and used member's returns to pay for celebrities to pitch their "product". I love Kurt Warner but don't believe a credit union needs a mascot or a pitchman or that members should subsidize advertising. As a matter of fact, of all the different credit unions I have accounts with, Arizona Federal is the only one that charges a fee. It's really disingenuous and likens Arizona Federal to being a bank masquerading as a credit union. I've since found other credit unions in the area that provide the same services to which Arizona Federal charges a fee and would recommend all members explore their local banking alternatives too. As for this location, the facility is new and beautiful. Of the few times I frequented only once was I warmly greeted. Otherwise, the staff and tellers are fairly cold and unwelcoming.
Hi Conrad – Thank you for your feedback. While the $3 Membership Dues does give you access to credit monitoring and cash back rewards, one of the benefits many members enjoy is the year end PLUs payout. When the credit union does financially well all the active members reap the benefits. Since 2012 we’ve paid more than $30 million in PLUs to our members. And while we did have a partnership with Kurt Warner, that partnership ended almost 2 years ago. We understand that you’ve chosen to switch to a different credit union. We wish you the best of luck and we’ll always be here if you ever choose to rejoin the cooperative. Thank you!

Went in to get personal loan and lady that helped me was older caucasian and made it a very bad experience for me, no positive customer service, seemed like she judged me w the way she was looking at me and automatically assumed i wouldnt get approved or could afford to get the loan. I went in dirty and tired getting off a 13 hour shift from a labor job and was still in my work clothes. I am also a tattood individual but am a hard worker and maintain my credit as well as my financial responsibilities. I am getting married and need to just consolidate all my wedding costs along w the honeymoon so i can make all my payments to one place and and intend to pay it off before the year end. I am more than capable of affording it. She discouraged me and talked to me like there wasnt a point in even trying to apply and kept making it seem like i have a really low chance yet she never asked how much i make annually or my credit score which is at 750. She made me feel stupid and incompetent. I just went into another location, got instantly approved for 5k more than what im asking and left w the cash in an easy process. They helped me and did not judge me, they treated me with respect.

AZFCU is a great bank and I've been a happy member since 1996. It's the only bank I've heard of that gives cash back at the end of the year, low membership fee of $3 a month, provides fraud alerts and credit monitoring. Unlike the previous bad review I give AZFCU 5 stars all the way!!!! I typically don't give reviews, was only on here to look up todays buisness hours and but felt I had to stop and write my great experiences with friendly and helpful staff. THANK YOU AZFCU!
Thank you!

We had a difficult situation and these guys stepped up and delivered! Can't say enough about a company that looks out for their customers! Long story short, a teller made a mistake (understandable, this happens) that caused us some major issues. Leadership looked at this as an opportunity to work with their team and make it right. Bottom line, they listened and did the right thing! We felt respected and appreciated as a customer! Thank you!
Hi Mark – Thank you for your feedback. We’ve receive notification that our management team has been in contact with you and that they are address your concerns with you. Thank you.
