    I cashed my IRS refund check at this Amscot. They charged me top dollar to “cash” it. Made me load $5000 on an Amscot money card and money orders for the rest…. Yes money orders! I Made a purchase from Amazon with card … no problem. Then go to use my card to pay for an emergency veterinary visit at 2am and was denied. Had to run to this location to get $2400 before they would start surgery. Explained my situation and they charged me $74 to get $2400 of MY MONEY! Called number on card next day and they tell me THEY put a lock on my card because I made a purchase in Michigan (Amazon purchase). That is why my card was denied. She lifted the lock and I was good to go. But didn’t understand why I was upset about them charging me to get my money when they had my card on lock for no good reason. And without advising me of such.

    I had to come and leave a review because I was so impressed at this service. I often come to this Amscot to get money orders and cash checks, the representatives are usually prompt and efficient and gets me in and out. I am not sure if this is usual protocol but I was so impressed when I randomly received a call from this Amscot because someone was trying to cash a money order that I had purchased 3 months ago. Of course I had given this person the money order so they verified the information and went on about the day. This made me feel so secure and safe and taken care of because with all the craziness happening, I feel good knowing that with this large amount of money, had it been stolen or lost, there would have still been a way for me to have it secured . I really appreciated that follow up call and feel safe coming here . Thank you!

    Sorry but this place is a joke. Why should I be questioned every time I want to deposit money?! You don’t need to know where my money comes from and the amount I make every week especially since I’m depositing and not taking out a loan. Makes no sense.

    I stopped at this location after I just left the ATM, withdrawing enough money to cover the money order I needed. I still had the withdrawal slip in hand from the bank. Upon handing the clerk my money, she proceeded to treat one of the hundreds as suspected counterfeit, even to the point of having management review it as well. Incredibly humiliating! I have never stolen anything in my life! I am not a theif! I will never step foot in another Amscot (not that they care). Any other day I would have gotyen a money order from the bank, but since it's Sunday... I should have gone to Publix.

    Seems like everytime i go here not only me but everyone has a problem with an employee who does not know how to do anything. They refused to cash a check from me. My sister wrote me a check for $60 and she said to them on the phone it was ok. Then i got non answers to why. What is the purpose of this place money orders only? Then i tried to pay a ticket which i done before at this Amscott and others but now we forgot how. Seems like a easy job here to do nothing all day. I will never return here again and will take my business elsewhere. So petty iwould understand if there was an issue with something but there's not. Amscott is useless in mean justify your existence peasants.

    I simply went in to get my first loan. New to the experience but new what I needed to have. I immediately am barely greeted with negative energy by this girl who just walks away and then gets another guy to come over to me and then the way they are talking and he is looking at me its giving me the feeling like I’m doing something wrong. He keeps looking at me suspiciously when I have social anxiety and I don’t understand why I’m being made out to look like I’m lying just because my job pays differently than others like I may need to get a loan here or there too. So let’s make this work is what I’m thinking. None of my paper work I sent it was good enough, which I can understand, so I go to the bank to get a bank statement that has my name on it. So I do that and they tell me I can marker out everything besides what I need. So I do that. I return to the store to a different man there and different people that I’ve seen before at Amscot. I redact (markered out) everything they didn’t need to see besides my most recent deposit from my job. The person attending to me (different than the first time) was instantly telling me it’s not okay because he couldn’t see everything on there. I began to say he doesn’t need to because it’s irrelevant all you need to see is the deposit. I get payed through PayPal because I’m an independent contractor for a Nanny Service. So then time goes on and they finally get it approved after I give him another piece of paperwork that says my name and bank on it. It was a lot but I was willing to put in work and cooperate to get a loan and make it easier. Then he asks me how much I’m looking to get, and I say the amount I needed and then he begins to tell me how no you’re only qualified to make this amount and shows me that. (Why ask what I wanted anyway then?) like I said this is my first time applying,I live on my own and have a pretty well paying job. So then I start asking questions trying to understand why I can’t get more from this loan and what qualifies someone to get more because I truly didn’t understand. He begins to tell me repetitively that it’s just in your paper work it’s just what it is. And I began to ask again how and what makes someone more qualified I don’t understand why I couldn’t get a higher loan. And he couldn’t explain why just said after typing it in that’s what the system said. His energy turned negative and he made me feel and seem like I was being an aggressive and uneccwssary customer at this point. Then the next thing I knew it was three employees talking to me aggressively and very annoyed seeming explaining that they can’t explain why and it’s just the underwriting of the system. I kept asking how would I be able to qualify for more what could have been done different? They didn’t give me any further resources besides that it’s what the system said and it’s a loan service that’s how loans work. I said okay then I guess it’s fine. I’m just new to this so I’m genuinely trying to understand. Everyone’s tones and energy was so low and mean I seriously almost cried because I have natural anxiety and ptsd and it was hard for me to hold my ground and keep it together with three people angrily talking to me. I’m usually never the person to confront anyone and being honest explaining that I’d like more explanation because I’m new to this and this was the first time I really have and this was the outcome. I got my loan and politely responded to everyone and left as fast as I could. Worst experience I’ve ever had there.

    Extremely incompetent and useless for any services here or customer service. Ibjabe cashed over $100,000 in checks and no problem before. Tried to cash one today for $200. Gave 2 forms of ID, endorsed the check, confirmed with signer on the phone. But no was denied and told they don't know why. Called corporate and same answer. Went to another Amscott and no problem.

    Went in to exchange some 20's for 100's but was politely told only 1 100 bill can be exchange per customer. Okay no problem, exchanged for 1 bill and went back to my car. Told my girlfriend, who had stayed in the car the entire time, the situation and she went in to exchange for another bill. She was denied and told that she came in with me. She had stayed in the car since I parked. Looks like they need to revise their statement and say per VEHICLE not per customer because that's what happened. Otherwise would of shown up with 4 more people just so we can get the 6 bills we needed.

    Highly disappointed in this location . The manager was very rude and raising his voice the entire conversation. I tried explaining to him the situation I was in and he would not work with us what so ever. Amscot knows they are the only business around who deals with money orders and such and feel they can steal how ever much they want. There’s a reason they only have a 1 star rating with the better business bureau. Lack of ethics.

    Today i tried to cash a personal check here from my friend because the banks were closed. They have me such a hassle after i gave them everything they asked for and Idid some phone verification with my friend who they called rlto confirm. Still nothing. It's was for $150 only i have done this before for more here! Called customer service and talk about a waste of time. I will never return here again and no one who work here knows anything about their job.🙈🙉🙊
