Victor was great to work with!! He is in the South Elgin branch and I live in Chicago. I applied for an auto loan over the phone and worked directly with him. The process was super simple and worth it. I received a good rate and was able to purchase my car at the dealer with little hassle. However, the drive was a bit long to sign the paperwork, but was truly worth it!!

My car loan went super smooth! This is all because of Victor from the Elgin branch. He was very prompt and super courteous. He was able to answer all my questions in a professional manner. If you need a car loan, I highly suggest going through Victor! 6 star service. Thanks again Victor!

I only banked with them because the car dealership said my loan will be with them. I refinanced my car about a year or so later. I got a call from the bank saying my payment was late on the new loan. they said it was due a week before I actually signed my new loan contract. How is that possible. Strike one!! They fixed the issue and Victor Hernandez called and said that my first payment on the new loan was due June 22nd. I get a call June 15 and they said my payment was due the 6th of June. I was transferred to Victor and he said he never told me the 22nd, that he said the 6th. I got a call back from Victor about 10 minutes apart and now he was saying it was due the 4th!?!?!?! REALLY? Strike two! I get the bank manager to ask him to change my due date for the loan and Victor said it could be changed to the 19th of the month. I get a call back from Victor wanting to confirm the due date and he said that the due date will be the 18th. STRIKE THREE! I mean, how hard is it to get the numbers correct????? I was basically being called a liar! I never had issues with this bank, till I decided to refinance my car with Victor.

American Eagle Bank is one of the best Bank I never deal with, I had two car loans through them and both no problems, they have a wonderful customer service. Really great bank ( my experience was with the one in South Elgin)

Do not bank with these people at any cost. My less than 6 weeks experience as a client of theirs resulted in the following deductions being made: 1. They don't follow their own policy. 2. They lie to their clients. 3. They will hound you worse than a debt collector, and will look up phone numbers to contact you from on an account that is not even past due (my account was actually paid in full). I bought a car and paid cash and took out a small loan using this bank (auto dealership's choice). My credit score is just below 700. I figured the lender would suck just due to the fact that is the trend from dealership loans; I didn't mind because I was going to pay it off during my next paycheck. The lender called within a week's time to confirm my loan and address. I asked the banker if they had online payments, and stated I'd like to pay my loan off. I was told that they didn't have an online system, and that I'd have to mail in my payment (first lie). I then assked for my account number so I can write a check and mail it in. I was told I didn't have one yet (most likely another LIE---it's been a week and I don't know of bank systems that give out loans and don't assign loan/bank number within a week). Another week passed. I received the little pay book in the mail and mailed them a check paying the loan off. Fast forward a months time, I am at work in the middle of a major project when I receive a phone call. By the way, I am a scientist--meaning I have to gown up and wear gloves as I work. I don't give my work number --better yet, I don't even know my work number because it is rare I am at my desk making calls. The banker, Ruth S. called my cell phone, but did not leave a message, then called my work number, which she took the time to google/whitepage.. She informed me that my payment was not received yet; did I mention the payment was not even past due. I let her know that the payment was mailed and cashed weeks ago. During my lunch I ended up going to my bank and letting them know the situation. My bank informed me that the lender was the recipient of the check and cashed it. It turned out American Eagle Bank deposited my check in the wrong account three weeks earlier and did not have an internal system to catch the error. By the third call, I was furious. Ruth asked if I would authorize an over the phone check payment to pay off the loan. I was a bit confused because I wrote the check for an amount greater than my loan, amount. Before hanging up, she apologized for calling me on my work number. I was PISSED to say the least. I wanted to know why these people were calling me 1.at a number I did not give them. 2 over a check they lost. 3. my account was not past due. and 4. the amount discrepancy was not clear ( I wrote a check for more than the amount owed and was expecting a little back, instead I owed about $30).I called back after work to speak with a manager --Andy and informed him of my extremely negative experience. It was then I learned that he too, was not professional or competent on customer service. After giving him my name and social he pulled my account and informed me that it is their policy to contact individuals from an alternate method after a number of attempts with the information provided and also after 2-3 days. This was their first day and attempt to contact me. The payment book said the first payment was after Nov 19th, it was Nov 17th when I got the phone calls. He did not even apologize for the employees non-compliance of their own policy. He did not apologize for my unpleasant experience (being at work and having to de gown/de glove to rectify an issue they created). It was speaking to him that I learned they have online banking and a method to make payments to your bill online. I could have paid my loan off and not have the interest compounded daily. What a scumbag to lie to me.... Do not bank with these people!! All of this nonsense was over a payment that was less than $140.00 a month.

American Eagle Bank of Chicago has separate accounts and employees from American Eagle Bank in South Elgin. I appreciate people giving their honest reviews, however I would like for people to actually look at which bank they are writing about, because all of our negative reviews are from customers with accounts from the South Elgin bank and their experience there, not here.

Be sure to be specific and double check the information the first time I called they gave me incorrect information the second time I called to schedule an appointment I verified what I was coming in for and the woman said no that’s not correct that’s not what our rates are for that amount of money (I was opening a CD) So double check or you’ll end up wasting your time
B
they finance my purchase of a new car.., I pay $ 500 a month, $ 300 they take monthly, and only $ 200 per car, I advise you to have no business with them
