America First Credit Union W Fairview Ave, Boise

At my point in life I have had three different mortgages, and I have paid off multiple cars. I went to America first thinking that they were a really good loan company to work with. At this point I have called for a month and a half trying to make a payment on my car to them. Each time I am on the phone waiting for 20 to 40 minutes. I had to jump through many hoops to access my pin, I have had to jump through many hoops to talk to somebody about making a payment. I do not have traditional banking options and I do live in a more rural area. The problem is is that America first is not helping to make this process easier, they need to open up more accessible options for people that are in non-traditional banking.

If you are used to working with a bank that will keep you posted or updated on things then you will soon discover that this bank is not for you. Just being able to contact this bank is next to impossible and they will not call you back. Their automated voice system is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I sold my truck a week ago and they told me it would take 3 business days to receive the remaining amount. I called the Utah branch because the Boise branch will not answer the phone. This bank will not send u a Bill and they charged me over a $1,000 to insure my vehicle the first month I had it because their was a slight delay when I tried to renew my vehicle insurance so I had to use their way over priced insurance. I believe this bank does not care one bit about its customers. Even now I am pist waiting for a call from the Boise branch..... and still nothing.

Im surprised by the number of low star reviews. We have been banking with America First for at least 10 years. Previously when we lived in Utah. We have always had great experiences with them including the staff. The banker i usually see remembers my name when i come in and we chat not just about bank stuff but they have gotten to know me. Their loan rates and options that we have looked at seem to be on the better side. We have had a car loan in the past with them and that process was easy and pain free. Just pass over the reviews of people having a bad day.

Great credit union with low fees and excellent customer service. I’ve had accounts with them for 20+ years. I do not understand the bad reviews. They are one of the top credit unions in the country and we are lucky to have a branch in Boise.

If I could give a zero I would they stole money from me and claim they don’t know where it is? Yes I authorized my car payment but I guess they can just take whatever they want from you. Think twice about this bank

If i could give them ZERO stars i would they put me on hold 2 days in a row for over 30 minutes each time and still didn't answer, very difficult to get decent help with their automated system and not actually a real associate

I have tried three times to sign all the documents and submit them to set up automatic payments for a car loan. Every single time I get a confirmation that it is set up. Every single time the transaction doesn't go through on the scheduled date. When I notice this a few days later I call and every time they tell me it is due to insufficient funds, which is not the case. So I am forced to pay over the phone to avoid an $18 late fee, but they still charge me an $8 fee for paying over the phone. The first time I didn't notice the transaction didn't process in time and it negatively impacted my credit report. Will not be doing any banking with them again.

Have had the worst experience ever with car loan through this bank. They don’t send out a bill at all so you have to remember each month to send your payment, and have to is your own envelope to send it since they don’t provide one. There website is a joke you can’t pay with a card from another bank. Plan to payoff loan so I don’t have to deal with bank anymore because it is so frustrating. IF YOU ARE LOOK FOR AUTO LOAN SHOP OTHER PLACES OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!

This is a review for the online banking only. There seems to always be a problem with some feature online. I have tried multiple times to transfer funds to pay off my car loan early but each time something isn't working. I called in to try to make a payment. The first lady I talked to did great and transfered a large sum towards my car loan. The next two times I tried to do this the people gave me different information each time. Nothing has been consistent. I would not choose to finance another vehicle through them.

I talked to a representative about paying $50 a week towards my auto loan, then some how got canceled, I have been receiving late fees for 8 months, the money is in my account to pull yet they were never pulling it. Then they never worked with me to get the late fees returned I would never use this institution for anything again.
