I have been very frustrated with State Farm in the last month. I cancelled my renter's policy in October because I wanted to go back to using the same carrier as my auto insurance to save some money. About a week or so later, I changed my mailing address in my account because I also have a State Farm credit card, and I wanted to make sure my statements were sent to the correct address, as any person would do after moving. A couple days later, I received a notice in the mail about an insurance policy. I called this office because they had managed my policy before, and they told me they received a request for a policy with the new address, to which I promptly responded that I never requested a new policy, and that any policies they had on my account should be cancelled effective 10/13 like I originally requested. Well it appears that this policy is still out there, because a charge appeared in my bank account from State Farm, and I had no idea what it was until I called them. The customer service person I spoke to even said that the office had notes in the system to cancel the policy and she didn't know what was taking them so long. I have never even had to file a claim, and I am already extremely tired of the issues I have had. I don't plan to do business with State Farm anymore, and will be cancelling my credit card ASAP as well.
