Advantis Credit Union Ne Multnomah St, Portland

Staff are always helpful and friendly. We have used multiple branches, and currently bank at the Fremont branch. I really don't understand the other negative reviews I see here; we've been Advantis customers since the early 90s, and have always had excellent service. Rates are better than almost any bank I have investigated. Besides, a credit union (any credit union, for that matter) is a much better consumer option than a bank.

Went in today to try close out my savings account as I needed the money to make a large purchase. Signed up for membership in October 2014. Banker Marie (who according to her card must normally works at the branch on Belmont) told me that a savings account is required to be a member. Was never told that while signing up but whatever. She then offered to close my checking instead. What kind of banker asks that since most people use checking for all their purchases. She didn't even pull up my account to offer to move money over from savings or tell me the minimum required in the saving so I could move the rest over. I then had some cash and checks to deposit and she wouldn't even do that and said it was required I use the video teller. I know they can still deposit without the video teller as they've done it before but she refused to help me. Terrible customer service all around and I even told her that but she didn't seem to care. I finally called their customer care line and the their rep was able to assist me with the transfer, but you can bet your butt I'll be moving to a new bank in the next few months due to this experience.

Terrible experience every time I've worked with these guys. Botched my car loan multiple times. Most recently I tried to refinance with some cash out to repair damage on my vehicle. They were super helpful at first but eventually denied me because they didn't like the shop I chose - they apparently wanted to see me gouged by their preferred vendors. Their front facing representative was very friendly and helpful but ultimately just like big banks its the mask they put in front of the machine. They'd rather see me bent over by their specialty shop than actually help me stay safe - totally immoral. Avoid if you can.

The folks in the office were really friendly and helpful. I was able to get cash from my checking account in a few minutes right before they closed even though I didn't have my debit card on me.

Worst banking experience I have had in 43 years. Multiple problems being locked out of online banking. Multiple times having phone reps unable to answer questions. Multiple day turn around on call backs. Ridiculous hoops to jump to wire money. Complete lack of help with time sensitive escrow deposits. Unreal request to close accounts even with all security and identity information( drove 6 hours round trip from Seattle in person after multiple tries to do so electronic). This credit union is a circus, just read the reviews and be warned.

Horrible. Pls fix it I've been a member since forever. But if u can't T fix this. No longer.
