So very pleased to be doing my banking with this local credit union. Been with them for years through a mortgage and car loan. Outstanding service, friendly people who go the extra mile to help you. My recent car loan, got a great rate, and the loan person worked directly with CarMax to get me home the same day with my new car. Highly recommend.
Hi VE! We're glad to hear that you've enjoyed your experience with Advantis. Thanks for being a long time member!

Advantis was a great bank at first, but most recently they have been a nightmare to work with. Recently I have gone into the branch to deposit some pretty large checks, but I feel as if I have been racially profiled. I think it is pretty disheartening to think this is the way our Credit Union is treating people of color. Advantis you need to do better! I would recommend going elsewhere, like Rivermark for a better experience.
Hi Jeremiah, thank you for reaching out to us. We take this very seriously and would like to respond here as well as speak to you by phone at your earliest convenience. First and most importantly, we want to affirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. At Advantis, valuing every person and caring for our community is at the heart of our organization, and the reason many of our employees and members choose to be part of our credit union. We want to make clear that we have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination, racism, and/or racial profiling. Beyond this, we have started programs to proactively support communities of color, such as our Allies for Good Community Giving program, and we pledge to support the dismantling of systemic barriers that exist for all communities, especially Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian American, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ communities. It appears you have been working with Alicia, our Fremont Branch Manager, on the check issue that you mentioned. Alicia would like to talk with you about this further and is standing by to assist you. Please give her a call on her direct line at 971-204-4925. She hopes to hear from you, and we thank you again for reaching out and for your Advantis membership.

Terrible service from Greg. I went in to have my licensed scanned for a loan refinancing. I have done this before in another branch and it took less than a minute. He acted skeptical that I was getting a loan from there and was seemingly judge mental. Had me repeat 3 times that the loan was with Advantis and I felt humiliated. After 10 minutes of looking through the computer he asked who my loan officer was and I called to find out. He tried to call at the same time and when she called me back he was interrupting the conversation to have me tell her to call him. He then let her know he was hurt that she called me back first. All in all somebody else eventually had to scan my license and it was an overall miserable experience.
Hi Sam, thank you for reaching out to us to share this feedback. We are so sorry to hear that you had an experience that did not meet your expectations. Our top priority is serving our members. Worst Customer service ever!!!!!!! I called them up do to me paying a bill and the company wont take my payment do to my zip code not being correct from my bank. So I call Advantis and nurelain asked for me to verify cvv # birth date and full address which i gave. And Nurelain says how can i help you. I told her my issue that i want to see what zip code they have on file. She goes ok go ahead and verify it with me i said i just verified my info with you (cvv,bd, FULL ADDRESS!) and she wants to play games. I tell her are you kidding me i just gave you my address i need to find out what YOU are looking at as a ZIP CODE. and she says go ahead and verify. I tell her this is unacceptable customer service. and i want to speak to a supervisor and Diana #1417 comes on the line and says i need to give them the zip code. So i gave it to her and guess what. it took 30 minutes just to get this info. Moral of the story. I sell cars for a pretty big dealership and every single customer that sits IN front of me will here thit story in detail. With a little stretch of the truth. I will cancel account and take my chances else where. That was terrible for them to do. It sucks i have to give even one star! This credit union sucks !!!! Now on to facebook, Instagram yelp!

I am always excited to visit the downtown location. The staff are friendly, welcoming and provide quality customer service - in the branch and over the telephone. Recently, while in the area, I went into the branch to say hello to my favorite representative, Greg Taylor. While sharing a conversation, I mention that I was on my way to a different bank to make a large cash transaction. Greg reminded me that cashiers checks were free. Immediately, I returned with the cash and also made a deposit to my account (intended for the other bank). I left the branch a satisfied customer, as always!
Hey L! Thanks for sharing your experience with the downtown location. We're so lucky to have great staff at that branch, including Greg Taylor! We appreciate your membership!

I want to take a moment to share what a pleasure it has been working with Greg Taylor over the last couple of years! I have been banking with Advantis for over 10 years and have enjoyed working with a local credit union. However, I have never had a consistent banker until Greg started helping me. I own three businesses and have at least 10 different bank accounts. As a small business owner my finances are complicated. Greg has consistently gone above and beyond to help with my numerous questions. The recent pandemic has added additional layers of complication to my finances and Greg has not missed a beat! He has been there to help every time I need something with a big smile on his face. I am very grateful for his assistance and can’t say enough nice things about him:-)
Hello Erica! Thank you so much for sharing these kind words about Greg. We're so lucky to have him as part of our Advantis team! We appreciate your membership!

Great credit union. Super friendly staff. Really easy to do business with. Very fair rates. Couldn't ask for more.
Thanks for sharing your feedback Lee Anne!

You have an extremely good employee and person in Greg Taylor. He goes beyond his job description. He has been helping my disadvantaged nephew for several years. I live in St. Louis Mo. and my nephew is your customer. Many times. Greg has stepped up to the plate to help me work thru his many problems. Greg should be given 5 stars and recognition for what he does for your organization and your customers. Bob Harper.
Hi Bob! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We are lucky to have Greg as part of our team.

I don’t bank here, but I tried using Advantis to get a home improvement loan. I used a remote loan officer, Jose Herrera, who was fairly unprofessional and seemingly incompetent. At times I thought he was lying to me (several times said he had called me and left a message when I had no record of a call) and other times I wasn’t sure what was going on (he told me he would email the next day and then 7 days went by—I gave my phone number and he asked me to repeat it because “it seemed like a lot of numbers”). After a week of no contact from him I emailed and he responded to say he had called (again) and when I reminded him that he said he would email me he replied with no personal address and no signing off—just “sorry about that”. He seemed so odd and unprofessional to me that I probably won’t be going back to Advantis.
Hi Jamalieh! We're sorry to hear about your experience. Alicia Stark from our Member Service Center has reached out to you but we also wanted to provide you with her number in case she was unable to reach you. You can reach out to her at your convenience at 503-210-2727. Thanks!

*UPDATE* Tried to refi and it was more of the same - lots of runaround asking me for quotes and invoices because apparently this loan being secured by the car I'm trying to repair and keep safe and roadworthy isn't enough. In the end they denied my request because they didn't like the shop I chose. A total waste of my time money and patience - made me run all around town getting quotes when they apparently wanted me to use their preferred mechanic. *original post* Wasted my money and time without apology. I selected Advantis for an auto loan on a car from California - they said this would be fine if I could do a bridge loan from someone else to buy it and then once it had an Oregon title they would be happy to lend on it. This sounded great so I proceeded to follow their instruction but when I sent them proof I had applied to register they pointed out I hadn't listed them as a lien holder (this made sense to me since they hadn't actually loaned me any money at this point) and would have to wait the 6 weeks for the title to process before being paid. This caused issues with what was supposed to be a very short term bridge loan and once everything finally did clear they charged me yet another $77 title fee to have their name placed on the document essentially forcing me to eat their mistake. I get that most people consider big banks to be the greatest evil in the world but the incompetence that comes with credit unions is more annoying, at least big name banks usually wave the cost when they screw up. Further they then botched my paperwork which required me to come back and sign a second time (neither the underwriter nor clerk who helped me took the time to notice this until it was too late). Normally I could dismiss one or two of these mistakes but they botched literally every step of the process and made me cover the financial cost of their incompetence. I will avoid using this bank in the future.
