I called Academy Mortgage just going down a list of FHA lenders. At first I thought things were going well, the lender Madelaine seemed sympathetic to my situation. Further down the line it seemed like she did not want to do the work necessary for my particular situation (husband has history of 1099 and self employment that was tricky to prove). When she said we would not qualify for FHA I asked how much we would need for a conventional loan and I'm not sure why but she just hung up on me. I ended up finding a great lender (APPROVED!!) that corrected 50% of what Madelaine at Academy Mortgage had told me. They need more training in their own field as well as customer service. Very very poor service.

Too much heartache and pain to list in a google review, but I had the opposite experience of other reviewers. At this point I'm just happy that my home loan was finally approved with some of my sanity still present. The only good experience I had with Academy Mortgage is when they sold my loan to another institution immediately after closing, I owe them a thank-you letter for that. If you end up working with loan officer Karen, may God help you.
