As a good long time customer, they sold me into a terrible cash out refinance product last year which I was allowed to believe was on a fixed rate. Bait and switch. I will leave this institution as soon as possible.
Hi Manny, I'm sorry you feel that way. We have never offered a fixed rate home equity, so I'm not sure where the confusion lies especially since we not only thoroughly go over the product when you apply but also at closing. You also have a rescission period after the closing of a loan with us to fully understand the documents we go over with you which gives you the chance to close the loan. We would never bait and switch any of our members, as our value and driving force is to always help our members. We are a not for profit institution, so it is not in our interest to try and get members to open loans they don't need.

To Weststar Credit Union.. I have been a member of the weststar credit union for over 17 years and have always been treated very well. But since I met Theresa Castcart, she has always been very kind and has helped me on many occasions in the purchase of my vehicles or when it comes to mortgage loans. In any questions I have about the bank. We are very grateful to her especially for making us the procedures that are not so complicated, thanks Theresa Castcart for everything and to your team.

There is NO after hours communication with the bank. I got paid yesterday, and had only spent about $150 when my card started to decline, mind you after previously being told the daily spending limit for debit is $3,000. I tried to call them because when I checked the app I can clearly see funds in my account only to realize you can’t reach them after 6. I spoke with the only person you can reach who was in the fraud department to also find out they can’t see why my card is declining or help. I was stranded then because I couldn’t catch an Uber or take out money to get a bus home. Definitely taking my business somewhere else.

I have been with WestStar for a while and the company is behind the times. Their policies make for inconvenient banking. Years ago they closed all of their branches except one which you would think would have allowed them to allocate their budget and make updates but no. Their app for Apple has been outdated for over two years which is a security concern. Recently they opened new locations and supposedly will have an update to their app but we will have to re-register our account. The employees are nice probably because they understand how inconvenient it is for their customers to bank at WestStar. I only keep my account open because I've had the account for a while. I wouldn't recommend this company to bank with. Wish I could give zero stars as a rating. Update: I still regret having an account with this crappy credit union. My credit has not improved due to having an account with them and it has nothing to do with any debt I have because I have been debt free since 2014. They “updated their mobile banking” but uploading a check on their mobile banking app is still a complete hassle. I will be closing my account as soon as I can because it’s so much easier to bank with USAA (btw USAA doesn’t have any branches in town but they are still more convenient than WESTSTAR!!!) Even Chase Bank is easier to manage. WestStar you remain a dinosaur in 2018 and I’m sure you will remain a dinosaur of a company for years to come. GET TOGETHER WITH THE TIMES!!!!!

A credit union works as a cooperative organization formed by individuals with an identifiable common bond (for us that is the Nevada gaming industry) to serve its member's financial needs. By far THEE WORST Credit Union ever! I'll be switching to One Nevada ASAP! Weststar is no better than Wells Fargo with all of their fess as well as PERSONAL decision on how to debit your account so they can issue overdraft fees! You'll end up spending more in overdrafts than what you put it if you bank here. They claim everything is a policy however after reading there "policies" everything I was told by their non helpful and clueless representatives were a lie. I have personally filed with NCUA (National Credit Union Association) because FTC does not handle that. Pedro who is a representative in the call center purposely gave me the wrong information when I asked who I can file with. They are simply the worst.
Hello Ms. Jones, After reviewing your account history, it appears that your account has been managed the same since you opened it last January, and how transactions and overdrafts are processed has not changed. Our standard practice (as is for most financial institutions) is to charge an NSF or Overdraft Fee for transactions that cause the account to be overdrawn . We don't control when account holders authorize transactions, and our processing system is not able to make personal decisions; it will automatically charge a fee if the funds are not sufficient when the transaction is presented for payment. If you are unhappy with your membership with WestStar Credit Union, that is unfortunate, and we understand if you'd like to close your account. After 35 years as a customer I closed my account and advise anyone not to use Weststar credit union. The customer service is the worst. Don’ t waste your time on them.

Absolute worst credit union I have ever been to. Id go somewhere else and not waste your time. They were not personable and had some of the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I am beyond unimpressed.
