    I called Wescom in advance to confirm that they offer Medallion Signature Guarantee services. I let them know that we weren’t members yet, but hoped to join and also had a document that we needed the Medallion on. I asked if there was a waiting period before they could provide this service, and the phone rep said no, as long as we’re members, they can help. I work as a Branch Manager at a credit union in AZ, so it was important to me that we find a credit union to help us. We wanted a joint account so that we could send money to each other easily, and thought this would be perfect since they offer the Medallion to new members. We were wrong. I started by opening the membership online. After submitting the application, it said that it takes 2-3 business days for review. I knew I had to travel back home before that, so I called in and they confirmed that the branch could finish it up for us. When we got there, we were told to sign in on a tablet and that someone will be with us shortly. As I try to sign in, their system makes you input a phone number, but the on screen keyboard has no numbers on it. If you press the number button, nothing happens. Technology is one of my passions and even I couldn’t figure it out. After giving up on that, we waited in the lobby for 15-20 min. The teller informed us that it would be a bit of a wait, because the person who could help us is on lunch. I confirmed that there was only one person who could help, and she said yes. She also said that they take hour lunches. That sounds great for employees, but they’ll have blackout times for an entire hour where someone can’t open an account? When we finally sit down with Anthony. I told him that we were finishing opening a membership that was started online, and that we also needed a Medallion signature guarantee. Anthony said ok, and got started. He was friendly, but also fairly inexperienced. He had been in banking for less than a year and needed help from the woman at the desk next to him to do this for us. I don’t blame him for this; people coming in to finish an account that was started online is rare. The part that confuses me is why we waited for 15-20 minutes for him to come back from lunch, when the woman next to him had nobody at her desk and she clearly knew how to do this. After we’re done opening the account, I reminded Anthony that we needed the Medallion. At that time, the woman at the desk next to him overhears and said, “You have to be a member for 90 days before you can get a Medallion.” I tried explaining to them that I already called in advance and confirmed that new members should be able to get a Medallion done, but they said they can’t help. I asked to speak to the Branch Manager, and we waited another 5-10 min for him. When we met with the manager, he was also a nice guy (everyone we met seemed to be). However, he was also unable to make the exception and told me that it was out of his control. He didn’t provide a reason, just said that they’ve tried before and were unable to do it. I don’t have a problem with the policy, I have a problem with the lack of knowledge about it. If Anthony knew, he could have told us before we sat there for an hour. If the call center rep knew, we could have gone to a different CU instead. Also, as someone who has worked in banking since 2008 and has been a Branch Manager for several years, I was not impressed with how this branch was being managed. There should never be a blackout time for any service during lunch breaks. I’ll open accounts myself if needed when my team is on lunch. I didn’t see the Branch Manager once during the hour or so I was there, until we asked for him directly. I can only assume he was in his office the whole time. Good leaders manage by walking around, and they’ll get in the trenches to keep the branch running smoothly. This guy didn’t seem to do either of those things. Because I believe this feedback will help them to improve… If Wescom decides to make the exception and help my grandmother, I’m willing to remove this review.

    I Been Preaprove for car Loan Got the letter then i asking can i buy a Older car to be finance not 2017 teller say yes But never tell me the lower Year for Financing is 2012 I went out i Bought 2011 i arriving this morning found out cant Finance So I applied in another Credit union with out problem Need to explained Better next Time..

    ATM always available 24 hours a day, seven days a week! The best part is they have 2 ATM's, so if one is down you still have another to use (which I have done more than once). Plus their outside in well lite area with very little foot traffic early mornings. So I feel safe. I have never used the Credit Union itself though. I'm strictly rating them in the easiness, and safeness of early morning ATM withdrawals.

    Bad customers service... I got to their door at 3:59pm on Saturday and the guy said they are closed at 4:00pm. I told them I drove more than 15 minutes to get here, and I need to cash the check. He asked me to use the ATM, and I told him that I don't have an account, but need to cash it. He just closed the door. I understand they wanted to leave early for the weekends. Common just use some common sense, and if a customer is at the door within a few seconds late, you just send them home. If my time clock is 3:59pm and I am pretty sure I am within a few seconds different since I use the time server which is very accurate. I wouldn't visit this branch at all if they have more branches nearby cities like other banks such as Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, etc.

    I've been a Wescom member ever since I was in elementary school and I've loved it ever since. I haven't had a reason to ever want to switch to another bank. I love Wescom's services and their super friendly and helpful staff. I've always had pleasant experiences for any type of interaction I've had, especially the West Covina location, which is the branch that I've been going to since I was a kid. I just wish that there were more locations; the locations are few and far in between. If you live nearby, I highly recommend Wescom to be your premier finance institution.
